Hey Mate, you will use less rounds, if you sight in with a group, instead of trying to do single rounds and adjust it to the bullzeye, shoot 3 rounds and adjust from the centre of the group. you will have more luck and save some precious ammo. trust the clicks on the scope to do thier job. Thats what they are for.
Yeah, everybody has their own method, but I have always been taught to shoot a 3 shot group, adjust, let the barrel cool for about 5 min, and shoot again. I've also always been told to use sandbags, but again, to each his own.
@@MutarFuqueer yeah, you can definitely chase you tail, especially if the ammo / rifle combo wont hold the yardstick 3 in an inch at 100. Wasn't too long ago , 3 in 3 at 100 was considered hunt ready for deer and up.

I’m a 7mm man for many years. 280, 280 Ackley, 7 mag. The last few years 7mm-08 is fast becoming my “go to” in hunting and shooting. Love it. If you get a Browning, budget a trigger. Theirs are rocks even after adjustment
If your wanting to shoot 1000yrds with a 7mm i recommend jumping up to a 150gr or heavier bullet. I have best results with 160-175gr bullets. Good video
I used a Remington 700 Varmint Special in 7mm-08 for several years in the ‘80s for metallic silhouette matches. The 140gr boat tail would knock over the steel ram targets at 500 meters without problems.
I really like the fusion bullets I have always had great results out of them out of my 300 win mag and 30-06. I always get the 180grain and my rifles preform excellent with them, I get quick 1 shot humane kills when deer hunting and almost always drop the deer in their tracks. My 30-06 produces 5 bullets in the same hole at 100 yards and the 300 win mag produces a quarter size group at 100 yards
Just started hunting with a Thompson center venture 7mm-08 this year. I think its my new favorite hunting caliber. I reload my own ammo using hornady sst bullets. They performed amazingly well on the 3 does ive shot so far! I've always had okay luck with federal fusion in all of my guns but they've never been a tack driving bullet. If you're shooting long range id highly recommend getting in to reloading. If not, I'd go with a more premium match grade round. Those groups will be a quarter the size when you find what that gun likes :) my American 223 shoots 1/3" groups at 100 yards all day! It amazes me every time I shoot it.
I was looking for some rounds to break my 25-06 barrel in when I first got it and I thought about the Fusion ammo. I talked to a guy that has shot bout every type ammo on the market he told me the fusion ammo didn’t get the best groups now. So I waited till I got my 25-06 put together and it’s shot Nosler ballistic tips every since. Never had a factory round shot through it and as long as I am able to reload and can get Nosler ballistic tips it never will. I’m just going by what this guy told me now. He never lied to me about anything.
I’ve had mad mojo with 7mm-08. Bought a used cva hunter and the throat is shorter than an ant. Factory ammo jams the lands. Ended up buying a Remington 700 magpul in 6.5 creedmoor. Loves 140 grain federal fusion.
Well my son took 2 deer this season with the Federal Fusion. One heart placement went 15 yards. The other double lung went about 70 yards leaving a path all the way. Both were inside 60 yards so not a long shot but he freehanded both so I would say the product works pretty good. It was a 6.5 Creedmoor though. I’m looking mighty hard at 7mm-08 for my next rifle but with 2 6.5’s and a 30-30 I don’t “need” another one esp given we mostly have 130 yard or less shots. I really like the ballistics on the 7mm-08 and almost wish I had talked him into buying one. Good stuff.
You have to remember the farther out you go even the slightest amount your off at your sight in range that will be x10 at a 1000. And with the drop of the bullet you could go thru a boat load of ammo and not get close to the target. Does this rifle have a 20MOA rail on it? Most hunting rifles don't come with this feature you may run out of adjustment at 1000 yards with this scope. For long range.shooting I'd suggest having a individual that is familiar with mounting long range scopes on rifles set it up for you or at least guide you so it's spot on. Good luck long range shooting is fun and challenging at the same time.
Great caliber. Underrated IMO. I have often considered it. I either went 7mm RemMag or 308. I would get a 7mm08 over a 6.5 Creed. Enjoy. If you are able to get them, Hornady Precision Hunter is a 150gr. ELD-X or Nosler Trophy Grade is a 140gr. Accubond. Great B.C. & not bad for hunting for sure.

Do you reload/load? If not, you should. If you really want to tighten up your group, custom loaded ammo is the way to go. You ought to give it a try... maybe Hornady would sponsor you if you were to start loading???
That black rifle black stick hanging on the wall is a knight mk93 in 50 caliber..I bought two and hunted with 2 at the same time every hunt..you will go with one muzzle loader..and it takes you about a minute or more to reload and shoot..it takes me about 3 or 4 seconds to get a second shot...where's the video using that muzzle loader? It's probably 25 years old
120 may be a light bullet for long range targets , but it works for deer . If you set the depth of bullet seating it usually helps , but have to load your own .
Wonder if theres a kit to make this rifle aics magazine compatability. 7mm08 is a great caliber here in wv mountains. But would love to have aics mags for it
Hi, WHO_TEE_WHO, I love your videos and you attitude. Thanks! Could you please check out a rifle in .277 FURY as soon as and IF you can get access to it for a review, it looks like one of the closest competitors to this one and a first major advancement in ammo technology in decades.
I’d look at 260 REM (same as 6.5 CREED) 7mm-08 and maybe 25-06; 7mm REM MAG, 30-06 and 300 WINMAG (the last three if you don’t mind recoil) there’s several others that will do it consistently, but those are all off the shelf factory loads you can find in the stores....

I have. A 7mm-08 they tend to like. Heavier bullets really. Evwn if they say the lighter bullet works better they tend to like around 100+grain bullets
Well i tried the 100 grain in my 7mm 08 and they shot terrible. Now for the 55 grain, that's another story. those things are tack drivers. I'm so confident in them I'm taking them on my hopefully 2nd consecutive successful elephant hunt here in N. Ga. I will update on hunt.
Update: Didn't have any luck this year. Circus didn't make it to town this year year, canceled over covid concerns. Put in for tags next year, tags are peanuts. Might as well. Hunter pro tip: you can use them for bait too.

Yup
Which got the most power 6.8 western or 7mm mag what is you experience
Wonder if theres a kit to make this rifle aics magazine compatability. 7mm08 is a great caliber here in wv mountains. But would love to have aics mags for it
Happy Thanksgiving! Great video. Try different ammo. Maybe 140grain bullets
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hello who tee who hope you and your family have a happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving!
You'll be very happy with the Zero Tech scopes , very good value for money ! Great video too 👍
I like em so far
Dude please incorporate a bench rest,at longer range's u will save ammo.
Everything costs time and money. I'm short on both
I have a Remington 7mm 08 and I shoot 140 grain. Great gun I use it for deer hunting
I use Remington ammunition
Awesome! I need to hunt with this one soon
Very nice buck
Awesome !!
💥💥💥
Happy Thanksgiving! What do you think about 280 Rem.... I love this underappreciated round....
Never tried 280
@@WHOTEEWHO try it....if you have the chance....it will surprise you, sir
Question is this scope clear in every setting and how’s the tracking would it hold up too your magnum rifle
I'm going to say that a good 2 or three shots between scope adjustments is a more sure way to be sure that the shots arent just stringing everywhere.
Yeah. Costs money
@@WHOTEEWHO in all honesty my guy.... Im a bit curious why you don't reload. I know you use alot of ammo and its rarely the same brand twice
No time. I alreafy hardly sleep 🤷♂️
@@WHOTEEWHO well. Shit. Spunds like you need an assistant with a press lmao
Hi, WHO_TEE_WHO, I love your videos and you attitude. Thanks!
Could you please check out a rifle in .277 FURY as soon as and IF you can get access to it for a review, it looks like one of the closest competitors to this one and a first major advancement in ammo technology in decades.
Haven't heard of that yet
I am going to give them a go thanks mate.
Thanks for watching Richie
Who Tee, would you consider a video that shows groupings of holes with the identical setup but with varying bullet grains?
Already planning to 👍👍
You need to use the Plumb bob when mounting a scope that way it’s straight up and down plus get a small level to make it scope and rifle are level
I use levels. I just did this one in a hurry
@@WHOTEEWHO ok
How about the penny challenge with 22 pistols??? Love to see you and Paul try that one.
I would also like to see that 25-06 at 1000 yards!!! Wonder if it will ?
Coming soon.
@@WHOTEEWHO yayay!!
Interesting caliber. How does it compare to 6.5 Creedmor with max bullet weights? 7mm-08 seems like a better hunting cartridge.
Gonna compare the 2
Haven't shot the federal fusion but have no problems with the Winchester super x ammo
Awesome
What is your favorite caliber to shoot 1,000 yards. I want a rifle for at least 800 yards but I'm so confused on all the different caliber.
I’d look at 260 REM (same as 6.5 CREED) 7mm-08 and maybe 25-06; 7mm REM MAG, 30-06 and 300 WINMAG (the last three if you don’t mind recoil)
there’s several others that will do it consistently, but those are all off the shelf factory loads you can find in the stores....
Woooo🇺🇸🤘🏻🇺🇸
Every shooter who has ever put a scope on a rifle
Can relate to this video.
Thanks for watching
I like it
Happy Turkey day! Just waking up from a meat coma!🤪
Happy Thanksgiving!
Nice rifle. Never used Federal Fusion before, but by the look of some of the comments it has varying feedback about its quality. Hard to shoot nice groups when the rounds are erratic. Catch you tomorrow.
My 2506 loves federal fusion
I like your method. Thanks. 🇱🇷👍☕😎
Thanks Peter
Out of all of my rifles only Zastava M70 in 7mm rem mag likes federal ammo..... if you're looking for something different WTW maybe get Zastava in 375 H&H its a pretty good gun for the price and its control feed 👍
Sounds expensive 😳😳😳
@@WHOTEEWHO in Australia Zastava is in a same price range as Ruger american 👍
Probably same price as a box of that 50 BMG A max 🤣
I know the pain of not having the scope centered. It happened to me sighting in and I went through so much ammo.
Athlon is a good scope for the money similar to vortex in my opinion
I believe that rifle does not like fusion Bullets brother. I’ve never tried it great video brother be safe and GOD BLESS
I like Hornsby Match ammo for hunting. Always seems to be on target, if it’s not, it’s me. Just my 2 cents worth.
Where can you get these zero tec scopes from? I googled them, but it says you have to find a dealer?
Awesome video like always ...
Sometimes the duck swims on water other times the duck cannot even drink water ... we all have them days that all we do adds up to very little .. anyway like always enjoy your videos ..
Happy thanksgiving sir
Thanks for watching apache!
If you have that much eye relief, i'd scoot the scope further down some
I just went through the list of videos. Did i miss the long range 7-08 ? or is that still in the offing?
Have not filmed that yet. Harder for me to do long range as often now. Our range was shut down
@@WHOTEEWHO What happened? That was a beautiful set up. Sorry to hear that man. My gun club maxes out at 600, but kind of a pain to set up do to proximity to the driveway.
WHO_TEE_WHO DANGIT!! Here in TX, we used to have an EPIC one called Triple C. Had steel out to 2k yds. Was fairly close by to my casa. Well of course they shut it down 😖. Some land dispute thing with the owners....
You would think here in TX they would have plenty of LONG ranges avail. to goto... Simply not true unless you don’t mind traveling 100 mi or more to find one....
I am looking FWD to your 1k yards 7mm-08 test. I think it is prob my next cal. that I get into.
Love all your videos brother 👊🏻
@@av8rbri473 I would drive 100m to be able to shoot out to 1k yards progressively and get some real data.
I have suggestion try a Laser pointer in the breach of the rifle to bore Site the scope
Just got one
The last shot was the highest one. I’m not sure why, but just about every scope I’ve adjusted seems to not move as much as I intended a couple of times, then make a big jump on a small adjustment. Go figure.
For 1,000 yards a 140 Gr BTHP, from a 24 inch barrel would make easy work of 1000 yards.
300 win mag
7mm
7mm-08
Which do you think is the better more powerful round?
Most powerful is 300wm. My favorite is 7mm mag
@@WHOTEEWHO why do you like the 7mm more ?
