This WHOLE video was shot using the iPhone 8 at 4k 60fps.
In this video I show how to replace the muffler on my 1998 Toyota tacoma with 243,000 miles on it. Its an older truck, but a muffler replacement is pretty easy, and makes the truck sound so much newer.

This video touches my soul. I literally sound just like you talking to my girlfriend about my truck upgrades or maintenance. "I'm pretty sure this part is meant to go here..." Everything always works out, but I swear it takes a bust knuckle and an extra day almost every time I work on my 1998 SR5. Great job, and I'm glad you kept it real.

This was a big help, thanks! The only thing that I had to do differently is to buy a 2-1/2 OD pipe and cut it to fit the outside of the muffler and existing pipe where I connected them. I also added a little muffler cement to the pipe connections. Also - a little lube makes it a lot easier to get the rubber connectors of and then back on.

Just spent over $500 for a mbrb cat back stainless for my 2003 Tacoma with Afe resonator.needless to say it’s for SALE.took it off after 100 miles and put a walker quite flow in. So much better for what I was looking for.

Hey awesome video. I have a 2004 xtracab 2.7 and I’m a little confused on which muffler to get. Seems like wheelbase is one of the questions asked when ordering. Did you run into this? Which did you choose?
O'Reilly's has these..muffler and rear tailpipe..here in my corner of flyover country for $74.99. You have to wait a few days to get them shipped from the warehouse but shipped for free. Walker brand. Part# 18970.

Sorta like a suppressor on a gun how the muffler works.
the temperature of the exhaust is much hotter when its after the Catalytic Converter when it leaks heat and air on vehicle parts can rust out and a fire if the leaks are near the fuel tank. a budjet repair is buying a turbo muffler and parts to install it they have some sound but do the job muffling sound and cost less than an oem replacement. as 409 stainless mufflers do rust through most notibally is mufflers and pipes by walker they rust out within a few years and more money to replace them.

If muffler is over 5 years old and showing signs of rust, just replace... In most cars, it's quite cheap.
