Haze is absolutely insane this patch. Previous weeks, I usually play Warden, and I had no problem 1v1ing here. Now I stand ZERO chance no matter what hero I pick and if I built BR or Metal Skin, whoever has Haze has a lot of control over the game.
I was in lane against a haze as warden, equal in farm, 6kish, I managed to sneak an ult cast without taking damage and jumped on her, she pressed Q and I melted instantly
She is too tanky in my opinion. She should be like tracer - ok I go in, but if I have a wrong timing, I die. Meanwhile she doesn't care about anything. just press fire and everything dies.
what do you think of spirit abrams? i tried it out after the siphon life buffs, and im not good enough at the game to tell how good it is, but its real fun! the healing is real good, and it feels easier to scale into the late game
I’ve never once played against a good mirage, I’m in emissary so idk if that’s a factor but he usually leaves or doesn’t do anything to contribute to the match
Can you do a video similar to your split push video about how to time ganks/jungling out of lane? I mostly solo lane and end up missing too much farm whenever I see an opportunity to get active
I just checked the stats, haze has a 98% pickrate in my region at my rank, our party is getting a bit of a haze fatigue, we have to make sure haze is in our team by optimizing our picks and if she ends up in the enemy team we have to all commit to focusing her before she becomes an 1v6 monster (which usually happens around 10min). In most games the haze player ends up with 2x the damage of the 2nd highest in the lobby
Nice vid dude. I’m just learning haze have a couple games with her. Say, would you recommend the headshot build (elothief) oor the more popular farm, ricochet build ?

About the item ammo scavenger. Do you get spirit power from meleeing a trooper or do you have to finish the trooper with a bullet so you can shoot the orb?
i think the most important factor when discussing why spellslinger is bad is the fact that it has such an insanely long cooldown for such a low impact per stack ratio. a 1.5 second cooldown for building up a passive that doesn't even really get useful until 6ish stacks, 9 seconds into a fight. for a post-laning phase item, that is absolutely horrendously bad, especially considering that the condition for stacking is typically achieved many times times in short bursts, not consistently throughout fights. if someone is consistently hitting their headshots throughout a full fight and still dying, a little bit more spirit power probably isn't going to save you. you'd be better off spendihg on mobility, defense, or even sustain or penetration
Yeah I agree, I'd like to see it's cooldown become something like .1 or .2 that can't be modified (like Wraith's cooldown spamming cards is locked at .65), that way it can be built up reasonably quickly without being super good for the automatics or generating a stack per pellet from shotguns.
I like the entire video but the shiv part of the tier list made me scratch my head. He's comparable to grey talon and infernus in winrates yet he's two tiers above them. That doesn't seem reasonable.
Probably because deathy played a lot of shiv in the past so he has the perspective of somebody very good on the hero, but when placing other characters (that he doesn't play) he has to refer to more general impressions / stats. I notice this quite often in tier list: it's difficult to keep the same mindset when placing all heroes and personal biases often show up. Which makes sense, there is nothing objective about a tier list. I was surprised by the winrates on shiv, they are atrocious, but in theory he should be good in this patch
@@SirCrusher Shiv is definitely currently stronger than both, character actually just doesn’t die if you play right. I have seen an infernus have impact in weeks and gt it takes a blue moon.
The problem with that is good players that have eyes and use them can see she is MIA and should be aware that she can do this. Thus preventing it from happening falls to the players themselves making her weak.
@@BusterBosque what are you talking about? she is invisible and just throws a dagger at you and does its combo, you instantly die. You cannot do anything about this.
I agree with this geist build it is best to rush kinetic headshot booster and superior cool down without those main items her damage will be lackluster until late game.
Vindicta falls off even more now because of the recent changes to her bird - going for spirit damage doesnt make sense anymore. I think she is not strong anymore.
I agree with your tier lists much more then Jonas only thing I would change is your Mirage placement as I think he is stronger then most the A tiers just no one plays him in pubs so there is not much data to go by
I think that's kinda what he said in the video. In organized play he's pretty strong, just in your general games he's gonna be kinda alright due to the lack of teamplay
Destroying the first patron decreases any dead player's timer by 20 seconds, with a 10 second minimum (e.g. a player with 12 seconds left will go to 10 seconds, the same way a player on 20 seconds will go down to 10) Edit: 20 seconds lol my bad
The exact wording from the patch notes, is "Killing the first Patron now causes any existing enemy hero respawns to be reduced by 20 seconds. However, it does not reduce remaining respawn time lower than 10s."
Con confirm that haze is busted again. Just used a hybrid build built around long range and was rolling in Oracle. And when has Pocket not been S tier? lol
Given the significant disparities between all the tier lists i've seen (Deathy, AJ, Mast) i'd say the charachters all seem quite balanced and for most people wether a character is good or not will come down to feel. Certain characters that feel too op when you play against them just seem terrible in my hands and vice versa and i think it's pretty good overall!
They are all in different skill brackets and only deathy plays comp. I'd love to see more high elo players put out content rather than just talk over gameplay.
FYI mentioning ranks in this alpha build is a pretty stupid angle to take as a justification for whether a hero is good or not. There’s limited to no difference between ascendant and eternus players in skill outside of the very top players (not including you). The ranking system relied heavily on the amount of games and times played prior to the ranking system implementation and on stacking during the placement matches. This game has a very low skill ceiling compared to any fps in terms of aim and movement, and very low skill ceiling in terms of strategic compared to any RTS or Dota (league is a non-mechanical game and designed for non gamers). When this game releases, if fps/RTS players pick it up, they will overtake all of the existing players that aren’t competing right now.
I disagree that Lash falls off. It is usually just that Lash's can't build to save their life so fall off due to failing to build items to scale and counter build. I think he is placed correctly but objective data shows that Lash possess a
I feel like his contribution to teams late-game fall off harder in lower ranks, because in higher-ranks he is basically an ult machine. Can easily change the direction of a fight basically every 60 seconds.
Bro putting Shiv in S tier is Comedy... Hes comically bad, as supported by the stats. Eternus hes at 40%, and overall at 45%... lowest winrate in the game. I get that winrates arent all that matters but he requires so much more to fall in line to perform well compared to characters like wraith or haze. ultimately better spot than hes been in for weeks but hes not S tier imo.
Yeah it's really bad. I keep getting people who like I haven't played the game in a while or just installed it. MM is the worst of any game I ever played
Same with purge in dota and roadhog in overwatch, by design these characters are unfun for the enemy team (receiving end of the hook) so if they are too strong and get high pickrates the game as a whole becomes unfun. By design these types of character have to stay niche, so slightly below average in overall power.
Why do you say that combat barrier does a tremendous amount of damage? I feel like it does ok damage of its price, its a good item because of the item + survivability, is that what you meant ?
You should think outside of tournament play more (i mean, the game doesnt even have a draft pick), for example Kelvin is probably one of the WEAKEST characters in solo queue and in a very bad state that most of the kelvin players, high and low elo, seem to agree on.
soul are shared (=duplicated, all players get full value) during the laning-phase which stops at 8min, then they split to the formula which changes every patch; but right now it's 100/60/35/25/20/16%, so they split evenly for 1, 4, 5 and 6 players, but slightly more advantageously for 2 and 3 players (60% instead of 50% and 35% instead of 33% so barely noticeable)
Love your content deathy but I am stepping away from deadlock and gotta take you off my feed, I just had a game that cemented this game isnt for me after 300 hours, in a 50 mins match I had 70k souls and went 28 kills 5 deaths with the highest objective damage meanwhile nobody on my team even had 40k souls, the concept of even tho your playing your heart out you only have a 18% chance to effect the outcome of the match is dumb solo vs premade is a HUGE mis-match and the solo only console command does not work, removing ranked was stupid id much rather go back to battle royals where my imputs actually matter and I dont have to rely on 5 other people being competent sober humans to enjoy a game.
Personally think the devs are just throwing character buffs/nerfs at the wall and seeing what sticks, which I get it's still in a highly developmental state, but I just think they're doing too much. They probably need to touch less knobs on each character when they decide to buff and nerf. The oscillation in hero power is a bit obnoxious IMO and leads to temporary raid boss/dog water characters for no real reason.

Warden is more broken dude. Check Eternus win-rates.
She is too tanky in my opinion. She should be like tracer - ok I go in, but if I have a wrong timing, I die. Meanwhile she doesn't care about anything. just press fire and everything dies.
I'm a mo and krill main, and I think he is one of the best counters to her. Seek her out and make her life miserable.
For Lady Geist, why put mystic reverb on Malice? For the slow? I feel like bomb would do a ton more damage even in my own games (low archon)
what do you think of spirit abrams? i tried it out after the siphon life buffs, and im not good enough at the game to tell how good it is, but its real fun! the healing is real good, and it feels easier to scale into the late game
Warden is extremely strong. He has the top win-rate in Ascendant + Eternus.
I’ve never once played against a good mirage, I’m in emissary so idk if that’s a factor but he usually leaves or doesn’t do anything to contribute to the match
Deathy, could you go more into how you would suggest to counter the buffed heroes you detail?
Can you do a video similar to your split push video about how to time ganks/jungling out of lane? I mostly solo lane and end up missing too much farm whenever I see an opportunity to get active
Always good to see these
I just checked the stats, haze has a 98% pickrate in my region at my rank, our party is getting a bit of a haze fatigue, we have to make sure haze is in our team by optimizing our picks and if she ends up in the enemy team we have to all commit to focusing her before she becomes an 1v6 monster (which usually happens around 10min). In most games the haze player ends up with 2x the damage of the 2nd highest in the lobby
arcane surge and the eshift buff are rly good for pocket plus his ult antiheal was nerfed way less in comparison to healing
Love your meta updates! Keep it up 💚
Valve needs to mistletoe to vails so we can all kiss like cuties when we run under them
Nice vid dude. I’m just learning haze have a couple games with her. Say, would you recommend the headshot build (elothief) oor the more popular farm, ricochet build ?
you can go any build you'll reck everything during this patch. I personally don't like ricochet on haze, I think it doesn't work with her ult (to be confirmed)
@ thank you brotha
Love these videos Deathy.
I am so glad the deathball lane soul meta is over
That Salty Geist build could use some (any really) annotations.
finally someone acknowledges Haze and the absolutely ridiculous "left-click=delete" she has, just like Wraith tbh
You do realize that everyone thinks that?
@@raphg6319 no because she was labeled as "the worst hero in the game" for almost a year
@@nergal2741 Almost like she got huge buffs this patch and generally considered to be pretty good by everyone afterwards? She got nerfed hard for months and had too many counters before this patch.
@@fair-chance except that she *wasn't* nerfed hard for months lmao. everyone except the toppity top of players already knew she was busted if she just got ahead a little and now they overbuffed her so that she's even op in the tippity top
As a Seven main I absolutely agree, I'm not the most skilled player but I get shitted on by everyone, seven comes online too late and just in big team fights, in 1v1 is kinda weak, unless he has a large soul lead
They could give him some more stamina at least, now it's impossible to get away with anything
@@giuseppec.956 true, is the only hypercarry with no escape ability, and he isn't even that good at hyper carrying in the first place
Great video as always
About the item ammo scavenger.
Do you get spirit power from meleeing a trooper or do you have to finish the trooper with a bullet so you can shoot the orb?
you get stack when punching (because it implicitely secures the soul) and from denizens as well (jungle creeps)
@zilliq thanks
like two days ago, didn't you you repeatedly say on stream how incredibly easy and broken pocket is? im so confused...
i think the most important factor when discussing why spellslinger is bad is the fact that it has such an insanely long cooldown for such a low impact per stack ratio. a 1.5 second cooldown for building up a passive that doesn't even really get useful until 6ish stacks, 9 seconds into a fight. for a post-laning phase item, that is absolutely horrendously bad, especially considering that the condition for stacking is typically achieved many times times in short bursts, not consistently throughout fights. if someone is consistently hitting their headshots throughout a full fight and still dying, a little bit more spirit power probably isn't going to save you. you'd be better off spendihg on mobility, defense, or even sustain or penetration
Yeah I agree, I'd like to see it's cooldown become something like .1 or .2 that can't be modified (like Wraith's cooldown spamming cards is locked at .65), that way it can be built up reasonably quickly without being super good for the automatics or generating a stack per pellet from shotguns.
Did he not say anything about infernus?
No ricochet on haze build?
@@linearmango it turns out "not dying" doesn't win you games. A warden can tank, heal and kill much more than shiv.
@@SirCrusher True, but like if you can tank infinite damage and threaten a good amount of damage makes the character like really good.
seems like a hero they have trouble balancing. Will likely spend most her time in either S or D tier
I still think haze has stupid strong kit. Invis to Sleep will always give you a 1v1 win if you arent completly stupid
The problem with that is good players that have eyes and use them can see she is MIA and should be aware that she can do this. Thus preventing it from happening falls to the players themselves making her weak.
@@BusterBosque which means she's broken at lower ELOs and still very good at high ones.
@@BusterBosque what are you talking about? she is invisible and just throws a dagger at you and does its combo, you instantly die. You cannot do anything about this.
I agree with this geist build it is best to rush kinetic headshot booster and superior cool down without those main items her damage will be lackluster until late game.
HAZE IS BACKK!! RAHHHHHH!!!
Vindicta falls off even more now because of the recent changes to her bird - going for spirit damage doesnt make sense anymore. I think she is not strong anymore.
what kelvin build would you recommend?
I agree with your tier lists much more then Jonas only thing I would change is your Mirage placement as I think he is stronger then most the A tiers just no one plays him in pubs so there is not much data to go by
I think that's kinda what he said in the video. In organized play he's pretty strong, just in your general games he's gonna be kinda alright due to the lack of teamplay
Destroying the first patron decreases any dead player's timer by 20 seconds, with a 10 second minimum (e.g. a player with 12 seconds left will go to 10 seconds, the same way a player on 20 seconds will go down to 10)
Edit: 20 seconds lol my bad
I believe it decreases death timers by 20 seconds with a 10 second minimum if I remember correctly.
The exact wording from the patch notes, is "Killing the first Patron now causes any existing enemy hero respawns to be reduced by 20 seconds. However, it does not reduce remaining respawn time lower than 10s."
It’s 20 seconds……
16:08
As someone who loved Bebop past 20mins I feel offended :D
I recently had a Match where my bomb was at +200 and I felt like God.
Deathy hasnt ever had kelvin in the meta report even though hes been nerfed nearly every patch even if its indirectly
Con confirm that haze is busted again. Just used a hybrid build built around long range and was rolling in Oracle. And when has Pocket not been S tier? lol
Can you do an item tierlist?
yo what's that canvas app called
You forgot the McGinnis tier below Seven
I disagree that Lash falls off. It is usually just that Lash's can't build to save their life so fall off due to failing to build items to scale and counter build. I think he is placed correctly but objective data shows that Lash possess a
I feel like his contribution to teams late-game fall off harder in lower ranks, because in higher-ranks he is basically an ult machine. Can easily change the direction of a fight basically every 60 seconds.
Can anyone recommend a good paradox build
i'm a mcg/geist main. i didn't know geist was that good. prolly 'cos this is my first shooter, but i struggle w/ her gun.
Deathy you are awesome
We need a linkens sphere style item in this game
Bro putting Shiv in S tier is Comedy... Hes comically bad, as supported by the stats. Eternus hes at 40%, and overall at 45%... lowest winrate in the game. I get that winrates arent all that matters but he requires so much more to fall in line to perform well compared to characters like wraith or haze.
ultimately better spot than hes been in for weeks but hes not S tier imo.
I love Deathy 😊
I feel like matchmaking has degraded even more after this patch.
That's just the ranked and unranked being merged as well as the playerbase continuing to dwindle
Yeah it's really bad. I keep getting people who like I haven't played the game in a while or just installed it. MM is the worst of any game I ever played
it feels nearly the same to me in terms of teammate and enemy skill just WAYYY more no mic games lol
I wish Holliday was out. She takes a little too much effort to get value compared to pretty much the entire roster but she's the most fun imo
holiday is insanely broken and I am begging them to not release her in this state
@@goop04 happy hollidays
She does not take effort hello???? You land one headshot in lane and that’s half an HP bar lmfao.
@@appleseed445 yeah if you have a soul lead of 20k. Get real bro
Full agree with the take on seven lol
these 40! minute games are so unbelievably unfun right now, i really hope they dont keep games this long
I dont get it. So bebeop cant be good or else hed be too good? So hes perma c rank then
Same with purge in dota and roadhog in overwatch, by design these characters are unfun for the enemy team (receiving end of the hook) so if they are too strong and get high pickrates the game as a whole becomes unfun. By design these types of character have to stay niche, so slightly below average in overall power.
PER Mo and Krill - Burst is no longer a good item on him - it has to have a LOT of spirit power to get activation
- I recommend Inertia's
Can you recommend me a spirit build for him?
Why do you say that combat barrier does a tremendous amount of damage? I feel like it does ok damage of its price, its a good item because of the item + survivability, is that what you meant ?
I think what he meant is by the time you get it you should be strong enough to 1v1 anyone
Combat barrier gives you +22% weapon damage when it's up for only 1250 souls. That's a crazy price to damage ratio
You should think outside of tournament play more (i mean, the game doesnt even have a draft pick), for example Kelvin is probably one of the WEAKEST characters in solo queue and in a very bad state that most of the kelvin players, high and low elo, seem to agree on.
Infernus mains we are to joever
We should fix seven’s ult
I just wish they would buff pocket's appearance so he wasn't so hard to look at.
WOAH uhm excuse me the correct pronouns are They/Them. (Jk im sorry)

unironically people just sound stupid when they incorrectly reference that character
@@rainbau3352 Who?

@ Asked.
yo im stupid and bad at games what is soul sharing? I thought souls are just split evenly with everyone in the lane
soul are shared (=duplicated, all players get full value) during the laning-phase which stops at 8min, then they split to the formula which changes every patch; but right now it's 100/60/35/25/20/16%, so they split evenly for 1, 4, 5 and 6 players, but slightly more advantageously for 2 and 3 players (60% instead of 50% and 35% instead of 33% so barely noticeable)
I would love to hear Deathy give a more in depth explanation of the significance of the healing/healing reduction changes.
I really want them to change gray talon’s trap back. I really miss it.
Lash still the goat
can haze not be back please? lets go back to the Holiday meta please
I missed shiv
Personally think the devs are just throwing character buffs/nerfs at the wall and seeing what sticks, which I get it's still in a highly developmental state, but I just think they're doing too much. They probably need to touch less knobs on each character when they decide to buff and nerf. The oscillation in hero power is a bit obnoxious IMO and leads to temporary raid boss/dog water characters for no real reason.
Haze is stupid OP in low ranks. Ult needs nerfed.
I don't like being able to parry puddle punch especially if it stuns viscous. It's not powerful enough that the risk reward is worth
Too many shirts in this video.
