The lady complains about the Park Hyatt's restaurants, which are targeted towards domestic tourists that want to experience an authentic western environment, being too western, then proceeds to order the boring western breakfast set instead of the elaborate japanese breakfast set.... while not even mentioning the New York Bar's live music... and not mentioning the architecture of the lobby lounge or the iconic pool/spa area…
shes just mad they enticed her with all the great western selections, she clearly loves them and couldnt resist trading off the eastern food :)
Interesting choices- would be great to have a price comparison too.
Great video. Please do more hotel comparisons. Please also try to apply the same assessment criteria.
❤
Lost in Translation alone makes the Park Hyatt have a head start.
We found our cinephile! We agree!
Even if you aren't staying at the Park Hyatt Tokyo - a visit to the New York Bar w/ live jazz (heavily featured in the movie) is worth the trip!
Stayed at the Conrad a couple of times and love it there! Made some awesome friends there as well! Love the bears that they have for the guests as well as the ducks! Staff was super friendly and always on point! Great location being on the Yurikamome and Oedo lines and a station away from Shimbashi station/Yamanote line. Hamarikyu Garden is such a nice garden to relax in the middle of bustling city. Cannot go wrong there!
Comparing these three, FS wins for me, followed by Park Hyatt and Conrad. The best view IMO would be from Andaz & Edition. Though Tokyo's overall best hotel is no other than Aman. The new Bulgari is also the one to rave for.
It would be nice to have some better points breakdowns. Its rather arbitrary. It would be nice to know how you booked and cost per night. Finally i hope the filming gear can be upgraded for the other two. Its s big step down in quality when the four seasons looks good yet the other two look washed out and blurry
Fun video and I enjoyed the details, not to mention the amazing views from each hotel. Felt like the hotel-equivalent of watching one of your reviews of a first class flight: fun to watch, good info if such travel is within one's budget, but not something I could afford. It's great you made this video, but it might be nice to also include a "premium economy" hotel review to compliment the premium economy flight review (which was great) you made for this trip.
From what I understand, the Park Hyatt is actually pretty affordable in terms of value you get for points redemptions. Then again, everyones budget or definition of affordable is different. But I am planning a trip to Japan and will likely be staying at the Park Hyatt using chase points
Park Hyatt is part of a U.S. based hotel chain so their Steakhouse, New York Grille, is emblematic of that. Many of the steaks are Japanese-grades though.
The final ratings give the impression Conrad sponsored the video. I mean... no matter how nice the experience was, the room in the Four Seasons was much better than the Conrads' one.
The Conrad dude would rate anything 30/30
YOU KEPT YOUR SHOES ON?!?!
Great video! And surprisingly I liked the 4 Seasons the most out of all three but enjoyed the Conrad’s Asian food choices. I do agree with your review that Park Hyatt looks a bit dated overall 😅
doesnt look dated at all
Are there a whole bunch of vlogs that have rich boy corporate types who hire/enslave an army of interns to make content for them? Points Guy, Supercar Blondie and Buzzfeed come to mind.
Ahh, my favorite hotels in Tokyo--Park Hyatt and Conrad!
I love that girl wearing TAYLOR SWIFT SHIRT!! LOVE IT !!! ❤
Conrad review most accurate with Japanese and Chinese food and drinks and most charming reviewer!
Hello, interesting video there! Perhaps for the general TPG followers watching this video, one of the premier Marriott hotels (Ritz-Cartlon Tokyo) would be best based on a points basis.
6:38 Park Hyatt gets bonus points for TV in Bathroom and the Library.
Nicky and his contribution to the Cold Open >>>>>>>>>>>>>
Is there any spa?
Loved the Conrad Tokyo
How do I apply for a job at TPG LOL
Stayed at Conrad tokyo before, its a solid 84/100 not 98/100
Its noisey, breakfast was lacking, location is a little out of the way. Its a great place, but its not a high 90s score. Its a solid mid 80s
Seems there is no Conrad Teddy bear but only the duck in the Conrad room 😢
I like Marc and Madison. And Nicky is great, of course.
Ive stayed at the Conrad in Tokyo - it is above any other Conrad property out there. I would be interested in staying in the other 2 one day
Conrad Osaka is just as nice
Lady thought she was at a Hyatt in the US 🤦♂️
Also Marc is the best 😂 man of culture
Why DVD player? Where can get DVD nowadays? 🤷♂️
And the bearded man seemed impressed with it???
In Japan DVD is still popular and you can buy or rent CD easily here
@@galinad9239 oooo I understand now, thanks 🙏
Hopefully it's both a DVD and Blu-ray player. 😉
Based on the video I would stay at the conrad it looked nice and I can probably use my points. The four seasons looked great but I dont wanna know what that price tag was. I have stayed at the park Hyatt Tokyo-shinjuku. It is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The breakfast area I had the jao breakfast very good. I fell in love with the library. The bed was massive. It wins for the view factor hands down! Also the bathroom was epic (as you open the door to the toilet it lifts the seat , it closes on it's own as well) all the freebies it was ALOT which beats the other 2 hotels. The location is iconic. The check in area was better than the other 2 hotels you get an envelope sitting at a desk and bags are delivered to your room it beats the bustling lobby area. Whopping price tag about 700 a night but it was worth it. I wish the prices were included in the rating
Well, tbf, most toilets in Japan are automated to some degree, without the need for a luxury location.
A room with a DVD player is insane?
Conrad Tokyo is my favorite
Where is Mandarin Oriental
What's up with the quality?
EPIC FAIL VIDEO! How can the Park Hyatt come last? Have you not seen Lost in Translation? Where are the scores for swimming pool and iconic film location? Pretty sure most people would choose the Park Hyatt if they had the money! For relaxing times, make it Suntory times!
Sorry but you lost me at the non-Japanese breakfast
Kinda funny that the four seasons room is bigger then my friends whole house in Japan
Why review the FS when you can't even book it using points?!?! Isn't this channel called THE POINTS GUY? Duh!
