Orchid Garden Update with New Blooms, Maintenance Day and Treating for Thrips

Your nobiles are the superstars of your garden. I see Louise Fuchs is blooming. She is a deva! Hooks on trees is the way to go. It’s like piercing to an ear. Totally safe and very effective. Totally in love with your cranberry and yellow Dendrobium bullenianum. Sevin is the very best. I use it all the time now and I’ve controlled the thrips now for many months. 💪🏼

Hi Blanca, Sevin is a great option. I also use Permatrol which is very effective. Love, love, love the dendrobium nobiles. Gorgeous 😍

Blanca, I always get thrips on my petunias every year. I use Captain Jack DeadBug Brew on them and it works wonders. It's also organic. I haven't tried it on orchids yet, but I know it's safe on annuals. You may want to experiment with that?

You need to plant more Gumbo trees asap.

Everyone you attach to the trees becomes a nonissue during tropical storms and hurricanes.
My other suggestion is to only use stainless steel hooks/fasteners in the trees.
