Hi Blanca, my daughter’s first named orchid that she picked out was oncidium Sharry baby heaven scent. We went to the San Diego botanical garden world of orchids exhibition, she bought us both tickets and drove us there on Mothers Day. We had a great time.

We had a nest containing 4 blue speckled eggs. they hatched and both parents were very busy getting food for the babies. By Mother's Day the babies flew the coup. The nest was completely empty. Both parents always remove the bird droppings and egg shells so as not to attract attention by predators. I purchased 8 Arandas from Dan & Margie and my pink variety also took longer to acclimate to being attached to palm trees. Stay positive rainy season is just around the corner. Your plants will thrive. Have a great time at Redland this weekend.

I envy people with greenhouses and the Costco by me has one that was $500.00 and now is marked down to $200.00, but it’s the size of a small closet. Thinking about it, South Florida is a greenhouse and I guess it doesn’t make much sense to have one, except in rainy seasons.

I love the trial by error method! I used to follow the “rules” but you learn so much more with trial by error and debunk the rules sometime :). Love the idea of a greenhouse, not sure it would hold up in hurricanes, but you have lots of trees to mount on!!! Can’t wait to see your Redlands haul!

Those were mocking bird eggs, and they could have been eaten by snakes, big lizards, other wildlife, or even other birds. And mocking birds will not use the same nest again, but who knows if a different bird might use it.

Ahhh good to know 🙂 I figured birds would like to make their own nests when they are going to lay eggs 💖 yes, I was afraid of that 🥺 they must of gotten eaten whole since not even a cracked egg was found. Hopefully I will see more eggs in the future it was cool how they laid them right inside there.

Definitely! You have many prime areas for bird nest in your yard, so I am sure they will nest in other places in the future, too! 😊
