    Is there a way to keep a hole at the top for a pony tail?

    • @crochet.with.illjay
      @crochet.with.illjay  Год назад +1

      Yes! You can start with a ch of 24, close the loop and begin with round 2.

    What crown size are you figuring for the adult size? After 72 sts I have slightly smaller than 6" crown which is far too small for adult. I am using a 4.5mm hook, not sure if it affects that

    • @crochet.with.illjay
      @crochet.with.illjay  Год назад

      Are you using a medium weight yarn? If so try going up to a 5mm hook size if it’s too small.

    • @crochet.with.illjay
      @crochet.with.illjay  Год назад

      It has to be a multiple of 4 as the the pattern is a 4 stitch repeat. Sizing up with increases may not be ideal, I would still go up a hook size or increase your gauge.

      Rexana, sorry I accidentally deleted your response thinking I was deleting mine 🤦🏼‍♀️ anyway, I have never actually measured the “crown” only the circumference of the finished product. But I am now doing it out of curiosity and my crown is only 5.5 inches at round 7. It still works up to an adult size though…

      Thanks. I ended up pulling out the increases because I could never get an increase to work correctly with the diamond shape. I went with your 72 stitch count and it came out very much a child size for me. Probably will fit a 5 yr old or so. Shame because I really like this pattern and wanted to wear it myself!

      Hmm, ok. Thanks for the feedback. The only other thing I can recommend to to loosen your gauge or use a thicker yarn. I’ve seen a bunch of hats from others come out great, you might just have a very tight tension.

    Hi, how to adjust this for a toddler of 10 month's and a 2 year old?

    • @crochet.with.illjay
      @crochet.with.illjay  3 года назад

      I include Instructions for the infant/toddler size is as I go. Size up to a 5mm or even 6mm hook for the 2 year old. Should be 48 stitch count for these as opposed to 72 for adult.
