I wouldn’t call it forgotten or even underrated. It got a prequel movie and even a sequel series years later. Honestly the most underrated Pixar movie is Onward
@@sonysfan19992 I think Bug’s Life was constantly living in the shadows of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 simply because it was made right in the middle of them and wasn’t nearly as good or popular as both movies. But it’s still REALLY good and the characters are absolutely hilarious.
I could never forget this movie. I was allowed to watch movies in my parents bed On Fridays and Saturdays, when I was little. Everytime the Movie ended, my mother would come in and I would jump on her back, shouting: "Contamination!" While she was carrying me through the rooms. After that my parents would get me into bed.
One of the substitute teachers at my school worked with Pixar an he told us about how Celia and mikes designs were inspired by him and his wife, rn hes working on something else and it kinda reminds me of a book I read

@@gigiisaweirdo8175 Awwww, that's really sad, God bless him, but that's amazing they both used to work at Pixar, makes me wonder if they ever met the production crew for Monsters, Inc.
When I was a kid, I would watch this movie over and over again. Also had a DVD player, so I could watch it in the car. In the setting menu, I would find that the DVD had bonus features where it showed you how they made the movie. From animation, cast, story boards, to a tour of the whole studio building. All on the DVD bonus features, still have it too.
I agree, I think it's been forgotten to an extent, and I don't know why either, I think it has the most genius idea and most creative world. Everything is perfect too, the story, the characters, the voice acting, the score, the sound effects, etc. Plus, it actually has hints of every genre in a way too, it has comedy, sci-fi, fantasy, suspense, action-adventure, drama, and even romance if you count the relationship of Mike and Celia.
I don't think so. I mean just because people don't talk about it all that much doesn't mean it's been "left behind." If anything, thanks to Monsters At Work, I say the franchise is still getting attention after all these years later. And honestly you can say that about any film.
I would not say monsters inc. is an underrated but I would say it is a forgotten it just Pixar has made so many good movies it is predictable that sooner or later one of their movies would be forgotten but monsters inc. should have won the Oscar it was so much better than Shrek.
This video is misleading information. Go to any pixar tier list and you will see monsters inc in the top 5!!! i will ever argue that is more iconic than most of the 2000s pixar movies. The only ones that are more popular are toy story and the incredibles ( cars doesn't count cuz is popular for being bad ). A true underrared one could be Up or Ratatouille.
@@njivwathomassilavwe2056 he said that! Forgotten is equivalent to underrated which is not the case for this film. This film is one of the most iconic pixar films of all time
Cars isn't a bad film, wth? Cars is one of the best Pixar films by a landslide. It's not popular for being bad, it's popular for being a heartwarming and immersive masterpiece that touched the hearts of millions. That film was my childhood man - 2006 was a wonderful, wonderful year for me.
Up is not underrated, either - I'd argue it's the most overrated. UP has been applauded for years because of that one emotional montage at the start of the film, and ever since Pixar fans have considered it the best because it "makes you sad" - and while that is true, it's not a perfect film and that complement led Pixar to making many films in the 2010s which had their big motif being "making you sad" or "making you emotional.' I think it's a long-winded film which feels rather superfluous in places, even if it does certainly hit the emotional notes very well and utmost wholeheartedly - maybe I should watch it again, I don't know. For me, Wall-E is the best Pixar film of all time, and although I wouldn't say it's underrated, it certainly deserves more praise than UP. Wall-E being my favourite isn't just my immense childhood nostalgia talking either - I was a Wall-E fanatic as a kid! - it's genuinely a fantastic piece of art ahead of its time visually, conceptually and thematically.

Gonna be a season 2 to Monsters at Work this year.
i forgot how Dark this movie actually is.
The most underrated is A bug's life
It’s definitely not underrated. People knew how good it was back when it first came out but that was literally 24 years ago.

I mean, considering the insane amount of Memes this move has there's no way in hell it's going to get forgotten
I didn't forget about this movie, or prequel, or Disney Plus series, and I'm really excited for season two of it
I still remember even years later.

Back when having A twist villain meant sonething😂
I’m currently watching this movie right now.
Great video ❤
The one good thing this franchise did was NOT go the route where they have a spin-off animated series
Monsters At Work...
