wow, just wow. swinging bells on the hudsons. the route of the century under bear mountain bridge along the Hudson river. I can't wait for more videos of NYC in Trainz.
Its a promotional vid, the route is just a bunch of scenes stripped together for this video. Most likely it was all deleted after filming.
The Arctic Gamer The scenes are still there, i'd never delete them. I just unfavorite them on the route list and revisit them later. I still reference back to the Cincinnatian video almost 2 years later because I can never remember what retaining walls I used for the Baltimore Station and Tunnelton scenes!

Alright Steve I tweaked some of the numbers in the configuration, kept the cutoff in the 30s, disabled the automatic fireman, and put the coal and water at 100%. Didn't get a chance to reach 100 mph because the acceleration still needs work, but I got it to run much faster than before. I guess the 4-8-4 will give me more of what I want. Lilb's locos reach it in four minutes max, so maybe he might be able to work his magic, I'll see but thank you for the help.
+Alpha King I will be uploading new engine specs for all my engines in the coming weeks. Everything I made before the Frisco 1522 has an inaccurate spec. I wasn't familiar with the e-spec setup before, so now everything I make has a very accurate spec. I'll make an updates page on the website once the 1218 is done and i'll have all new specs posted on there for download. That will solve your problem most definitely.

How can I make the smoke like that on the engine cause I ran it and it makes a huge cloud of smoke and it makes it lag a little bit

Personally i'm not a big fan of the NYC, but i do recognize that its about time that the trainz community get a good NYC engine.
BTW, when are you gonna get on that PRR I1sa? because the trainz pennsy collection seems a bit dull without the coal-hauling 2-10-0s.

The real whistle on some videos sound like Pere Marquette 1225
Depends on what class J, and what time period you listen to. I have audio of Hudsons with an exact sounds in this video, others that have nastier sound like 1225, some with a 5 chime. I just chose the one I felt sounded the nicest.

Just where did you get those Coaches? I would love having those.
I found them on the Download Station under NYC Pullman, These specific ones are used for versions for Trainz Simulator 2009 SP3 and higher
I got this back in 2015, and is there anyway I can get a newer version of the Hudson without buying it again?

So... do the coaches come with the engine? I didn’t see them on the Hudson or Niagara pages. If not, where do you get them (the same goes with the PRR baggage car in the E6 video)?

Question, what type of whistle does a NYC J3a Hudson have during it's working life?
Either a NYC 5 chime or 6 chime. But most likely a NYC 6 chime. I think the 5 chime was the freight whistle.

All NYC freight engines, in addition the L-1, L-2, and L-3 Mohawks used the 5 chime. The K-5 Pacifics and L-4 Mohawks used the 6 chime. The Hudsons used a Nathan 6 chime, and the Niagaras used the Hancock long bell 3 chime (UP 844 and SP 4449 use it also).
@@engineer6325 Streamlined Hudsons wore NYC 5 and NYC 6 chimes (and possibly Nathan 6 chimes) Normal Hudsons wore NYC 6 chimes or a Nathan 6 chimes (All of them are step-top whistles ig)

K&L Trainz speaking of 3751, is there a chance that you might do a 3751 model in the future? I have no doubt that if you did do 3751 it would be just as great as your other locomotives. The detailing on your locomotives really is impressive.

stevelerro Wait, i thought your models were compatible for Windows too because your models work on my Windows 7 in Trainz 12 SP1.
+Pendennis Castle My Trainz models are because there is mac version for me to use and test them on. The windows versions of the games don't work well on my Windows Emulator. Same goes for railworks, I could never test my models in railworks because the game run so horribly. If they had a mac version of the game, I could do all the testing and building for it and then it'd work for windows too.

Too bad the hudsons could only pull 15 cars
Probably one of the reasons why nyc lost a lot of coal because they would have to double head or triple head
The coal loss problem was solved by 1945, when the Central converted all 50 of their J-3a's to use the PT tenders that the Niagaras also used.
