Money is just money Chris. You have spent many years to gather this amazing collection and I know how passionate you are about your collection. The latter is difficult to express in value and I also know how much fun you get from your collection. Even though it sounds like a lot of money, that will also be spent at some point and then you will no longer have a statue left!!
You're absolutely right! The joy and passion behind collecting truly outweigh any monetary value. It's about the memories and experiences tied to each piece!
That’s actually a very healthy attitude to have. You also have more experience buying AND selling than most in this group. It’s all just ‘stuff’ and it’s all replaceable. If you could sell it for 2x and down the road buy it back (if you wanted), or pay off your house etc. Nothing in my personal collection is hand sculpted in clay by Neal Adams with his hand print pressed into the base.. no actual 1/1 grails here, just orders off Sideshow and eBay 🤷♂️ all can be sold if the price is right. It’s the THRILL in collecting that keeps us all going.

Great topic. However, I wouldn't sell my collection for double or triple. With over 30 years of collecting, I have put way too much time and effort into my collection. I understand that they are only material objects, but they also provide me with so much more. The stress relief and the mental wellness they provide me are invaluable. I always make time to make memories and travel, so Im good.

Would definitly not be enough for my collection, lol 😆 having said that, once I displayed all of my collection I am relative certain that after a certain time I will start selling stuff off until I maybe keep 3 to 5 most favorite pieces. I have collected way too many statues over time. Having a separate apartment rented for just displaying these things is crazy, way too expensive and just doesn't make sense, no matter how much you love the hobby. If I could turn time back, after having five pieces I would have started a strict 1 in 1 out rule, which would have saved me a lot of trouble going forward.

I would definitely sell and flip tht money with investment and re-buy the statue and have hella money left over. With tht kind of money and investing it right, u could definitely re-buy everything with so much easy, unless there just not out in the wild at the time😂😂

When you start talking like this youre in the process of selling. It seems to me you lost some of the love of statue collecting around the time the room was completed.
If you combined everything in that room, retail it was probably 100k (dont add up the numbers 😜). It would be a nice payoff to sell everything at once.. not dealing with multiple transactions.. but then as mentioned boxing everything up at once 🫤 Tough decision.

I think the biggest issue is the slow down of statues coming out. It makes the hobby less exciting when you have nothing to look forward to.
