I recently purchased a huge coin collection from a family. Most of the coins we collected prior to 1980. This video features 2 Dansco-style Albums (pre-1970) filled with Key Date, Semi-Key Date Walking Liberty Half Dollars worth a lot of money
The Walking Liberty Half Dollar is a silver coin that was minted in the United States from 1916 to 1947. It is widely considered one of the most beautiful and iconic designs in American numismatic history. The coin was designed by Adolph A. Weinman, a sculptor and engraver.
Key features of the Walking Liberty Half Dollar include:
Obverse Design: The obverse (front) side of the coin features a depiction of Liberty walking towards the sun, with the American flag draped around her. This design symbolizes freedom and optimism.
Reverse Design: The reverse (back) side of the coin showcases an eagle perched on a mountain, with the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "HALF DOLLAR," and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
Composition: The Walking Liberty Half Dollar is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper, giving it a distinctive appearance.
Mintage Years: The coin was minted from 1916 to 1947, with a brief hiatus in 1922 when no coins were produced.
Variations: There are some notable variations in the design, such as the absence of the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" on the initial issues (1916-1940). The motto was added in 1941.

End of Production: The coin was replaced by the Franklin Half Dollar in 1948.
