I think you missed a small point. The epidermis is covered with cuticle and the cuticle is made up of a waxy substance called cutin. It helps to make the epidermis waterproof. If you added this point and i did not listen carefully then i apologize 😞😔.

Yes . Because simple permanent tissue has 2 parts ,that is supportive tissue and protective tissue. Supportive tissues includes parenchyma, collenchyma and sclerenchyma whereas protective tissue includes epidermis and cork.
