I ordered a brand new unopened box, which is the Korean model with 3 cameras, updated to Android 12 straight away. The burgundy red is awesome, very slick. The battery lost around 250 mah per Aida64 at 0 cycles, might be because it was kept in the box for years but it still lasts a day. Charging can be slow though.
With QHD OLED panel, fingerprint sensor at the back, secure face identification using ToF sensor, nice haptics, decent cameras with manual video and focus peaking with directional microphones, thay godly compact design, SD card slot, MIL810 and IP68 rated, a headphone jack and the Quad DAC which makes my trashy wired earphones sound otherworldly, I chose this over similarly priced budget to midrange phones.
    Downsides:
Slippery, can't find a case with a cutout for 3 cameras, speaker not that good if handheld but sounds nice on a flat table or desk, stuck at Android 12, 4G only, face ID slower than my main Mate 40 Pro's. Slow charging, I'm used to my main's 66W.
With all the downsides, I mean, what is not to like, even if software updates were discontinued, the apps are still supported and all the apps I need works fine, this is the one I use most of the time due to how comfortable it is.
    Cheers.

The G8 and S10 5G both have Snapdragon 855. Both have 60hz refresh rate. Both got Android 12 update. Neither have software support anymore. G8 is significantly lighter, and rear fingerprint is flawless.
Advantage of the S10 is 5G and bigger battery. The G8 has a quad dac for superior sound quality. I own both, like both, and still use the G8 as my main device. Prefer that it's lighter and smaller. Like it better than my S21.

Hello. Can the battery of G8 still give you 6 hours of SOT?

😅 this is a badass phone and I would totally recommend that anybody who's looking for a phone buy one better than any mid-range phone you can find

I so loved the phone, especially the 1440x3120 display, the seamless integration with other LG devices and extreme water residtance. I miss the laser of the G3. I still have mine sitting around, that I occasionally use for changing the channel on TVs from a block away.

Just got one for about 80 dollars....i like it but I find it too old ... Do you think I should keep it or return it back to the seller?

@@medfidell3930 how am I going to give you opinion and what you should do with your phone I find that yeah you'll gain a new version of Android but you'll miss out on a bunch of features. I like having a flagship with a 3.5 Milky and if you're a music lover the dark is worth it alone.. Snapdragon 855 will blow through any tasks and midrange phones will not touch this old phone ..pixel 8 a is nice foe

@@medfidell3930 I loved the G8 which I got through Sprint for their 4G CDMA network, but It is not compatible with TMobile 5g and is only 3G on GSM. If you have an unlocked 4G GSM version, it is still very useful. I still use mine for taking photos and use on my home wifi.

You're forgetting about in my opinion the biggest reason to buy a G8 is 2024, and that's the headphone jack. Inside the G8 is lG's patented "quad hifi dac" which can drive high impedance headphones, and offer great sound quality. It also works well an an emulation machine, a big beautiful screen pared with an 855 yes please!

G3 was a great phone but the thermal cracks that naturally occurred was killer and Verizon and other carriers screwed customers over when claims were made

Try a phone out and not give an opinion just by what you've read online.. I'm listening to you with full size headphones using the quad dac on Android 12.. Yes I'm on my old LG G8 .. Man I forgot how much I loved listening to music with my TTR headphones!! Again, I'm on my G8 on Android 12. My Motorola Razr Plus hinge shot craps after warranty so I grabbed my trusty g8. This phone is an absolute steal of a phone for the $125 you can get it for on Fleabay. Sure beats the Razr I paid full price for that lasted 14 months or so.. Just long enough to get out of warranty and no hifi dac to listen to good headphones. Just having it for music files is worth the price of admission!!
