Hi Johnny, My husband and I really love watching your videos. I was born in Kyiv and lived in Obolon' until 1995 when my parents and I immigrated to Cleveland, OH. I was 6 years old. I've gone back just once, in 2008. I can't wait until I can bring my American husband to Ukraine and show him the beauty of my country, my city.
Thank you for your videos, thank you for showing all the things Ukraine has to offer, for educating and enlightening people about Ukraine. Thank you for all your generosity and support of the Ukrainian troops (the drones, the vehicles). Thank you for walking shelter pups. You do this about of the kindness of your heart and out of love for Ukraine. Ukraine is lucky to have you!
Hello neighbor im in Dayton Ohio!
Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦
How sweet! Hoping you can visit your homeland soon. From a neighbor in Wisconsin 🇺🇦
👏👏❤💙💛💪Love from Canada!!!
Thanks for the nice comment, I hope that day comes soon!
I comment under a lot of your videos, long time viewer and just wanted to thank you for probably the hundredth time for your videos. I enjoy living vicariously through your perspective. Eastern Europe is possibly my favorite area on Earth and even your supposedly "boring" daily life of walking around outdoors is actually the exact content I look for. I can imagine myself if i were in a different situation financially or varying life circumstances where i would be seeing the world as you, living your experiences and forming your memories. My life kinda sucks and each day is a battle, you make it a bit better. Im not sure if any of this makes sense or if I sound insane but i just wanted you to know that your content has measurably benefited my life and I would love to someday have the opportunity to do some of the things you do or even meet you. Thanks Johnny.
Hey Mike, i'm glad you enjoy my videos. I was in a unhappy situation as well before I started traveling. I think you'll enjoy my book 12 weeks in Thailand: by Johnny FD. You can find it on Amazon. I hope your life and happiness improves in the upcoming year, 2024 is a near beginning.
Great vid, Johnny, thank you! The doggies are my fave and the Autumn all around you there. That cool leash trick really made me laugh))) When I used to walk the dogs, they had a funky habit of walking the other side of whatever and then stopping to look at me as though it was *my* fault 🐕🤦♀ I so swear they do that as a special dog game! Those doggies are just sooo gorgeous, and their eyes and temperaments... Aww! 😍
Yes, nature needs her respite season, though it can trigger some curious emotions when leaves are falling and flowers all but disappear. That said, the skeletons of some trees and the new light they let through are also beautiful. Then there are berries on some plants. They say here in the UK, that if there are lots of berries, it means a cold Winter. But some years there are a lot of berries and unexpected mild Winters... so maybe Mother Nature also gets confused by random old climate change?
Nightwear, wear what *you* feel best in, I say! I like anything long enough to pull over my knees. Men's large long-sleeved PJ tops are cool for that reason. Cautionary note, some can shrink and leg-warmers belong in that old movie, 'Flashdance' 😂
Daywear. I wear what's comfortable and what I like. I'm usually pretty resilient to the current fashion police's attitudes. It's not their money that buys my clothes, it's mine 😎 Maybe the pandemic lockdowns changed people's attitudes towards clothing a bit? It's nice to have things to wear for certain occasions, that make you feel different to how you normally feel in casual wear. But it's oh so nice to get into sloppy joes at home!
Johnny been a subscriber for years still loving your layed back days in Ukraine 🇺🇦 while going thru housing crisis🇭🇲for 7 months thru winter and spring in my sons borrowed canvas camper trailer with another son and our two cats 10 and 15 the oldest cat was stressed as no freedom here so he left yesterday to be minded with my youngest son at his house so relieved hes safe till we get a home hardest year ever lots of love subscriber Australia ❤
I recently (just back 2 days) been in Ukraine, Odessa, Kharkov and Kyiv. And I saw Johnny FD with his friend walking at the side of the main post office in Kyiv. I decided not bother, because I was on the way to buy some stamps. In Kyiv it looks really quite normal and the war seems far away, only the memorials they put up remind of war. In Odessa it was different and of course in Kharkov, where the Russians aren't far.
Was this a holiday?
@@s125ish Yes. I wanted to know how it is - now I know. I talked to a lot of persons, got impressions. Talked even in Kharkov to a pro-russian girl, which told me this Russian myth, USA was on the way to invade and Russia had to act first. Lol Btw. in Kharkov the school is held in the metro underground (in this floor, where the shops are).
@@quentinmunich9819How long were you there? I've always wanted to go to Kharkiv. Is that where you mean when you say Kharkov? Because that's how a russian would say it.
@@1justme Yes I was in Kharkiv, in Germany we say Charkiw. Харкив in Ukrainian. Has still a lot of Soviet flair, the older people speak Russian, the younger try to switch to Ukrainian. I felt rather safe. The hardest time for this town was in the beginning of the war, it was nearby surrounded by the Russians. But now... Okay they still get some rockets, but it is a big town. For my short visit of 4 days it was a rather small risk. But this town is still populated and lot of people are still living there.
@@1justme Hello. I'm from Kharkiv and want to tell you one thing. Better to visit our city from May to October, because this time is the best to check our beautiful green parks (we have a lot of them). In other time, it's pretty cold and grey city, only restaurants are good to visit =)
About safety, sometimes we got missle attacks, yes, but it's not a big deal, you will feel ok, it's not dangerous now like it was 1+ year ago.
Thank you for a relaxing video! I SO identified with the pajamas and the kitchenware! Any place feels like home as long as I have a big bowl, chopsticks and a renge (that is what we call those spoons in Japan - I think it comes from 蓮華 because the nice ones had that Chinese lotus flower design using translucent pieces).
Oh interesting they're called Renge (lotus flower) in Japanese! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
@JohnyFD mate, you’re funny! Being a Mongol warrior, you need a ladle not a spoon😂😂. Thank you for volunteering to walk the sheltered dogs 💪💪 Your generosity is as big as your heart & soul⭐️ Buddy, 1 day I would love to meet you in Ukraine for a beer & an extraordinary chat. You& your fellow companions on YT would have some incredible stories to tell 🥇 Take care & Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦💪💪
I agree with you. Johnny has a wonderful heart.
And everyone has selfish reasons for doing stuff. Even good things. The dog situation benefits you all so a win win.
Hello Johnny and All. First a salutory reminder if you are an ex-pat in Ukraine. Always pay any fines no matter how small ASAP. Short version: I was caught speeding in a village in Rivne. I was only a few miles/hour above (no excuse) and the officer was very nice about it - gave me the smallest fine he could he said. About $9. My Ukranian wife said she paid it that today but must have forgotten because fast forward a year and I was entering Ukraine at Ubla, Slovakia. I need to get our car out so a cousin-in-law drove across Ukraine to the border and I met him there. I got refused with a 3 year entry ban (!) Only a year later did my lawyer get to the bottom of why and just today after paying the $9 (!) we had the news that Rivne State Migration Service have annulled the ban. Moral of the story? Always, always, always pay any official fines ASAP !!
Thanks to anyone who read this far and could I ask if there are any busy (hopefully english language) forums or other social media pages that ex-pats in Ukraine frequent?
The dogs are great ❤️🐶Thank you for helping out the animals!
You're welcome. they're amazing. If you missed it, here's the previous dog video: ruclips.net/video/3Yp77RH2fhw/видео.html
Johnny I really enjoyed this "everyday" video. It's my everyday life, too. Walking dogs, shopping, etc.
Don’t know if you can get in Ukraine, but Little Giant makes some really versatile ladders for all heights and collapsible/lightweight. I’ve 18 foot ceilings, and am a weak middle aged lady, so my little giant works well for me 💃😂
Glad you’re doing ok. Thanks for the update 😊
You're doing great, Johnny~ I let mine drag-leash with harness...just step on the leash if they start sniffing for raccoons, etc. One time I let mine go and they got deep in a brier patch fighting a raccoon...horrible
13:58 🤭Johnny is gonna get too many ceramic spoons from everyone everywhere all at once.
I just need one. 🥹
🥰thank you for walking the dogs! 💋
Johnny: Stop, the Dogs: No speak English... LOL
I thought that too. He should learn some Ukrainian doggy commands. But maybe stop is universal. I wouldn't know.
In ukranian language the word "stop" sounds like "stiy" - very similar. So dogs understood him. More over dogs react more on intonation and unverbal signs - face, body and arms position so these smart dogs understud him good .
@@narodobotimperii7974 You ALL taking this too serious it was meant in fun as HUMOR Johnny is a smart guy he gets it. Lighten up, have fun and SLAVA MONGOLIA
We missed you ! I was really wondering if you were okay !
I put my PJ’s on before bed, but take them off to sleep. Put them back on when I get up lol. They are nice to wear around the house before you have to go do stuff and just chilling at the end of the day.. winter I wear a T-shirt in bed so my shoulders don’t get cold.. pjs only have to be soft and comfy I don’t care what they look like. 😊
“I’m looking for shittier clothing” 😂 I LOVE TARGET 🎯
Johnny, glad you like the poochies. Are you teaching them English? Remember they’re Ukrainian pups…what nice companions. I don’t have much of dog vocabulary: so-ba-ka (dog), toot (here), dough dom-u (to home)….. so nice of you to get them fresh air.
19:48 The right word is "melancholic".
Thanks! Yes, "melancholy" was the word I was looking for.
Fantastic, you are still dog walking ❤
💙 💛 SLAVA UKRAINI JOHNNY 💙💛💪
Great cause you do helping out animals. Love it. God bless you. Great videos as always. 👍
These are the best video's Johnny. 💪 You are good at it.
Hey man, 😊😊😊😊😊 soooo great to see your face again.
Had no idea you were still in Ukraine. I've been dealing with my own depression, never leave my house either. Now that it's may ,I'm going to try my hardest to go for walks ,only thing is I live in the country. It's a small town in Alberta, Canada. But the bugs outside freak me out. I just don't want to look like an idiot running down the street, waving my hands because some bug is chasing me. With my luck people will think I am waving to get help, WHEN REALLY IM RUNNING FROM SOME BUG. LOL Anyway I sleep in shorts and a tee shirt.
I guessed right on you.
Hope you continue putting up videos, it's kind of refreshing watching you shopping 🛍 or dog 🐕 🐕 🐕 walking.
Hope you think about coming back because I love your videos . Stay well. Until next time. CATHY, FROM CANADA.
Hi Cathy, thanks for watching. Don't let the bugs deter you from living life, there are ways to get over that phobia.
@JohnnyFD I've been like this all my life.. I've closed myself off from all my family for 3 or 4 years now.
I'm 67 years old and just watching your videos and watching everything happening in Ukraine fills up my days.Hope with all my heart ❤️ that this horrible war ends soon. Ukraine has suffered enough. And too many people are gone . It's a shame, they should be here with their families.
Putin needs to pay with his life.
Sorry for ranting Johnny.i need to start thinking positive. 🤔 TRULY SORRY 😞
It's never too late to open up again! Trust me!
Glad to see that wind storm didn't blow you away.
Where clothes are made and by whom should be a consideration rather than price per say, within reason.
Consumer activism 🤔😉👍🙋🇦🇺
I follow Jake every day. And also Reporting from Ukraine.
Johnny goes shopping and walks the dogs. Takes a break from war talk. Contemplates winter lounge wear.
Man, Californians are weird, no concept of seasons?! But yeah, bare forest can feel melancholic, that is why I prefer pines. Love Jake's channel, also highly recommend ATP Geopolitics by Johnathan MS Pears for regular war updates.
Northern California has seasons, but California is huge. People from around LA and San Diego are going to be use to nice weather year round.
Hiya Johnny you're a great conversationalist! Thankyou and keep up the good work!
Fun to see, the nature looks similar to where I live, in Canada.
I think your green jersey is lovely Johnny! Not drab at all. But it's nice to get some new stuff sometimes and Kyiv definitely could do with some economic help from your spending😊
I enjoy watching you walk the dogs 🐶 something to do
I just love that panda hat on you oh my gosh! 😂
I'm a old guy, sleep with a T-shirt and boxers and it gets to -30 C here lol
Looks like you were in my neck of the woods. You should have gone to dreamtown, they have an outlet intersport there.
When the war is over and you find a comfortable country house to relax in, you will need a few dogs to walk about the village every day Johnny
Enjoyed this video and previous ones. Some left to watch. Short pyjamas in summer and long when it's chilly.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Can you visit your friends in other places or maybe even check out places like Czech Republic? No, it's probably healthier to wear pajamas because if you throw your sheets off in the middle of the night you won't get as cold or get up for a drink.
Thank Gord there was a food break but wow those were wide aisles.
I hate shopping so i always order found out Ralph Lauren XL fits me so i only buy that...great work with the dogs!!!
It was interesting to see the reaction to my hometown
Hello 👋 JOHNNY 💪
SLAVA 🌻 HEROYAM 🇺🇦🔱
Troyeshchina market is the cheapest one 😄
After a few earthquakes in California, I slept in PJ or sweat pants. Now I live on 4500 km from Calif, but I still, usually, wear boxer style underwear while sleeping. I think if I lived in Ukraine with the threat of Orcs, I would wear something to bed.
no doubt
I'd carry a pocket sized mace/taser
You doing a great job, Johnny 👍
You can knit or crochet a sweater for a few dollars using a Vogue pattern.
Decathlon has good quality winter items but seems a bit overpriced . My hubby is 70 and doesn't own pyjamas & stays in Scotland 😂
Those dogs are just happy to be out of the pound and they don't want to jeopardize any future outings by misbehaving ...
7:16 Brick and mortar stores pay overhead - heating, cleaning, sales people, etc. -- online has lower costs and no shoplifting.
Decathlon in Spain charges the same amount in their brick and motar stores, it's not an online only price.
Pajamas are good for when you have company or are staying with company so you're not walking around in your boxers... Also good in the winter for lounging. I still typically will end up sleeping in my boxers.
Excellent choice with the "deep" bowl lol, and what a great way to help by walking the dogs!
Agreed. I always feel strange being in my boxers when I have friends over, even guy friends.
You need to go back to Thailand. Life was better back then, also better content
I enjoyed your day, especially with the pups! 👍💙💛❤️🇺🇸
The garbage makes it look like home to me. A bad part of the UK is the littering. Truly we have some very anti social muckers in this country. It annoys me greatly. I pick up what I can but it seems never ending.
Thanks for the video and showing us life in Ukraine.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I s Amazon accessible n Ukraine? I have Prime and it has become my ''go to'' store now that my in my mid 70s. Edited to add During the warm weather I sleep in ''my little bare skin'' in winter flannel nightgowns.
Yes and no. You can technically order from Amazon but it takes 2-3 weeks and usually costs $15-$20 extra per package/item, so it's not worth it.
I was afraid of that.
The nerd in me wanted you to check out the toy department for some Action Figures.
I thoroughly enjoyed the video.
I'm glad!
One thing though looks nice but where are all the people?
Hey Johnny. Just about to watch your video. Always save the best for last.🎉
At last, yea, we missed you! There was some video yesterday from you, but it was deleted?
Go Johnny Go 😊
Good to see you. Glad you're only bored
As a person living in a cold city in Winter, Canberra Australia, it often seems that you choose clothes that are not warm enough for Ukraine Winter. Spend a bit more and buy real winter clothes. Wearing pyjamas in Winter is a good start. 😂
У вас теплее конечно) но и в Киеве не так холодно, в прошлом году на новый год было +15)
Johnny, show us Ukrainian nature such as parks, rivers, forests, meadows, etc. Show us the people of Ukraine going about their lives. Visit the "hoods". Just a random walk down a random street is good content. Make observations, give us your opinion. You know, vlog stuff.
Probably we do not have hoods or ghettos.
But he has a video on the channel where he visited "sleeping areas", not the city center, and areas that had a bad reputation in the 90s.
@@v-e-y By "hoods" I meant old run down buildings.
I live in Hawaii-in underwear.
war time pricing.... keep up your good work.
It was this price at Decathlon before the war.
You're a good guy, Johnny FD. Sometimes I get a feeling about dogs and men, that they're just really good.
Good job Johnny😃Love❤from Canada💙💛💪🤛
It’s weird how shops are the same everywhere
You mean the layout and look, or the actual name brands? We do live in a global world. =)
@@JohnnyFD just the layout and look. When you are in a major store you could just as easily be anywhere
Hey Johnny, hope all is well
Johnny, its getting cold, time to go back to🐘 Bali.
I hate Bali. I've been 3 times. I'd much rather go to Thailand, Sri Lanka, or somewhere better and more authentic. Here's my thoughts on Bali: www.johnnyfd.com/2017/03/travel-guide-to-canggu-bali-vs-chiang.html
you can buy a small bow and use it as a spoon.
You could get your building manager to do it for you or your cleaning lady husband might have a ladder he could bring and change it for you
That song that was playing in the background of the 3rd store you went into is such an great song I haven't heard it in so long, maybe someone can tell me the name of the band
Johnny, in California you don't have to pay for goods (under $950), all free!!
And you don't even have to run. California is so concerned about the oppressed that it's oppressing everybody. Creating store "deserts" because stores aren't as dumb as politicians.
Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦🇺🇸 Слава ЗСУ🇺🇦🇺🇸
5:56 What's the point of those mounds? Tripping old people?
So cars don't drive past...
Im sure if you lived in the States you would shop at Walmart. Johnny. 👍😼😎🇺🇲
I like Target better than Walmart
I like Target MUCH more than Walmart as well. Target is better organized, cleaner and better staffed.
Walmart and or Target are both cheap. Your kind of place. Mine also.
Or CostCo. Buy a year's supply of something!
Pj's are great for lounging and should you have to get up and run for your life during a bombing, at least you're not just in your boxers or your buff! Shop till ya drop, but stay safe always!❤🫂🥰🖖
Kia Soul looks like a baseball cap! We got a bunch of them in electric here in Norway
The on-leash/off-leash method will work fine... until they meet a squirrel 😆
Puma NA is based in Boston.🇺🇦🇮🇱🙏🕯🌻🇺🇸🇬🇧🇨🇦🇪🇺🇦🇺
Don't know if you have Under Armour there, but they support Ukraine.
Some places sell it, but it's overpriced.
@@JohnnyFD Good man, keeps an eye on value. As much money as I get, I won't be snookered on price unless the value matches.
I officially confirm there are Under Armour outlets here in Ukraine😊
Pajamas are for aesthetics only 😂 I’m a boxer/tank top person but buff is better, when I’m not feeling any fear. 🕺🤷♀️💃 There’s research affirming our body heat, plus a shield/cover like a top medium blanket, keeps us warmer than clothing. Meaning, scarce clothing blanketed well is ideal to keep body temp perfect for sleep.
I sleep in shorts and tee - I need jams
lol i thought you started running when the detector went off ..... glad you good dude
The obvious problem with trailing leashes is that they can get dragged through dog excrement, or get urinated on by the dog itself.
In which case someone has the job of cleaning them.
It could also present a problem if the dog gets into a fight with another dog.
Here in the UK, if you don't have your dog on a leash in public, you are regarded as not being in control of it, with all the legal consequences that may follow.
One of my neighbours had another dog attack her dog whilst out walking it.
The Dog Warden couldn't do anything about it because she did not have her own dog on a leash.
Pajamas, always reminds me of those old Rock Hudson/Doris Day film comedies.
Have you ever been to Brovary?
Definitely enjoyed the video and hanging out with you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I did too.
Nice video, but how are the people there living such a nice life considering their country is at war? Shouldn’t everyone and everything be put into service in some way to support the war?
War is complicated. Yes, I agree that I also think Ukraine should had went into a full War Economy from the start, but then again that comes with the downsides of all businesses shutting down and more civilians leaving. It's complicated.
Gotta love a man who shops.
I buy mens sweat shirts and sweat pants. If it’s below 76° F, I’m usually freezing…and I gotta have at least a sheet or afghan over me.
Keep safe.
💜💞💙
.
P.S. get the larger bowl. You don’t have to totally fill it up 😉
I sleep in short.
Wow you are still there! It has been a while.
You need a Pho bowl with a Pho spoon!
What, now one is breaking your windows and taking your stuff, only in America? What happens to destructive thieves in Ukraine?
You don't need a ladder. Use a chair
I don't have a 12ft high chair. 😂
Greetings from Istanbul
I accept you as a human being I'm naked
i like the dog thingy did it here shapoo john nice huh :)
