I'm showing you guys how to take an old pair of pants, and turn them into a killer, drawstring dress... perfect for SUMMER!
This is a super simple pattern and super simple construction, making it ideal for beginner sewers.
This is actually one of the first dresses I made when I was learning.
The most ideal pants to work with are wide or straight leg. Skinny jeans will not be great of this because you have really limited fabric.
Stretch fabric is also ideal. It will make the pattern even more forgiving!
    MATERIALS
    1 Pair of pants
    Fabric Scissors
    Pins
    Sewing Machine
Drawstring of some sort (ribbon, chain, shoelace, whatever!)

I Love these kind of videos. When you turn one piece of clothing Into another. I've been doing this thing where you rewire your brain to be happy by simply recalling 3 things you are Thankful for every day for 21 days. I'm on day 15. Today one of my 3 on the list was ... I am Thankful for Orly Shanis videos every Friday!! 😂😂 Hey, I really do look forward to them. So I'm telling the truth. 😊

I love this style of "Fits Everywhere Touches Nowhere" dress for summer.
As a 10 year old (mum finally let me use her industrial machine) I made myself about half a dozen or so of these to wear as summer nighties. The best part is they don't need a lot of fabric - just double your length - and you can use whatever you have at hand...old mismatched summer/cotton sheets, lawn/poplin, percale voile, whatever...and they are quick to make, just run the side seams, finish the armholes (in one piece) and turn down the casing and your done! 10 minutes per piece - tops. Easy Peasy!!
If you want to get a little more adventurous with you sewing, you can add a sleeve (fitted or puffy w/ elastic cuff) with a continuation of the drawstring casing, or a cold shoulder finish...the possibilities are endless...depending on your fabric choice, this could be a year round style... :))
sorry, I did it again, off on a tangent... :]
