- Objectively speaking, this is the very best Rolex GMT Master 2 pre-ceramic configuration. That said, it's - like - my opinion, man.
Bonus: learn to choose watches from the perspective of a one-watch guy.

Great video Austin. The scenario made me laugh out loud. Completely with you up to the choice of the bezel insert. My 16710 was originally a Pepsi, but I am with you on what I think of it. I changed it at the RSC to the Coke, but have just changed it again to the all black. I think that’s what I am going to stick with. I just love its simplicity and it’s versatility 😁👍

Another great video Austin! I'd have to agree with you that if it were up to me, I'd choose the Coke beezel as well, but as phor the bracelet, that jubilee is mighty tempting.

7:00 - too right. I have had every Rolex Steel Sports model except the Milgauss and the Deep Sea, sometimes several iterations of them, and what I now wear daily is the very watch you were showing. A 36mm Datejust 126200 with a blue face. Except that I chose mine on jubilee, as it is extremely comfortable, but much more solid in its current form. The clasp is also markedly improved and won't open unexpectedly. Absolutely classic design, plain for some, but perfect for me. Also agree with you on the coke bezel: if I was to get a sapphire crystal GMT Master, that's the color I'd chose. Pepsi can be a bit lout, all black too similar to a Sub.
By experience its nice to hv several options to wear. But the decisions to choose what to wear, it tireing as well. The GMT is perfect in the modern world with connections to various parts of the globe. All black is fine, as polar in Explorer 2 is... Cheers Achim, Singapore+

Hey I've been keeping an eye on ebay, a no date black sub 2018 model sold for after fees just £200 over retail, so nearly two years of holding on and yea it's not lost money but it's hardly made a fortune! There was also a 2019 black sub date listed for £8000 and it didn't sell, no bids! A black GMT master II sold for only £7800 which after he's fees is only £6715. Which I'm not sure but I think that's a pretty nasty lose! All had box, full papers from sellers with high feedback etc etc! Multiple multpe multiple Batman's listed for £11995 none of them are selling, no bids, they have to keep relisting them! I'm holding my cash to hoover up the odd Rolex when the crash happens within first six months of 2020! Oh btw I I enjoy your channel and videos, so am not being toxic just posting my surprising observations.
Thanks for the rundown on prices. I hesitate to speculate on exactly what it means: some would say the market is adjusting, others would say the bubble is popping, and others would say the bubble is slowly deflating. I will say, that if you're a speculator with money tied up in a watch you really can't afford, you have to be a little hot under the collar at the moment. It'll be interesting to see what happens!
@@watchsymposium hey, yea sorry if it sounded like I am preparing to be a vulture if a big crash happens. I really sincerely hope no genuine buyers who felt forced to buy gre market rates will lose out if there is a big drop! I more meant the big flippers with say ten Batman's etc! That I'd be ready to buy if they need to drop their prices massively. But yes especially those big speculators/flippers who have bought like I said ten steel sports I imagine they as you say are getting a little worried! I just thought you might find it useful the prices I noticed on the UK eBay. Of course like you say it's all very much getting a bit jittery as to what the market will do! P.s apologies this message is not formed very well!
No worries! And don't think you're a vulture at all - you're just watching the market, and trying to make a reasonable purchase in a pretty unreasonable - but highly entertaining - market. You know, you might be right. That Pepsi color scheme being the Pan Am colors is just something I heard, and internalized as fact. Lol, I reserve the right to be wrong. I think we need more research in that department...

When it comes to the current models I think the BLNR is my favorite. I liked the All-black, but wasn't keen on the green accents, however small they were. If ceramic all black had had an red (or even blue) 24 hour hand then it would have loved it.
Surprised you were that bothered by that little hint of green. I get your dislike for the hulk but you really must not like green. Lol
I do have a bias against flat green. I'm working on that. But I really like the Kermit. The sunburst nature of the bezel is pretty amazing, and the the bezel alone being green isn't as overkill as its successor.

That makes total sense; they are already pretty similar looking watches so the more you can differentiate them the better. (There's always the Jubilee option to further the distinction.)
