Hi Austin, its ben a while however I am coming to Tokyo on Wednesday 10 July staying at Hilton - I am watch shopping so if you wish to hook up let me know. Do come for dinner at Hilton with me - Simon from Thailand
Hi Simon, good to hear from you, and hope you're doing well! Shoot me an email, and let me know how long you'll be in Japan. As always, my contact info is in the description of my videos. And for anybody reading this, check out Simon's Ex.2 watch hunt here: ruclips.net/video/CwJCZvnaLS0/видео.html
I’m a black dial 16570 lover. I prefer the contrast and the shine of that comes from those white good indices. Makes the watch far more versatile in terms of wearing on different occassions imo.

Excellent video! Super informative and your knowledge is a treasure. If I was watch shopping in Japan, I'd definitely want you by my side for your guidance. I gotta say the video was inspirational as well. I've been itching to buy something similar but am lost with what is a random serial number and absolutely don't have the capacity to inspect like Austin.
Yes, that 16710 (P serial from around 2000) was born an All black, with an Oyster Bracelet. I got the Jubilee bracelet through RSC. These days it's still on the Jubilee, but now has a Coke service insert that I also got through RSC.
Thanks for watching! That's right, I do go on watch hunts with people here in Japan. If you ever have plans to come, reach out via email (in the description of my videos), and I'll tell you how it works.
What cool watch would you recommend looking for for around 500-1000$ in Japan If I'm more into vintage dress watches which has great value outside of Japan? Manual or automatics. Are there big differences in king seikos etc.?
What's interesting is that this gentleman just got back his Ex.2 with the new polar dial, and it's a normal one. I had always wondered if he was going to get back a thin frame polar dial, but he didn't. So, they really were just anomalies back in the day. By the way, that watch at the beginning that sold before we could get to it - the one with the extra dial; that extra polar dial was a thin frame dial.
Great video! Exact watch I am looking for, but for less than 1m, no box or papers, but beautifull finish. Alternative Zenith, Panerai, Jaeger Le.Coultre. Will be in JP September. Is it possible? How do I reach you for a shopping?
Thanks for all the great content, bro. I haven't got Rolex money yet, although I am going to japan next week to buy my first grail watch (Tag Heuer Carrera calibre 1887) and either an Omega Speedmaster, Breitling Navitimer or IWC Portofino. Can you recommend any stores that sell these watches at good prices? Also, what watch would be your top pick in Nakano for $3k?
Thanks for watching! I always say go for the piece, not any particular store. As for a great watch for less than 3 grand, I'd be going for a Tudor. They have that Rolex connection, that Rolex DNA, and are fantastic bang for buck. I'm not sure if you'll find any in Nakano, but one of my personal favorites is the Tudor Hydronaut Ref. 89190. In my opinion they are seriously undervalued: ruclips.net/video/aIublZcS3aY/видео.html ruclips.net/video/3Mf5cbCnhEs/видео.html
@watchsymposium The Hydronaut with the nacro dial is a thing of beauty. They should've come from the factory like that, 10/10. Now I'm in a weird place where I consider your nacro dialled Hydronaut to be a 'proper' Hydronaut as all the steel bezel standard dial ones look cheap by comparison. I have, however, decided to go for the Hydronaut with either the blue dial & blue bezel or the black dial & black bezel (89190 p). Supposedly, there is a model that was made for 1 year only (1998-1999) that does not have the words Hydronaut or Tiger on the dial. I tried googling it but only saw a yellow dial like this, which was identical to one of the dials on the options list with your nacro dial. Anyways, thanks for taking the time to reply and for the recommendations, much appreciated buddy.

Correct choice with the black dial
Correct decision on a beautiful Exp 2 .
I’m a black dial 16570 lover. I prefer the contrast and the shine of that comes from those white good indices. Makes the watch far more versatile in terms of wearing on different occassions imo.
Perfect, I prefer the black dial in this model myself.
Agreed.
Polar is definitely better for modern Exp ii like 226570. However for 16570, I think black is a better looking piece!
he hit a 3 ! - these watch hunters are so lucky to have you as their point guard - ~ JDS/CT
Great video Austin, helping another viewer find that needle in a haystack
Thanks for watching!
Superb watch for all the reasons mentioned.
Much appreciated!
He made the right choice

I have been waiting for any GMT II, for an AD for the last 10 years. LOL…keep on waiting
I have that 16570 3186 polar random serial😊😊😊
👀looking good 👍
Excellent choice. Three requirements for picking a five-digit Rolex: condition, condition, condition.
Last picture. A Former All black GMT with jubilee? Online oyster was Original?

The KIng returns!
Japan is a good place to buy a used Rolex thanks to the cheap Yen(?)
New to the channel, but the YT algorithm has been 💯 lately. Is this a service you provide? I’m also looking for a 3186 polar w/box & papers.
Thanks for watching!

I've got a 3186 polar with a thin frame dial (easier to spot on the polar) G serial - you're viewer might also have that dial type

*falls to knees, weeps uncontrollably*
He could have bought my 2008, 3186 Exp II. Full set.
You wouldn't want to sell that, would you?
Any idea where I can buy a jubilee bracelet for a GMT 16710 in Tokyo?
Your cheapest option will be to take your 16710 to RSC, and get it through them.

So many long adverts 😨 almost unwatchable video 😓
Google are very bold with ads these days. Nothing more annoying than an ad within the first min of the video 😢
Blame google and report the ADs to them.😂
did the last references get a machined clasp?
5:23 THEY'RE CALLED DRILLED LUGS OR NON DRILLED LUGS!! Embarrassing to keep saying "no holes case" as a wrist watch RUclips channel.
Something tells me how I refer to Rolex cases is the least of your problems, random dude on the internet.
