I have never had a license I'm 30 years old now. I have skated since I was 8years old. I ride vert mostly like you and did some street. . . I longboard everyday man and am trying transition pushing because of man as it feels really awkward but I wanna push though. "Yo".

Tomorrow is the big day for me. I'm gonna be having ACL reconstruction for the first time in my skateboarding journey at 27 years old and your videos have been an inspiration and motivator for me and just all around put my mind at ease with everything that's going on. I just wanna say thank you and what you're doing is rad!

Chad, very inspired by you. 2 years sober here. Watched every video of yours. Been skating for 22 years. I’m a cyclist with over 15,000 miles biked on roads in the US. You’ve got to start riding on the right side of the road. Stop riding against traffic.
Drivers have no choice except to hit you or hit an oncoming car if there’s a problem in the road. Their reaction time is also greatly diminished when you’re coming at them. Whereas if they’re coming up behind you they can always brake or swerve to avoid you.
And the speed differential, man. If you’re going 15mph and a car is coming at you going 45, that’s like hitting a brick wall with your body at 60mph. Whereas if you’re going 15 and they hit you from behind at 45 it’s like getting hit at 30mph which is still dangerous but has greater than a 50% survival rate.
You should hang an orange or safety green construction triangle from your backpack. You wear all black and the road is all black. People will not see you at all when they’re fucking around on phones and half paying attention to the road. Don’t let pride get in the way. You’ve almost made it. Finish this shit strong like a champ. The skate world will be devastated if you got hit.

I am also a physical therapist, so it is great to hear that the trip is not only an adventure of a lifetime, but also quite therapeutic. The body is an amazing specimen to say the least. I have a torn medial meniscus right now, back leg. Skating has been tough and I took a couple of months off but after some healing, getting back on the ramp feels like it helps more than it hurts.
That was a sketchy story about the truck in your lane. Illustrates the importance of skating against traffic so you can see things coming at you. Stay safe, keep pushing.

Hard not to skate a spot with your friends. As long as you can get back up and PUSH it is 💯 the right thing to do.
I still drink everyday and smoke my weed but you inspire me brother. I really appreciate you and everyone that supports the movement. Sobriety is always on my mind and I've beaten many demons as of.

A decade ago my buddy Darrian Balongie longboarded across America and raised money for St Jude (with a bass guitar on his back too, lol) but unfortunately his battle with addiction ended the other way shortly afterwards. If you guys are struggling with addiction, don't try to handle it yourself, go get professional help please.
