This has become a love Song for my Mom who has passed. I listened to it, all day and all night as needed when she passed. I still listen to it at this time of year to allow myself the space to grieve for her. Miigwech/Thank you
I love Eddie. Dudes vocals shaped my young mind. I don’t think kids today realize the impact this guy had on the 90’s and all of us wanna be earthy kids that leaned on his words for comfort. I still feel his words and not many do that for me.
This is my favorite song ever... Not the original Dylan which was great... but THIS! I cry every time... over the mastery of the music and for lost loves. Going through a rough break-up right now, and this is "her" song now. Thanks Ed.
This song means so much to me as i lost my daughter when she was only 5 and i just think of her for some reason when i hear it, Eddie thank you for this version means even more now.
As i read your comment the lyrics "please see for me if she remembers me at all'' and i lost it......sorry for your loss. wish i could give a million likes to your comment.
So very, very sorry for your loss. I truly hope you see your daughter again someday. I think you will. Until that day comes, may Eddie sing her back to you in memory. ☮️
How is it possible to have one of my favorite songs sound way better in this cover- let alone LIVE--- not only is Eddie (and Pearl Jam) kick ass- they are by far amongst the greats of rock and roll and a definite standout with their raw talent.
It's so beautiful after all these years that we can combine Mr Bob Dylan and Mr Eddie vedder together it's quite astonishing 2021 who cares they did it! Cheers namaste!
I can't believe you only have "3" likes. Seriously overlooked and underrated. Heard Cash & Dylan sing this together. Eddie is in great company . Thanks for your comment. ☮️
This song❤️ always comes up in recommendations. Always makes me cry, I’m also a northern cree girl, reminds me of my days in my home town when the fair would come in the fall
Girl from the north country (Lyric) If you're travelling to the north country fair Where the winds hit heavy on the borderline Remember me to the one who lives there For she once was a true love of mine Please see for me if her hair ain't so long And flows in curls down her back and breast Please see for me if her hair ain't so long For that's the way i remember her best Oh see for me if her coat's pulled up close And her braid frames her sweet pretty face Oh see for me if her coat's pulled up close For I'm exiled in a lonely place Please see for me if she remembers me at all Oh a million times i've hoped and I've prayed In the darkness of my nights In the brightness of my days So if you're travelling to the north country fair Where the winds hit heavy on the borderline Remember me to the one who lives there For she once was a true love of mine
@@andrealanzillotta4388 nop, with Johnny, Bob is destroying this song, his voice doesn't suit the depth and beauty of it, no matter he wrote it...as a composer he should know better what a legendary masterpiece he wrote, and who should have sung it...
@@SophiaLotsari I recommend you to listen to the version that dylan and Johnny Cash sang together on "Nashville skyline". It's amazing and dylan has an incredible voice.
No lost loves, no goosebumps, no family members died, not the best song on the world, or the best singer in the world, no funeral song. I just like the song.

Better than Dylan's own version, or the duet with Johny Cash. Do people know this song was inspired by Martin Carthy's version of a 900 year old English song, Scarborough Fair, which Carthy taught to Dylan and Paul Simon (at different times). Dylan made a magnificent new song out of it. Paul Simon.....didn't.
It was impressive live. Slight bummer this turned into a video, but at least it made the disc. Night 1 was taped, which had better songs than night 2 but was a more choppy show due to the crowd. Hoping for its release one day, featuring Masters of War

This is one of the songs that it really doesn’t matter who sings/plays it it is always magical.
yes. it just MUST be played---Eddie Vedder is great!!!!!!!!
I'm going to christen this "The Yoko Challenge."
What a voice. He sings with true feelings. Makes me want to cry

One of my favorite Dylan songs performed by my favorite singer... What else can I ask for!! 🙏🏻

Eddie Vedder is the best performer hands down I'm so glad I got a chance to see pearl jam live they are the best by far...
just ....WONDERFUL.. (i have no words to explain how Perfect this cover is , Ed has all the words !!! )
This song... it's beauty, the way he sings, always makes me cry. Touches me. So, so beautiful.
I Love This Version of this Classic Bob Dylan Song More than the Original. Thank you Eddie for that pice of music.

I loved it when Eddie did that big stretch...So adorable!
Eddie makes this his own. As far as I am concerned, he could read/sing what used to be the phone book and I'd listen.

Girl from the north country (Lyric)
If you're travelling to the north country fair
Where the winds hit heavy on the borderline
Remember me to the one who lives there
For she once was a true love of mine
Please see for me if her hair ain't so long
And flows in curls down her back and breast
Please see for me if her hair ain't so long
For that's the way i remember her best
Oh see for me if her coat's pulled up close
And her braid frames her sweet pretty face
Oh see for me if her coat's pulled up close
For I'm exiled in a lonely place
Please see for me if she remembers me at all
Oh a million times i've hoped and I've prayed
In the darkness of my nights
In the brightness of my days
So if you're travelling to the north country fair
Where the winds hit heavy on the borderline
Remember me to the one who lives there
For she once was a true love of mine
For she once was a true love of mine
One of my favourite Dylan songs :)
One of the greatest rock leads ever! Keep up the good work Ed
So beautiful ❤️ Made me cry
One of the best versions of this classic song.
Also, I've decided I like Pearl Jam's covers of Mother and Baba O Reilly better than the originals -- how the hell does that even happen???? #talent
never a huge pearl jam fan but he sings this beautifully
The soul in it
For me its one of the most beautiful songs. Hè covers it magic
