Also - Dallas has a spot called The Army Store - off Garland road - they've got a selection of Emerson that'd make anyone happy. Big Emerson selection. This store doesn't have a site. They WILL ship stuff tho. If you know what they've got!

Sounds like you had a good vacation. That feeling of kinda being overwhelmed in the moment x 100 is what Blade Show is like. Been a long time since I been to SMKW. Sucks that you lost that UTX.
ABSOLUTELY!! I had a mental list of soo many things I wanted to see and do and when I got there it all went to Sht!! Like Tyson says Everyone has a plan until you get punched in the face! its easy to become overwhelmed.. Thank you for Sharing Steve!
When i went it was the same way. Service sucks and was hot and busy like you said i had to walk out. My buddy went and said no crowd and spent a cpl hours in there.
Such a brother-in-law, non-knife-guy thing to do at a knife store 🤣he learned the fun way! I'm surprised they open at 10. Knife guys are lazy, haha. The Livewire is Kershaw's first OTF. And executed quite well by all accounts. The tanto version is the coolest looking one. They had a 'zombie' version at Blade that was really rad looking, too. The Bugout is a good, basic, knife that will cut your everyday average stuff just fine (cardboard, amazon boxes, etc). Grivory scales suck feel-wise, but they definitely nail the featherweight appeal. It's actually really durable, albeit very unappealing. None of my BM's have stock scales unless it's G10 or Ti already. Bailout is a good choice. I dig the tanto blade and the aluminum scales feel nice. Adamas is good for a chunkier knife, but you might dig the full-size Griptilian with the sheepsfoot blade. It's a great feeling knife in the hand and the thumb hole on that blade works well. It's a workhorse of a knife. Really sucks you lost your Microtech. Those X-Wing versions are really awesome, too. Somebody somewhere has an awesome $400 knife now 🥲
Just to let you know, Benchmade just announced that next week that they will be releasing a full production version of the Osborne 940 that has a burnt copper anodized aluminum handle with a blackwashed magnacut blade and blackwashed hardware/pocket clip👍
@@ScotchNThings It would have made more sense to make that magnacut 940 with orange G10 handleds so it would be a more overall rust resistant knife. But I do like that unique burn copper anodized color significantly more than the bright orange G10 scales that Benchmade offers in the online custom build a knife online section of their website👍
I love it when we vacation in the Smokey’s. Such a cool area. I spent half a day in SMKW and would have stayed longer if it wasn’t for the family. If you think that was overwhelming you should check out blade show ATL. It’s completely insane! I’ve been the last 4 years in a row and it still overwhelms me. Still a lot of fun though. The Hinderer booth is right around the corner from microtech if I remember right. I bought my first xm from there a few years ago.
Maybe I'm misremembering, but I feel like I saw a very similar video of yours years ago where you also were talking about how you lost a pocket knife while on vacation🤔 Am I crazy, or are you habitually loosing knives while on vacation?
Haha no sadly it was about this time last year. I worked that day and then we moved that weekend. I had a spot in the garage I’d dump my pockets when I got home from work. My wife packed Medford fighter flipper a fat daddy and Strider SMF along with my truck keys telehandler keys grimsmo saga Oakley sunglasses and then put my work hat on top. One of the kids thought it was trash and threw it in the dumpster
I personally hate Smokey Mountain Knife Works because they allowed Anthony Marfione, the owner of Microtech to bully them into not carrying/selling any Axial Gear otf knives🤨
@ScotchNThings I have a few Axial Gear OTF knives, and their quality/fit&finish is way better than any Microtech👍 Microtech claims their new Ultratechs have zero blade play, but a friend of mine recently got one and it has noticeable play👀😬
