Unleashed needs a remaster the most. Better frame rate and resolution are obvious but Unleashed was the first boost game so despite it being very good, there are many flaws as Sega didn't know what they were doing. Just some basic quality life would go a long way.
I would be really happy if they remade the cutscenens without motion capture so it looks more expressive. May be a bit expensive but I think it would make animation fans really happy.
Shadow's design documents from SA2 production literally state "Vegeta". He was always meant to be a bit like him. And he was, even back then. Uppity, prideful, and having rivalry with someone who realistically should be beneath him, but isn't. The idea that he's just Vegeta NOW in NPC/sheepspeak.
Everything you said in the video I agree with accept for the 4 modes you said I think there should be 3,just take out master/unleashed mode. Also one thing I wanted to add on is I want 3 new boost stages and 3 were hog stages when you complete the game and there should be an original music and modern music like remix. One more thing to add on,when you finish the game you can’t get a dark Gia boost color and a light Gia boost color.
Really cool vid man I pretty much agree although I have at least one more thing to add they should make Super Sonic playable in normal boost levels like maybe after you beat the game something anyways that would be AWESOME and I think a lot of people would like it especially me lol anyways Awesome video as usual keep up the good work my man :).
I hope they would replace the Hot Dog missions with the Wii stages, Windmill Isle Day Act 1 would be the Wii Version, the Perfect Dark Gaia phase would be the Wii version in HD. And the Medals would be rewarded via Ranking because everyone complains even though I don’t mind the medal collecting.
You should do a video talking about what sonic games could get sequels like. A Sonic colors 2, Sonic generations 2, Sonic Battle 2, or another story book game.
I don't know, those games you mentioned don't have any material for a sequel to work (in other words, they are auto conclusives), although, a new game from the story book series, but with a different theme, would be nice
My opinion about ideas in video: *YESSS!* Except for maybe instead if getting the chip bracelet at the end of the game, you could get it for lots of points via multiplayer. That way if people really want the bracelet they can go online and make the games life span last at least a bit longer.
I agree with everything on this video. However, there is 2 things that is not in the video that i want to be changed, and it is buffs to The Werehog and Sonic. First let's go with Sonic, The homming attack should be on the "A" button, the drift should be better and maybe increase the movement speed of Sonic or the Quick Dash. Now the Werehog, he should be able to still grab if you attack in the air. (Yea, i know this would make the game very easy with the flying combos but i'll make so that you can't grab using them.) He should also be faster with everything, with movement speed of his two running modes, in his grab, attacking, and double his speed in his wolf running while in Unleashed mode. And yea, that is all. Thanks for ya that saw everthing that i said!
Great video as always I wish Sega would see this and listen to I should be specific unleashed fans on this one. And don't know if that hot topic part about Shadow is a reference to that funny Sonic adventure2 fan dub lol that videos never gets old.
The werehog coop arena would be cool with different playable characters with there own moveset. Normal sonic who specializes in speed and tricks. Knuckles who specializes in strength. Shadow who is more balanced but has the chaos powers. And the werehog stays the same, having him specializing in reach and give him the unleashed state. As for anyone else, building a meter gives them a special attack. Also let’s add blaze who is balanced like shadow but has a useful parry/counter with the best mobility. I know I would enjoy it if executed well.
The thing about multiplayer is there needs to be some kind of player interaction other than just "I'm going faster than U", there needs to be someway to hinder your opponent whether that be shoving them off the stage with a well placed homing attack or stalling them by comboing them along with Darkgia's minions.
I'd love to have a Sonic Unleashed Remaster of the HD Version. Make the Sun and Moon medal collecting to unlock Super Hedgewolf (Full Rage Boost). Have an option to turn off the Hedgewolf Battle Music during gameplay, I'd love to listen to the night stage music when I'm playing.
We need an SD mode. What it does is you can play the ps2/wii version with better fps, resolution and graphics. It would be fun to have both HD and SD versions in 1 game.
I think it would be nice to have 2 modes to play Sonic Unleashed remastered (Similar to Crash 4) where you can choose to play the 'modern' version of the game (with small changes like removing the need to collect sun and moon medals to progress) or you can play the 'original' version of the game. The 4 modes that you mentioned all sound cool I just think it'd be a bit too confusing for most new players. Maybe you could unlock them after beating the main story of the game?
Well, other modes or not, I doubt sega would remove the need to collect sun and moon medals, I still think you should but it should be like the wii version where you get sun and moon medals after beating a level
@@raptorzeraora2632 Actually that would be a fantastic idea for the day stages alone! Imagine that you get moon medals based on your rank in the day stages, but leave the night levels as they are (since I think the medals are handled pretty well in night stages). But even if they don’t remove the need to collect medals I think they should at least reduce the amount needed for progression if they make a ‘modern’ version of the game
@@Callum-sp8wj as for the controls, I was thinking the player could map the buttons to however they want, they could map the controls to be more like generations or something else entirely, that way everyone's happy
fixes: -divide the game into 3 playing options -sonic the hedgehog where you only play as day time sonic and the tornado stages -sonic the werehog where you only play as night time sonic -and sonic unleashed where you play the original game but without medal collecting shit -make the medals unlock the dlc stages -when you upgrade the werehog make it so you only have 3 options not 6 -redo the final boss -make the day time unwiished stages unlockable for getting medals -the dark gaia temples should be handled like the wii version -update the controls but DONT nerf sonic's speed -add new combos and new enemy types for the werehog -after you finish game make knuckles playable instead of the werehog optional: new story content after beat the game
I had a wild idea that they should release remakes of Unleashed and Heroes as a trilogy, with Unleashed sequel in the middle where you swap between Sonic and Knuckles. Except due to shenaningans they would be Blue Knuckles and Red Sonic, and tell a remixed version of the Blue and Red Oni fable as they struggle being an aggressive Sonic and a mellow Knuckles. I understand the stupid reasons why SEGA won't reference things like Chip's bracelet, but they could have at least some continuity between games released as a trilogy, and add that kind of story weight by showcasing the plot with some careful detail. Also they could do this sneaky thing, just focus on getting a straight remaster of Unleashed out first, but keep releasing additional content that works across all 3 games, so by the end of it they've increased the value of the first game by quite a lot to match the pretty hefty price it would probably cost in any case.
I think this is way too much to expect but ofc these are ideas, all I'm really asking for is a 60fps port. A new game plus mode would be a simple but effective addition for any reruns of the game.
Good ideas, but I doubt Sega will actually accept them. Because every PC port Sega has made is just a launcher (with a few options) that launches the game.
MY Pitch for a Sonic Unleashed Ultimate: 1: There should be a menu where the player can choose between two playstyles for the Day stages: Breakneck and Burst. Breakneck is just the normal Unleashed controls but with the Generations Drift(which you can change the animation from the Default of Unleashed's to the Generations Spin). Burst has the segmented boost of the UnWiished version. 2: The Medal system should be changed to how it works in UnWiished, with getting a better rank giving you more medals (S Rank being the highest with 5 medals and E rank not giving you any). Moon Medals for Day Stages, Sun Medals for Night stages. 3: After beating the game and getting Chip's bracelet, you should be able to get Super Sonic in all stages. This means even giving the Werehog a Super Form (change from navy/white - White/Gold). For Daytime Sonic this should give an infinite regular boost as well as a Superboost like in Generations on a different button, increased jump height and Invincibility. For the Super Werehog not only should it get the stat boosts the werehog normally gets from powerups and Unleashed mode, but also two additional jumps, increased dash speed (with a dash that harms enemies), increased height on each jump, super armour on all attacks and even additional speed moving around in the air. It should even be available in the Hotdog Missions. You've beaten the hardest Sonic Game, damn right you should get an OP reward. 4: There should be a required two day stages beaten for both day and night for each area of the game, the UnWiished version of the stage and then the main HD stage. The only exception I'd make to this is with Apotos, where you can just change the graphics so UnWiished Windmill Isle Act 1 is the first stage of Savannah Citadel and Act 2 is changed to be Skyscraper Scamper's first stage. The reason those two UnWiished Day stages would be moved to different areas of the game is so that those areas can have more than one main Day Stage as Apotos already has 2 in the HD version. Then add in the UnWiished extra stages which were hidden in the side missions. As for the Night stages, combine all the UnWiished acts for a particular area into one big level so there's only two night stages each. The only one that might be a hassle is Rooftop Run Night. 5: The Entrance Stages and Gaia Gates should both be in the game, with the Gaia Gates acting as a good fast-travel point and giving mini puzzles for goodies while the Entrance Stages just have the simpler stage entrances. 6: The easy switch from day-night in the hub worlds from UnWiished should be in this game too, as Modern consoles should be handle that switch even with the HD version's Hub Worlds. 7: Remove the more unnecessary mechanics from the HD version's Werehog fights (having to hit the green orbs, resurrections, THE BLOCK PUSHING). This would go a long way to improve these fights by making them pure slobberknockers. 8: Have an option to skip the Tornado stages. 9: To replace the medals from HD and capsules from UnWiished, make the main collectible in the levels Red Star Rings.
Matt knows his stuff about Unleashed on the xbox, nice! if it gets ported sega should use the PS3 version as a base, no bloom issues, higher resolution, no blur, better motion blur, no brown hue & lastly unlimited fps cap, on pc i can get Unleashed at 4k 120fps, its inconsistent but as a base for optimisation its great, such good visuals and when its at high fps, oh god its smooth. (p.s. why do people think the xbox version is the best version, its the ps3 version running more consistently, 'not better' but onsistent, plus it looks awful compared to ps3)
This is my favourite sonic game of all time and i would love to see it come to the Nintendo switch and the switch lite 😄😘 sense i don't have a ps5 or a Xbox series x 😭
Fun fact is that to me, I always felt that werehog stages were too short, I really enjoyed and loved this, like doing the combos, exploring and all, it was just enjoyable
Master mode is a cool idea, I think I would still like to be able to upgrade otherwise things like werehog fights would be way too tedious with minimum strength, but I like the no checkpoints idea. Also I think they should add a QTE practice level or mode, where you could just practice doing the QTEs on ramps so that you can get more points for doing them faster in the stages
I actually kinda hope they don’t port or remaster it because I just ordered the game for PS3. Back then, I only had the Wii version which wasn’t as good as the Xbox 360 or PS3 version so I really wanted to play it on the PS3 to feel the real Sonic Unleashed experience. If they port it or remaster it now then whelp, looks like I gotta get it again.
Perhaps, one thing I'd add to Vanilla mode is having day time Sonic's gameplay play a lot like Modern Sonic from Sonic Generations as a way to make Vanilla mode easy for new comers as in my opinion, Modern Sonic's gameplay in Sonic Generations is much better than his gameplay in Sonic Unleashed. But if people still want day time Sonic to play like how he did in the original Sonic Unleashed, that's what Original mode is for and perhaps Custom mode as well as a customizable option. And perhaps in Custom mode, you also get the option to take out the Tornado levels completely as, yeah, I don't really like those levels. Original mode would still keep the Tornado levels exactly as how they were in the original version, but maybe for Vanilla mode, it could either take the Tornado levels out completely or here's a better solution, which is completely redesign the gameplay to make it much more fun, like perhaps make it more like the Tornado segments from Sonic Adventure and perhaps include that as an option in Custom mode and maybe remove the lines from Eggman from the first Tornado level as a way to keep in the consistency with the story a bit. Also, that bit you mentioned about Sonic keeping Chip's bracelet at the end, to me, that wouldn't be just a cosmetic look like Sora's crown in Kingdom Hearts II, it would also be the explanation as to how Sonic is able to turn back into the Werehog, even after you've completed the game and you go back to replay the levels and revisit the hub worlds because in the loading screen when you switch to night in the hub worlds by the pause menu, Sonic grabs his left whist where Chip's bracelet would be at during the transformation sequence as if the Dark Gaia energy is coming out of it and he's activating it. So, him still having Chip's bracket and having it be present in the loading screen animation, perhaps making the orb glow during the sequence would make that detail a lot more sense where it turns out he's actually activating the power of Chip's bracket to transform back into the Werehog. That's how I would use it to explain Sonic still being able to transform back to the Werehog after you complete the game.
The thing people don't realise with the werehog stages is that yes, the stages can be long and boring, but they feel so rewarding and you feel so great when you finish them
you forgot the controls make the player be able to change the controls or maybe just give them the ability to go to the generations controls (you know make dubble jumping the homing attack)
I feel like with like the points from multiplayer mode you can buy characters like tails and shadow and heck an so unrealistic thing but maybe give them wear-hog mode oh yea knuckles could be a character and maybe idk I just think you should be able to buy characters ok
There's one idea I have for multiplayer so when it's modern Sonic levels you can play as Metal Sonic, Amy, Shadow, Blaze, Tails and Espio for the werehog you could play as Knuckles, Vector, Omega, Rouge, Silver and Eggman in a mech oh and also have it were you can unlock Classic, Boom and Movie versions of those characters as skins
@Dank Harvey I was talking about how the homing attack has the same button input as the air boost. That makes it really hard on the platforming sections. Apart from that I think the controls are fine, but that little thing makes the game much harder.
im pretty sure the only reason they're porting colors and not unleashed is because sonic colors was only available on 3ds and wii while unleashed is already available on xbox 360 and one and series x through backwards compatibility of one and x they dont care about fps, they care about sales
A few things i want to say as a person who's played and loves sonic unleashed. 1. I love the idea of custom modes, vanilla, regular, and unleashed mode are all unique. Custom mode is where I draw the line a bit, it feels like they are giving in too much/ holding your hand too much at this point, and given that we've received so many casual sonic games as of late... it would feel pretty pointless, Don't get me wrong I would love this, but then what's the point? 2. The medals are annoying (even for a player like me). i feel as if they were handled much better in the Wii version, however, medal collecting is pretty fun sometimes so I don't want them fully removed, so they should have it that it unlocks bonus stages in the Wii version than the main stages, (either that or drop the amount needed significantly, its a real pace breaker) 3. imma keep it simple, Better camera controls for werehog and a drop shadow, that Eggman land section was a pain 4.multiplayer does sound sick, I wouldn't change anything about that I feel like I could go on but that's just my two cents, your pitch was good and at the end we all want that sonic remaster/port
Honestly, I feel like cosmetics are probably a bad idea, considering how colors ultimate turned out. The exception would have to be the chip bracelet idea though. That makes perfect sense.
I’d love to see a huge multiplayer expansion type thing like in Adventure 2 Battle.
It would be cool but yeah, it would be difficult to do (also hi I'm a big fan)

@@Xelical actually it was sonic heroes in the speical stages.. if that counts
@@raptorzeraora2632 it does.
Sonic unleashed is my favourite sonic game. It would be really cool if it was remastered.
I would be really happy if they remade the cutscenens without motion capture so it looks more expressive. May be a bit expensive but I think it would make animation fans really happy.
I do hope all of sonic unleasheds DLC's come to this remaster if it happens
I honestly think these ideas are nice. I like the idea about multiplayer and cosmetics the most.
I love these ideas Man good job
Shadow's design documents from SA2 production literally state "Vegeta". He was always meant to be a bit like him. And he was, even back then. Uppity, prideful, and having rivalry with someone who realistically should be beneath him, but isn't. The idea that he's just Vegeta NOW in NPC/sheepspeak.
great ideas matt even if this remaster for sonic unleashed dosent come out i ll still love the game
I like this but for the wherehog i would add a bit more speed and air control
My opinion about ideas in video: *YESSS!*
Except for maybe instead if getting the chip bracelet at the end of the game, you could get it for lots of points via multiplayer. That way if people really want the bracelet they can go online and make the games life span last at least a bit longer.
I'm all for this. Especially the different modes. I really love Sonic unleashed so I would love to see this game get ported. Along with Generations.
Honestly, Sonic Unleashed is the best sonic game I have ever played.
I’d love to see that online PVP with the werehog and then it would be nice if you can make an OC just for the werehog PVP
Great video as always I wish Sega would see this and listen to I should be specific unleashed fans on this one. And don't know if that hot topic part about Shadow is a reference to that funny Sonic adventure2 fan dub lol that videos never gets old.
Me: Sees Master/Unleashed mode
Also me: Hardest difficulty? Gimme.
7:27 : *sweats in Werehog simp
Why is sonic 3 not in mobile
Yo bro this gives me a few ideas. I might make my own video pitching for a sonic unleashed remaster. 👀
I’d also add a sound test to the game like in SA2
I'd love that master mode
I agree with everything in this video Matt. Sonic Unleashed deserves this..
Well add all the unwiished stages obviously
6:21 Plus, you'll get to see Hyper Sonic in 3D for the first time. (OFFICIALLY, not by mods.)
It would be fun to have both HD and SD versions in 1 game.
i think is going to be great if they put the ps2/wii stage like act 2 of modern sonic
I dont they'll do that, however I do think they should add wii stages as extra stages
@@raptorzeraora2632 the wii version is the original version, so they shouldn't be extra
@@cakelayer it isnt the main version. The HD one is the main version.
@@cakelayer the wii version isnt the original version, the original version is the xbox360/ps3 version
You what's going up guys i back with a new video = me happy
There should be a super hard mode called “Werehog Must Die”, similar to DMC’s “Dante Must Die” mode.
My idea is that you can also use modern Sonic‘s Wii gameplay and the Wii stages
fixes:
-divide the game into 3 playing options
-sonic the hedgehog where you only play as day time sonic and the tornado stages
-sonic the werehog where you only play as night time sonic
-and sonic unleashed where you play the original game but without medal collecting shit
-make the medals unlock the dlc stages
-when you upgrade the werehog make it so you only have 3 options not 6
-redo the final boss
-make the day time unwiished stages unlockable for getting medals
-the dark gaia temples should be handled like the wii version
-update the controls but DONT nerf sonic's speed
-add new combos and new enemy types for the werehog
-after you finish game make knuckles playable instead of the werehog
optional: new story content after beat the game
MY Pitch for a Sonic Unleashed Ultimate:
1: There should be a menu where the player can choose between two playstyles for the Day stages: Breakneck and Burst.
I do play Sonic Unleashed at 60 fps on Series X tho
Sonic: Gotta go fast!
Werehog: Gotta kick a**!
No
Vanilla mode seems like the perfect solution to every problem I have with Unleashed
This is my favourite sonic game of all time and i would love to see it come to the Nintendo switch and the switch lite 😄😘 sense i don't have a ps5 or a Xbox series x 😭
I would absolutely love it if this became a reality. It would fix almost everything that I hated about sonic unleashed
YESSS!!! Someone else wants this to happen!!!
Fun fact is that to me, I always felt that werehog stages were too short, I really enjoyed and loved this, like doing the combos, exploring and all, it was just enjoyable
*doesn't want to be seen as dragonballZ*
*Sonic gets "Tortured" in the death star* Oh so Star wars is okay
I highly,agree
The thing people don't realise with the werehog stages is that yes, the stages can be long and boring, but they feel so rewarding and you feel so great when you finish them
you forgot the controls
make the player be able to change the controls or maybe just give them the ability to go to the generations controls (you know make dubble jumping the homing attack)
i have unleash on the xbox 360 and the frame rate idea and resolution idea is something that sonic needs
I'm suprised that he did not mention the bad controls for the day time stages.
@Dank Harvey I was talking about how the homing attack has the same button input as the air boost. That makes it really hard on the platforming sections. Apart from that I think the controls are fine, but that little thing makes the game much harder.
Sonic Unleashed definitely deserves a remaster. I need to play this game again.
ID LOVE TO SEE A REMASTER OF THIS MASTERPIECE AND ACTUALLY GET TO PLAY IT
Maybe Dlc stages for free with new dlc?
Sega sold the battle and DX versions of SA1 And 2 separately on modern consoles. So, Most likely not.
@@spritvio639 That is true.
That will BE good
im pretty sure the only reason they're porting colors and not unleashed is because sonic colors was only available on 3ds and wii while unleashed is already available on xbox 360 and one and series x through backwards compatibility of one and x
they dont care about fps, they care about sales
Um, sonic colors was never on 3ds, it was on ds
OMG! We need a multiplayer mode in unleashed!!❤️
2. The medals are annoying (even for a player like me). i feel as if they were handled much better in the Wii version, however, medal collecting is pretty fun sometimes so I don't want them fully removed, so they should have it that it unlocks bonus stages in the Wii version than the main stages, (either that or drop the amount needed significantly, its a real pace breaker)
3. imma keep it simple, Better camera controls for werehog and a drop shadow, that Eggman land section was a pain
4.multiplayer does sound sick, I wouldn't change anything about that
I feel like I could go on but that's just my two cents, your pitch was good and at the end we all want that sonic remaster/port
UnWiished in HD on Switch is what I need
No, it wont be the wii version, it should be the og hd version
