ANA First A380 "FLYING HONU" Delivered!

- ANA took delivery of the first A380 in a stunning livery called "Flying Honu".
I was invited to the delivery ceremony. It was such a momentous day to see the most special A380 livery called "Flying Honu" (Turtle) flying in the sky!
Watch the video to enjoy the special delivery ceremony and all the on-board products from First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy class which also feature a unique ANA COUCHii seating.
ANA will reveal the real interior of their A380 in a later date in Tokyo.
The ANA A380 will be operating exclusively on Tokyo Narita to Honolulu route with special menu, amenities on-board as explained and shown in the video.

In this video, we celebrate and examine the delivery of All Nippon Airways’ first ordered A380 and what makes the set of three A380’s ordered by Japan’s largest airline, also known as Zennikkū, extra special.
Each of the three Airbus A380’s ordered by ANA will be painted in a striking, bright and fun livery with eyes and a nose and mouth painted on to the front of the plane, ultimately depicting sea turtles native to Hawaii.
The first delivered plane’s blue livery is dubbed “Flying Honu” and symbolises the sky. The other themes will be the ocean and sunset, focusing on the colours turquoise/green and orange respectively - the green liveried plane is expected to emerge from the factory in Hamburg on 25th March 2019. The liveries are some of the most elaborate ever attempted by Airbus - the first blue plane alone has taken 21 days to paint, making use of 16 unique shades of colour.
Flying Honu is scheduled to fly from Japan to Hawaii in the United States three times a week from late May 2019, departing from Narita international airport in Tokyo and arriving at Honolulu international airport.
During the delivery ceremony of the first A380 to ANA, Yutaka Ito, the executive vice president of ANA, remarked that the introduction of the Airbus A380 in to their arsenal was “something that the entire team at ANA is very excited about.” And with very good reason.
The new aeroplanes will feature four different cabins spread out over a staggering 520 seats between the upper and lower decks, catering for first, business, premium economy and economy classes as well as a fifth unique class introduced by ANA - “COUCHii,” which will feature seats with extendable leg rests that convert in to a bed.
First class passengers will be treated to massive 32 inch televisions and modernised, secluded suites with sliding doors and on-board novelties will include an All Nippon Airways exclusive bright blue Hawaii cocktail and a menu for economy class designed by Australian chef Bill Granger. There are even plans to build a dedicated A380 lounge at Honolulu international airport, providing separate entrances for premium passengers that connect straight to the exclusive upper deck of the aircraft.
With so much space and luxury, and the solid and reliable power of the Rolls Royce Trent 900 engines behind them, these new A380’s are likely to be the new jewels in the crown for Air Nippon Airways.

What a momentous day for ANA and a bittersweet feeling watching her depart Toulouse and "waving" left and right to the send off crowd at Airbus. The A380 is a great plane as passenger love the spaciousness. I will of course cover the interior and flights to Honolulu later on!

I heard that Airbus is refusing to repay Germany 1 billion Euros borrowed to develop the A-380, but I'm not sure what the A-380 was.

@@contractorvegas5384 Not a chance. The 737 is the most desired airplane being produced today. The development of the A-380 was hugely short-sighted. The airline industry has a very slim profit margin and the cost of fuel is the issue all airlines are concerned with. The 737 is here to stay and the A-380 will be a failed memory soon. While the 747 will also endure, as it has for 50 years. Meanwhile the big European nations are fighting Airbus to repay 1 billion Euros in loans made to Airbus to develop the A-380 which Airbus is refusing to pay back now that the A-380 has ceased to sell. Europe foolishly made the A-380's competition with Boeing a matter of European pride from the beginning, which makes the A-380's faceplant that much more embarrassing for Europe.

ANA has great customer service. The best flight I have ever been on. Honolulu to Narita, then Manila. Was a wonderful experience. Love ANA'S flight crews and staff.
Love how ANA Din't cheap out. They realise their prufuct is top notch. And didn't worried about the price tag of the A380👍👍
As a retired airline pilot it makes me very sad that the 380 production is being stopped. I understand the costs.....but I find the 380 an amazing aircraft!

There will be opportunity. It’s my dream as well. The airlines that fly them currently are not retiring them anytime soon. Emirates is flying 108 and expecting 54, so hop on one! Not only is it the cost, isn’t the fact that airports have to retrofit their jet ways to accommodate another factor? The Boeing 787s fit anywhere without the adjustment.

yes it is an end of an era of 4 engine widebody in-production aircraft,... but the A380/A3XX/ANWB (AirbusNewWideBody) however you want to name it was on its first flight 10 years to late for the party... still a magnificent achievement from airbus bringing this aircraft into the skies...

ANA has some of the best service and food. Plus their flight attendants serves with a smile and they are so helpful
34" in pitch in Economy is what is needed on all planes. So great design and good planning from ANA. The livery is also very well done, especially after watching the new United one.
Finally! All Nippon Airways first A380 delivered! Now all 3 contries in Northeast Asia, China, Korea and Japan has A380🤩🤩 Among the whole A380 on earth ANA's A380 is the most beautiful and advanced aircraft👍

Kind of bittersweet, just as other airlines are announcing they will be phasing 380’s out, here ANA is bringing a brand new one into its fleet.

To be fair, they were kind of contractually obliged to. It's great that they don't seem to be doing it in a half-arsed manner.
Reminds me of a flight with an ANA 747 where my colleague and I were the only passengers on the entire aircraft from Copenhagen to Narita in the mid 90s. When arriving in the gate we thought the plane had booked all passengers and when we asked an ANA crew member, we were told there was nobody else going to board this giant 747. Extremely weird. In those days it seems there was some overcapacity. Nowadays I find myself in planes that seem almost always fully booked.

Yes that is true! Lots of people from Japan usually come here and you can see them in Waikiki or ko olina. Planes that come here usually use 777, 767, 787 but this plane makes other planes not needed.

I live in the glide path to Honolulu International Airport and have seen the ANA A380 probably a half dozen times or so coming in to land. It's really quite impressive to see.

I like ANA. I had the pleasure of flying with them a few times on Asian routes. Always friendly, comfortable and clean. Their lounge at Narita is also quite nice. This plane looks quite interesting and comfortable.

That's the most beautiful A380 I've ever seen! It's so stunning.
Those with intelligence know that this airplane is a solution to air space. Unfortunately there are companies with no vision of the future that want to retire the A380. It is an aircraft ahead of its time, but many prefer a point-to-point system as if flying was fun with stops and this is not a long trip everything the passenger wants is to arrive soon. This plane allows that.
