Do any of you have autism? I do, I was officially diagnosed by the best specialist in the country I live in. I was also diagnosed with savant syndrome. I feel the same as the quote from the movie but I think autism is way worse than social anxiety because having autism kind of means you have social anxiety as a package deal with that disorder. Never had to try hard in school to get straight As or in university, or in graduate school. But being social it’s so damn hard. I feel like I have to put on a mask for every social occasion and not be myself. Every time I am behaving like myself people just don’t relate to the things I am interested in. One of the worst issues I have is chronic insomnia due to not being able to shut off my damn brain… I did almost get married after a ten year relationship but it did not happen. These days I am happy hunting and fishing by myself. One day I hope I go out to partake in one of those activities and never come back… in nature I truly feel at peace no faces to figure out what they are thinking, no awkward social situations, and most importantly no people.

She was one of the better characters. The only person I found on the dull side was the owner of the robotics company.

I didn't expect much from this going in, and I was amazed. As the first trailer suggests, the action and special effects are solid and well funded, but the story steals the show (as it should). They just nailed it in every way, imo.

You're close but that's an exaggeration. The movie does a good job of properly bringing awareness to autism, both good and bad.
I don't think that's a wise idea, but it wouldn't hurt to provide such children with weapons training (provided they want to, of course).

The creators confirmed that Ben Affleck's character IS on the Autism Spectrum.
I wonder if the actions scenes will have him weaponize Autistic traits/stereotypes (like keeping track of how many bullets his enemies have fired during a shootout).
For the record; I AM diagnosed with Asperger's myself and I'm a cinematic action junkie so I'm interested in seeing what happens when "Rain Man" is merged with "Jason Bourne".

I think you'll love it. He isn't counting bullets, but you can tell his condition enhances his laser focus in both combat and numbers. Affleck does a good job of playing an autistic person with a specific history. It's an action thriller but it's probably Hollywood's best attempt at bringing awareness to autism.
If you watch the movie close enough,you'll see that he is counting bullets right before he attacks.Affleck was really astonishing on his role play!
Have you seen Archer? The main guy keeps track of bullets shot during gunfights, and starts to think maybe he is autistic.

The thing about Ben Affleck is that he is a really amazing actor. But he just gets casted into really bad films. That's why all the movies he directs are really good because he takes control of the plot and creating of the film. Like, The Town, Gone Girl, Armageddon, Chasing Amy, and Argo were really good movies that he was in, but it was because they had good storylines...and this and Live By Night look badass

Highly recommend.. I watched this movie, first thinking it was some basic action/thriller movie. It was so much more than that, one of my favourite films I have watched.

When I was watching a movie to me it lacked spirit, the pacing was weird and some scenes were off. But the more I watched it, it had great acting an event of story and a great villain. The movie is extremely underrated. But it is a classic.

IF YOU DID NOT SEE IT DO NOT READ. So much twists in one movie. The treasurer guy was there when his dad died. The girl he was in the facility with ended up being the "brit voice". His brother was trying to kill him without knowing him. Best movie this year imo.
