Having grown up watching drag racing in the late 60s and 70s it's amazing to see these cars running times and speeds that top fuel dragsters were running back then.
He’ll even a grocery getter will get down in the 11s. I remember a decent single cab truck running low 15s and high 14s was thought as fast and my Buddy had a dodge Dakota R\T running high 13s and we were in awe! My current 4x4 will go low 14s now. These new motors are crazy.
Bernstein ran 5.63@260 at Gainesville in 1986 to set the MPH record for Funny Car. Big Daddy ran 272 a year later. Door cars doing 5.60 @260+ is insane.
Also the main reason NA cars are in the mid to low 9's is because they are running 30-40% Nitromethane. When boosted cars start adding nitro they will go even faster, even 4-5% makes a big difference.
I swear those Starlets, Corollas and other short wheelbase cars have got to be the closest thing there is to bill riding. They’re bouncing all over, darting left, darting right, wild rides!

World Cup is the biggest drag event there is. Its got the best track and altitude. Thats where everyone goes to break and set records. It brings out all the baddest and quickest cars from around the US

It's insane watching these cars go 5's in the quarter mile. Each year these cars get faster and faster. Hell Speed Factory is going 6's in a damn Honda. 5 years ago that would be unheard of. I can't wait to see how much quicker they push those cars in another 5 years

there was not a single record that weekend that was not impressive none of this is easy even with the technology. Those dogs running 5.5s are running testing and competing year long traveling quite often. They all deserve props. @@retrocompaq5212

Remember when multiple entry special values happen, like they are offering 3X entries here in the video, it dilutes all those who have already purchased for the offered value of one entry. Some RUclipsrs go up to 50x entries, reducing one entry’s value to one 50th of its original value when offered. It’s in the fine print in the entry rules, so it’s legit, but a little bait and switch looking.

Cletus got screwed so bad with the class he is stuck in. He is racing damn near promods with his 3400lb car. His car is fast don’t get me wrong but he’s going up against cars that almost have 1000lbs on him
Cleetus is going to have to bite one of two bullets. Either he needs to put a non-billet motor back in Mullet to not run in OvE, or he needs to Pro Mod Mullet. I know he said he doesn’t want to go backwards with Mullet, but making Mullet eligible for a slower class that he can actually be competitive in is a lot better for him and his fans. I have a strong feeling he will be posting a video Monday or Tuesday addressing what he will do with Mullet. Edit: I honestly forgot he was in MvR not OvE. But my point was that he either needs to make major changes to Mullet to competitive, at the risk of not being able to do drag and drive, or major changes to be able to be able to switch from 3400lbs to 2700lbs. If he can’t make those changes, then he has to change the car to fit a slower class, and push the limits of that class to go faster. He doesn’t WANT to slow down, but going out in Round 1 at every major event because he’s several 10ths behind the #1 qualifier doesn’t make good content.

They wanna be the quickest even if that means getting beat multiple times it just gives them more motivation to make their car lighter and faster. I don't know if it's the same exact paint but I do know it cost him over $600 a pint! What was crazy as his paint heated the more the color would shift! It's been a while but I believe his paint flipped 8 or 9 colors! It was beautiful!

People dont go there to break records for no reason. MIR is probably the best prepped track in America. Well at least when it comes to World Cup and other big events there.

It's an 86, and the RvM class is mainly prostock/LDR and modified pro compact imports. The pro imports got bumped to OvE
So glad you guys are doing daily videos. This event is big enough to justify it. I look forward to this event of all others every year.
