To any Chelsea fan who thinks this is wrong for him to say this,
This is not a Lukaku situation. Man City is his boy hood club. So I get it. I am sure players like RLC would be saying they didn’t want to leave chels as well. But like he said he’s glad he is here and he’s loving it
I don’t understand any Chelsea fan or rival fan that thinks he is mugging off Chelsea. He was born in Manchester and played for City’s academy. His boyhood club had just won the treble and is coached by Pep. It would be a lie if he said he didn’t want to stay at City. The fact that he actually left shows that he really cares more about playing regular football. Inter wanted to keep Lukaku but he wanted to go. Lukaku was already a starter for Inter and Inter were also in UCL so Chelsea weren’t offering anything Inter were not. Cole was guaranteed more playing time a Chelsea so the offer was way more tempting for him
It’s not his boyhood club he literally supports Man Utd
@@BigBeardLittleBeardhalf is family is united the other half is city soo
@@BigBeardLittleBeardand boyhood club means the club he started at and grew up playing for
@@BigBeardLittleBeardthat's false he grew up a man city fan and there are pictures to prove it
What a talented, humble, intelligent young man he is. Gutted he's left, but good luck to him. Hope to see him in the England midfield on a regular basis
He doesn't seem that smart tbh. But a good lad, no doubt
@@chinaallthetime69 harsh. i meant in a way that supports his development as a footballer. besides which one of us is a multi-millionaire. haha
@@chinaallthetime69 depends on what kind of "smart" you're talking about. I agree that he seems to be an intelligent young man. the way he answers quickly (implying he's had no difficulty finding the right words to convey his thoughts), or the composure (this man just exudes calmness), and we all know how composed he is on the pitch. well you could also say "maybe the interview was staged / rehearsed", but I'd like to believe he is that calm, calculating, intelligent man that we think he is. Cold Palmer indeed.
But average guy not smart like garnacho
@@chinaallthetime69 smart enough to make the most of his situation.
I admire the honesty from him tbh
Me as well hes my Idol 😅
I think he showed his loyalty to Chelsea with the penalty and celebration against city ,wether he wanted to leave or not
😂 he just said he didn't want to leave 😂 what happiness you trying to create for yourself?? 😂
He wanted play time mate and he walked into your side as a child
his dream was to not leave city but as soon as he found out HE wouldn't be played HE wanted to leave so yeah he did technically want to leave. city fans are crying because of the good start he has had in a chelsea shirt something he couldnt do in a city shirt @@kaydeecesmith5540
@@StopLookingAtMyAcc he is having a decent run in, in terms of goals and assists so far at the halfway point of the season.
That is an over the top statement.
Absolutely gutted he left us. Great to know he didn’t want to leave. A harsh business decision by the club.
Yhh but also on his part, he just didn't have the patience and wanted more game time, which was always going to be difficult in that City squad under Pep.
No way, City will buy him back, not as long as Pep is in charge.
Plus, he is having a decent run in, at Chelsea in terms of goals and assists for the season.
@@originalunoriginal4055 we dont even need him g
It’s mad how palmer was sitting on the bench at Man City and barely kicked a ball and he went to Chelsea and automatically became their best player
@@abdihassan2426it just shows how good the standard is at City
Him leaving opened the door to Oscar Bobb, who imo is a more creative player
He's a Manchester lad, so i can well believe that he didn't want to leave ... and he was also picking up winners medals as part of a successful City squad.
My stance on him is exactly as it was when he left ..... he wanted and needed more game time, Pep couldn't guarantee it, so he thought it best to move on, and its hard to blame him.
what a lad. best chelsea signing in a long time.
Di Maria is one of the most underrated players. If he has that career, he'll be an England great a generational talent.
I really like his honesty…that really shows his respect for city and Chelsea supporters …and clubs
I love his honesty!!! No need to pretend; he wanted to be at his boyhood club forever and that's beautiful to know even if it hasn't panned out that way.
He's also been incredible for Chelsea. I doubted the essence of his arrival but he's proved me wrong with his consistency.
Definitely a fan. 💙💙💙
He was United fan 😂😂😂😂
@@calumbeatty3217 United? What united Newcastle United ? Another club named United is already dead 10 years ago and under the legs of City.

One of the players who left city that pained my heart, I was mad at city for letting him go. All the best to him, h3 has been doing great💙
Chelsea fans won’t like this😂
Why wouldn't we? He's our best player lol couldn't care less if he didn't mean to leave City, he still did in the end 🤷♀️
why? Am I missing something? He said Chelsea rang him and he was happy to go. ??
Why not? He said he didnt plan on leaving before and then once chelsea bid he wanted to go?? 😂😂😂
Why
Chelsea fans in the comments be like: What? Why? He's a great player why wouldn't we be ok with this?...
Because Lukaku came and did a similar thing where he talked about loving Inter and wanting to be there but funnily enough when the player is performing on the pitch it becomes irrelevant lol
I never wanted to go that far down the table 😂😂
For me i would use Palmer story and mindset as motivation 🧠 because its inspiration to youngsters like for me hes my Idol as a Chelsea fan and i want to play just like him when I get in an academy
City literally told him "You can stay or you can leave" He chose to leave. What is he going on about?
Yeah trust what you've seen on social media, than what the player himself has said 🤦♂🤦♂
He needs his play time
What's your point though

Damn! I love Cole and I always have… I think that we made a big mistake letting him go.
Oscar bobb is the perfect replacement tho.
Yeah but he opened the door for Oscar bobb
cole > oscar
To be fair I don’t think any young player would want to leave a team coached by Pep Guardiola that man can turn a bog standard footballer into an elite player.
Pep's style hinders natural flair for the sake of athletes with great positional discipline.
It's getting boring now...
Kalvin wants to have a word 😂
@@TheAshman89 mancity save kalvin from relegation tho 😂
People saying Lukaku 2.0 if he stayed at city he would never have this outbreak and looks happy at Chelsea
Who was saying Lukaku 2.0 about Palmer? Doesnt make sense, and especially the "if he stayed at City" part. Lukaku only got good when Chelsea admitted they were never going to start him and he started to get minutes when he was loaned to Brom and then Everton , where he eventually got the transfer. Doesn't make sense on any level 😂
@@Jojo.R.ChipelagoDidn’t you hear bro? They’re all saying it
@@hikikomoriiii-y1w na, I didn't. I'm kinda glad I don't listen/watch anyone saying that - it's a shocking take.
Okay before everyone goes overboard, he didn't object joining Chelsea, he could have stayed in the first team, but he knew he wouldn't get the game time and he'd be undervalued, so he chose to go to Chelsea where he's become, not just one of Chelsea's best players, but one of the best in the league and is proving City wrong.
Everything you said is right mate, But he's not proving City wrong, he sill wouldn't get into their first team, simple. They knew he's start in wise team obviously.
But it was win-win-win for Palmer, City and Chelsea... everyone got what they needed - City had too much talent and they managed to move him on before he lost respect for the club, Cole is getting the minutes he deserves, albeit in a struggling side, and Chelsea got a man who can get the ball in the goal. It would have been way worse for City had they tried to keep him whilst giving him the minutes they did - he wasn't playing enough whilst KDB was injured, imagine how much time he would be spending on the bench with the king returning?
correct mate! @@Jojo.R.Chipelago
At the end of the day he's not better than Bernardo/Foden/Doku who play RW but he's better than all of Chelsea bar Thiago Silva
He'll prove City wrong when he wins another league title.....until then City were right
best player to join chelsea in these last few years i swear i love this guy thank you for joining
Who told you bad man don’t dance??
I like that he's still putting in the effort for Chelsea even if he didn't initially want to be there. Unlike 3/4 of the rest of the squad.....
Truth is he didn't trust Pep giving him more time to play this year, and maybe he was right to leave, and also he was wrong to leave. Last year he was injured for a while. But I'm pretty sure this year he'd have had more minutes than Oscar Bobb (by the time he left this season, Pep already played Cole in the Super Cup against Sevilla and the Community Shield against Arsenal ... and he scored in both games, which might have turned his head a bit tbh), or any other academy player... but I guess he just couldn't wait, sit still and follow Foden's approach of being calm and trusting Pep's process (as opposed to Brahim Diaz forcing a move to Real, or Jadon Sancho moving to Borussia Dortmund). Ah well, he's a huge talent, sorry we lost him, but he will have to settle for a10th-ish place with Chelsea this year and no UCL games for a couple of years. 🙃
Backhanded compliment much?
@@fzne96 And so what? He deserves such a compliment.
@@horatiutuca8320you just bitter, he’s one of the best players in the league this season and that wasn’t happening if he stayed. And stop talking like you don’t know about Chelsea
@@rinstagz Is he Messi and we don't know? What was wrong for him to stay (like all the other academy players that did)? He's a great talent, but he talks like he was supposed to stay in jail or something. Again, he moved on, and we'll see if he'll ever regret the move or not...
@@horatiutuca8320 is salah Messi? Is de bruyne messi? No, they both left Chelsea cause they bet on themselves and it worked out just well for both of them. Cole is trying to follow in that path, no one knows what the outcome will be but he’s on a bright start already. And those guys I mentioned went to smaller clubs but he went to Chelsea. Obviously they not as good as city rn but one of the best teams in England overall. You tried to compare him to Foden, Foden sat behind older guys so he was gonna always get his chance at some point cause those guys can’t play forever. Cole on the other hand is behind Foden, doku, Alvarez maybe grealish too (all who got a lot of years left) so yes when an opportunity like that comes around you take it. Might never get the chance again
Businesses is business, all the best Cole!
It seems he was too eager . You can see at pre season Pep was going to integrate him into the starting 11 . It’s a shame cause Doku - Haaland - Palmer trio with Rodri - KDB - Silva in midfield would have cooked
Going ahead of Foden or Grealish is very high praise. I think Foden is a better fit at City than Palmer would have been, but there is no way I can see Foden doing what Palmer is doing at Chelsea
There is not a person on this planet that can predict what Guardiola is going to do next, a few games in pre-season doesn't mean anything
So what is palmer doing at Chelsea that foden can’t do?
@@alexmccourt2310 that's not to say Palmer is better than t Foden, it's just he's surrounded by worse players so he stands out more while Foden is surrounded by world class players. Both are fantastic.
@@alexmccourt2310 I agree, difficult to see Foden losing at Middlesbrough.

What a player
When you hear him say it, he clearly doesn't mean it the way the title implies when quoting it. Poor journalism from Sky, I think Cole should be careful around these people.
That's not just him we all need to be aware they'll put anything you say out of context just to get clicks. It's like the Ivan toney one saying I fell out of love with football. Its not wrong because that's what he said but you have to watch the video to know the context.
He never wanted to leave City but he still chose to after Pep said a spot was open because Mahrez had left? I don't blame him for leaving but if you truly loved City you stay and fight for your place especially when an opportunity was opening up

Guardiola just said today that palmer wanted to leave for two years straight. That he kept asking for a trade….So who is lying here? The coach or the player?
He probably kept saying he wants to play everyday to pep and his agent was probably dropping ultimatums saying "or else!"
Chelsea dropped 40m offer then city said "yeah, loan is no longer an option kid"
He was asking to leave on loan for two seasons
Pep was suppose to loan this boy not selling him
