They said the same thing about Jerry Garcia's voice. Jerry and Jay have 2 of my favorite voices and both have playing styles that are as original as they come.
I mean, fuck yeah. It's just a couple of solo versions by Mascis on acoustic and electric, but if you dig his music enough they're a beautiful thing to have.
these kids are so fucking cool for seeing Dino Jr. at Sonic Boom. I wish I went there, I think the sound was better than the 19+ Phoenix show I went to. Acoustic ftw! Now I'm kinda wishing J did acoustic at the Phoenix that night too argh. such a talented person though. :D
i still don´t forgive that dinosaur gave me the worst gig in my live. I was such a fan at the time. The bastard ended the show with a 10 minute guitar solo...Booooriiiiing. They are ok here.
@@johnybaltimore3687 It was an awful gig, really. We all agreed was awful. The guitar solo was only the ice on the cake. The sound was so awful,. , so noisiy and loud that the fans couldn't identify any of the songs. He used earplugs. I have seen Many noise rock bands and never seen that amount of awful noise. The same week I went to see guided by voices, that was awesome.
Bloody hell, How is possible that j mascis hasn´t learn to sing in 20 years?...Lou can actually sing. Anyway, nice to see this little acoustic piece much better than that horrible-wall of noise of a show that i went many years ago. I couldn´t recognize any song, big headache after. I guess he was ok with his earbuds.
@@josevillarreal9920 I think was between 95-98? The tour álbum was from "going under" or over or something like That . We all 6 people from different groups and ages agreed It was a noise mess. Very loud and painfully enginereed . Yeah little singing here aswell . I can't Tell really how much he sang Because the huge guitar volume.. Years later I went to see Sonic yourh. That was a good wall of noise. (BEST gig in my Life....guided by voices London)
damn from reading the comments i knew that solo was coming, but i was still not ready. wow.
Man, that solo was awesome
gotta love how the whole part of the song after that guitar solo sounds like straight improv!

Thanks for this. Holy Acoustic Solo! How is that even possible?
Here's hopin' you tape Buck 65's show today at the same venue.
This is the best version I've heard. Still can't find the acoustic version from the Goodier session in '92.
Me either.
@@ryunhorn8836 I literally just bought the japanese version of quest so i can get the Goodier session. Should i upload it?

I couldnt get in into the phoenix concert..
One of the my saddest days of 2007..
Did you see J give the drummer the stank eye at the beginning ? Probably for playing too loud, idk.
i think he was to fast

that's exactly the reason dinosaur jr. fans go to see their shows.

To each there own.
J seriously is without a doubt one of my all time favorite vocalists. I love his singing it's a beautiful tragic mess.
go watch the fucking voice if youre looking for nice singing you idiot...jesus christ.
barbara streisand is looking for new fans.
What year was this show? I remember a gig in Chicago where he just played for an hr and didn't sing but everyone loved it.
