Wow! That's a great plan! The restaurant is a masterstroke, the perfect addition to your B n B! That little chapel is a gem, do you know if it's still consecrated? It'd be a wonderful boutique wedding venue, especially with you having a restaurant!
Hello Karen, happy weekend 👋 we hardly know anything about our chapel at all, we have had some wedding enquiries but we don’t feel we are there yet - perhaps after next year ❤️
What a wonderful idea, people will literally be able to see where their food was grown. Forget food miles it will be food yards
Hello Shirley that’s the plan. Not only that, if they like what they eat, they will also be able to buy the same produce in the farm shop too! 👍
Good plan! I look forward to following that! Always good to follow your existing strengths - i.e. your catering experience.
Thank you Tanya, oh we have done so many things 😂 it’s strange to be going back to the beginning 🤔
Restaurant is a great idea!
Oh the pub is even a better idea 😁
You know, we love France, and we miss hardly anything from the UK, but… we really miss the pubs - not sure what that says about us 🤔😂
So exciting! This will become my favorite chateau channel! I love this idea. Getting to see you run the business!
That is huge undertaking. Can't wait to see how you progress. I know the restaurant will be fabulous with the food coming straight from the garden. Thank you so much for sharing.
Hello Claudia, yes one huge job after another these next few months will bring ❤️
I am so excited for the next renovations! 🇨🇦💕
Thanks Jill, it’s a little nerve-wracking too
Church is just beautiful!!!! You are doing an amazing job with the chateau! The biggest thing is you have plans, lots of plans. Good to have. Lots of love from Tennessee!!
Hello April, thank you, yes one thing we are NEVER short of, is plans 😂Have a great week 👍
Just love the amazing chapel area. Can’t wait to see your future vlogs. 😊
Help Barbara, yes the chapel is quite an undertaking, even though very small in size
Wow Leanne what great plans , it really exciting news x cannot wait for the rest of the plans x

Awww thank you so much - we would be lucky to have you here. It’s going to be a huge challenge to get to the spring with everything in place, but we are excited x
A big undertaking but I am sure it will work you obviously have done your research for this type of business I wish you the best of luck I will be following you all the way...love that painting behind you Leanne ❤
Hello Pauline, thank you. The painting was by an Etsy artist we found who lives in Ukraine about five years ago.
Love your idea and looking forward to seeing it come to fruition…from PA, USA.
Hi Paula, let’s hope we can pull it off x
This chateau just keeps giving and giving....such a brilliant plan and I am sure everything will look amazing. Very excited to see what you two do with this space and look forward to the restoration!
Thank you Jane, yes it’s been an idea years in the making I think 🤔
Loved this, as I do all of your vlogs. Some of this footage will be great for a future before and after. The chappel is beautiful.
Hello Susan, let’s hope we have some good ‘after’ images to make the ‘before’ images look even better 👍
Fantastic!🎉
Thank you 🙏
How wonderful! Best wishes for the new venture.
Thank you Barbara 💜
Wow! The plans are perfect! What a great addition to your cooking skills, vegetable gardens and b & b. The chapel ceiling is beautiful. How many rooms are there in your chateau, because it keeps on giving. Love your style and plans!! Many hugs.
Hello Stephanie, we really are very small when it comes to chateaux. We only have five main rooms downstairs and then the chapel and a couple of small areas such as the pantry and utility. And then six bedrooms and four bathrooms on the second floor. There is a whole third floor that we haven’t even touched yet, but I’m not sure we will convert all of it - just a couple of rooms are planned for the moment x
@@renovatingthechateau that’s a manageable size after you get the rooms restored. It’s still very large with the beautiful bones of a chateau!! Hopefully in a future visit to France I will visit you. Stay well and always be safe. xx
Love your farm to table plans. There’s a lot of work to be done and I’m looking forward to seeing your dreams come true 😍😘
Hello Rosemarie, it’s probably a crazy dream, but we will try to make it work all the same ☺️
@@renovatingthechateau I have no doubt that it will work out just fine 😍😍😍😍😍
Leanne a brilliant Idea. The Chapel ceiling is magnificent I have no doubt you will do well with all the fresh produce in your cottage garden you are taking on a lot Leanne running a restaurant is very hard work good luck a d I can't wait to see the fruits of your labour 😊
Hello Myrna, yes restaurants are really hard to do well. But we will only be open three days a week and then there will be a break every 3-4 months of around 4-6 weeks, we will close in August and January and February so hopefully that will all keep us from getting burnt out x
Very wise Leanne I know it will be a great success.
Hello Leanne
These are wonderful news!!!
A lot of people will be thrilled in your village!
Hello Mailen, well we will see, it’s hard to know how people will respond to things - but at least we are completely secluded so we won’t be bothering any neighbours as they’re 1.5km away 😂 The mairie did pop round last week and he seemed to be pleased with the idea.
@@renovatingthechateau I am sure the maire does like the idea.
It is good for tourism and good for local life.
😊👍
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Alaine
Wow can’t wait to see it 👍
Thank you Julia - we are excited too! ❤️
Hope those entrance hall light fixtures are on the list to go.
A chapel would be nice if you host weddings
And why an English pub? You’re in France after all.
We will be a restaurant with English pub evenings on a Saturday. You have to have a USP and play to your strengths. I don’t profess to be a French cook, and despite which there are many fantastic French restaurants already around. The English pub is what the French love the most about the UK and ones that are already running about an hour away from us have been hugely successful. Not to mention that we have a large multicultural community, many of whom are also English too. I’m the end, we will see what works and what doesn’t! 👍
@@renovatingthechateau Wishing you success
Thanks so much 👍
Goodness me you sure know how to put youselves under pressure. But knowing what youve already done you will do it. Xxx
Oh I know Cherie, what are we like. But I have always had a dream of having our own pub, and this way we hopefully get to do a little taster of it x
@renovatingthechateau Oh believe me I know what running a pub is like. My family had one for 5 years in Eccleshill near Bradford called The Cricketers Arms. It's so much work, it's more a vocation than a job. After we sold it, they ran it for a few years, then it was knocked down and sold off for building land. Before the pub, we had a 16 bedroom bed and breakfast place. Thank goodness I'm retired and can just play in my veg garden lol. X
Hi Cherie, wowzers - well I’ll be coming to you for advice then. This whole plan is crazy to be honest. But the way we have it mapped out we close all businesses at the end of December for 2.5 months and open in March and then we do the same for six weeks at the end of July and for August to rent the chateau out entirely. That way we get a break for around 4 months of the year (except managing the farm). I’m hoping that’s enough to keep us sane, and the restaurant / pub will only be open three days a week (Fri - Sun). It’s all in theory, so again we can only see! Hope you’re well x

Thank you that’s really nice of you to say 👍😊
Wow! Your plating is beautiful! Everything looks delicious.
Thank you so much, my biggest challenge is controlling the portion sizes I give to people - way too big - I’ve improved over the years as I have learned not everyone is a glutton like me 😂I blame my grandma for that ❤️
