Mike, without your videos I don't think I'll started the project to rebuild a '66 model, I bought it totally dismounted and I'll have a lot of work make a nice car of it. Thanks for all that info you posted it helps me a lot.
Hello Benjamin
I hope these videos we be a helpful source for you 66 restoration
We are all wishing you the best of luck!!
Mike,
I am really impressed with the amount of thought, preparation and organisation that you have put into the process.
Thanks Brett
Can't be too organized when taking a car apart=)
Im glad you like the video..That Bench vice is about 12 YO... I think I bought at harbor freight but can't remember for sure
Harbor freight is a great source for many things we use to do the heavy lifting..
Sand blasting equip, engine hoists, jacks etc gloves gloves gloves!=)
You're moving fast now Mike, top work
Hi Phil
We are cresting the hill soon it will all be down hill!
can't wait to get some finish going
Take care bud!
Really great series of videos, thanks for the time and effort you put into this.
You answered my question from the other video about epoxy, great stuff
Sorry if I missed the answer but after sand blasting inner wings and inside of wings, body etc how would you finish them? POR15, coat of primer and good enough or would their be a 3 rd coat? Obviously waste of paint body colouring and clearing but just wondering about protecting possible rust from coming inside outwards? Absolute stunning build by the way. Attention to detail is second to none and as a Mechanic myself I can appreciate the work involved, however, bodywork and painting not my strong suit hence the question lol
Hi Kitts
Thanks! Great question and welcome to the channel
Soon ill be going over those areas and will be sure to give a detailed explanation for you there
The short version on this project..
Underside and inside fenders: 1 coat POR15 2-3 coats rubberized under coating 2 coats clear
Trunk and engine bay: same as above
Interior: 2 coats POR15 covered over with dynamat
All areas seen including door and fender jambs will be epoxy primer/primer surfacer/epoxy sealer/base coat clear coat
Timing of re-coats and how to transition from one area to the other is most important on all above but will be sure to cover that in great detail coming up soon
Hope this helps!=)
Mike M that's great thanks. Looking forward to rest of build.
