I am Norman's oldest son. I can tell you with surety that dad would strongly approve of this version. He has always said music transcends cultures. You have made this song your own with this version. Very nice and different.

Great player from Asia players
I think the finest ginseng in the world comes from the hills of West Virginia, and I met Norman Blake in West Virginia one time during the Down From the Mountain tour around 2003, and Norman and I discussed this song, and eventually I got to see Tony Rice perform with Peter Rowan in Kent, Ohio, around 2008, and then flatpicking became the way for me, and pairing a dreadnought guitar with Rosewood back and sides for the higher more lead tones and a dreadnought guitar with Mahogany back and sides for the lower rhythm tones became the way that my wife Suzanne and I play our original songs modeled after the traditional style and excellent playing on those 2 Blake and Rice albums, so hopefully someday we'll be able to sound as good as the playing on those excellent albums. Also, it's great to see this fine and refined "hillbilly" type of playing appreciated all around the world these days, it really makes me happy to see this, and though we often play American guitars, we also enjoy the quality instruments made in China these days as well, like the Eastman instruments that are really nice too. Great playing on this video, really nice pairing of the two instruments and fine lead guitar skills!

I’ve been playing and listening to Norman,s music for 40 years. You two made me smile watching this. Very refreshing and even hopeful to hear two young musicians from across the globe and across cultures who obviously love this music as much as me. If you ever come to Texas I would be happy to host you and do some picking. I could even get an audience together if you wanted to do a house concert. Thank you for posting this video !
