- OWINGS MILLS, MD - The Princeton wrestlers wrapped up competition at McDonogh School. Luke Stout at 197 won the title over No. 6 Silas Allred while Princeton finished with nine placewinners at the 2023 Navy Classic.
Stout's performance at the Navy Classic showcased his dominance and skill on the mat as he went 5-0 on the day. In the first bout against Brad Morrison from Lock Haven, Stout wasted no time, swiftly pinning his opponent in just 34 seconds. In his second match against Kolby Flank from Bloomsburg, Stout continued his winning streak, securing another pin. This time, the victory came at 4 minutes and 50 seconds. The third match, Stout faced off against Nick Lodato from Edinboro. Stout won by technical fall with a commanding score of 18-3 in 6 minutes and 54 seconds. Stout secured a decisive victory in the semifinals with an 8-2 decision. In the first place bout, Stout faced No. 6 Silas Allred from Nebraska and it proved to be a close contest. Stout wrestled hard and won 4-1 by decision in sudden victory.
"We competed really hard up and down the lineup," said Stout "Big shoutout to Drew at 125 getting bonus with a couple pins. For myself, I'm happy with the way I wrestled. I focused on wrestling my matches, setting the pace, and winning the handfight with a high attack rate. That worked out well, wearing guys down in every position. Doing the tough things is something we talk about a lot, and in my semi and finals match, that was a decision I had to make in order to win. For now, time to rest up a bit then get back to the grind."
Nate Dugan, Mikey Squires, Eligh Rivera, and Aidan Conner all made bracket runs to the semifinals.

They wouldn’t win one weight class against Penn State
IDK why you feel the need to say that. Not all teams can be #1. Literally only one can be. Princeton is an Ivy and can’t recruit all the depth and roster size of PSU, as it’s super expensive and needs a high academic performance (neither of which are necessarily true of PSU, though they’re a good college). The Ivy teams don’t even tend to use redshirts a lot because it’s expensive. Just enjoy the wrestling, no need to be weirdly competitive as a PSU fan!
That is a false statement.
What weight would they win? Humor me.
Well Princeton is the number one academic college in the united states, whereas, PSU is a safety school.
Penn St sucks at 125 since nico mega stop the 🧢
Good deal love this team they got that dawg in em
