@@johnbwill wrestling used to be very gentlemanly, violent within the rules, but then back to gentile. As with immigration we are seeing the cultures now participating drag things down like rude gestures during national finals. "the melting pot" has rotted. Any academic at all knew it mathematically had to come to pass.

Vito was in the top 4 in my book and beating Fix was an obvious (my book) but beating RBY at his own game got our attention and we (fans) knew he had a chance for gold if he stayed in his new found zone and he did just that! Hats off to you Vito and a loud hand clap to Flo for the work they did to give us a detailed behind the scene view of this incredible journey !

Beautiful story, him beating fix (and being an Oklahoma wrestler) huge, also then going on the beat Rby. Kid has so much to offer and I know like his father will give back to the community. We count wins and losses and what-nots and what could’ve’s as a metrics to this sport but Vito has accomplished so much and more important has a legacy in his family that is completely different than most. All the Bravos and onto the next VITO!

These young men are great ambassadors for wrestling. Hope they continue after high school with the same passion and success. It does raise the question though, are these high schoolers and collegiate athletes closer physically and technically with the gap closing or has overall wrestling among lightweights taken a step back? But then again I remember David Taylor and Logan Steiber in high school and they could go the distance with college wrestlers, but high schoolers just never thought to wrestle at the senior level.
