      @brianwaterman9154 honestly this doesnt really matter. I personally agree that players should be able to earn everything instead of just swiping mommys credit card, but as long as the microtransactions dont directly affect the gameplay then its a negligable part of the game.

    Imo, if they nerf the Kameos; Sonya should be the baseline of where everyone else is. She gives you good projectiles, aerial extensions, ring charge, and the leg grab for a combo extender. She ain't broke either, she's just solid.

      She's not solid. Her and Janet are flawed. Jax is what you call balanced because he does disrupt the defense equally

      @@christianhenry4173 Janet is one of the most used Kameos in the game, so your objectively wrong. SonicFox has gone on record saying Jax is cheap multiple times. If he's disrupting both the opponents defense and yours, you ain't doing something right.

    It is facts, I joined the scene as a casual with MKX and how they were promoting the scene/tournaments at the time. I am from South Africa. Actually the FGC Africa (for NRS games) was created like that.

    Kameos were such a waste. Could've been fully fledged characters instead. Going back to the basics of MK9 with no variations in this entry was a big step in the right direction, but turning this into yet another assist fighter was a huge mistake.

    Tweedy, I heavily disagree with nerfing kameos into the dirt. Devs need to appeal to the highest level and competitive circuit of their game, which means keeping the core mechanics strong- in this game, those are kameos. That said, the casual audience is important too. The ideal solution is to have the devs create a solo (no kameo) fighting mode. Casual players mostly LOVED the “kameo” system in MK11’s towers, so I don’t believe they hate kameos- I just think they hate being FORCED to use kameos.
    Edit: I agree with Fatal 8 being the biggest boom for the scene. That’s what got me competing too.

      Most characters are heavily gimped versions of previous iterations of the characters, because of kameos. They would need to heavily tweak or even rework most of the roster and that's not happening. If they were to just add a "no kameos" mode as it is the game will just be even bare-bones version of MK11.

      @@SlCKNESS_ I will take just the bare-bones version without Kameos. I play MK11 more than MK 1 because of it. As a casual MK gamer. Kameo's suck. MK has never been an assist game, and you should not need to rely on them to carry your main character. Also, I do not have time to spend hours learning a character like Homelander or any of the other complex characters along with all the crap the kameo does to make them extend combos, etc.. So they need something like Modern controls, where you can learn a character in a short amount of time and then take them online and be somewhat decent. This is appealing to the casual audience Like SF6. My take is this game was probably first designed to be the next Injustice, but things fell through so they made it the next MK game. Super rushed when it was first released and def got ripped off paying $100 for it. The customization also sucks real bad in this game. I respect MK11 a whole lot more, after this one.
      I will not be playing this game anymore and hope MK 2 goes back to 1 V 1 with 0 Kameos. If this is their direction for the foreseable future then I will no longer be playing MK. Pretty sad to say as this was one of the franchises I grew up with. Right now there is so many better titles out there (Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Multiverses). Plus, with new games on the horizon like Fatal Fury City of Wolves, this game is going to die in no time. The pro's will not even be able to save it.

      @@EZUP4704 100% on par here. I've been playing MK since the first game in the early 90s. Mortal Kombat has NEVER been an assist game like you said. This doesn't even feel like MK anymore, it does feel like Injustice with MK characters imported in. It's not dark enough for MK either. It feels very...fruity.

      Play different character combos. I think this game is way more interesting than 11 and just as good a mkx. I main off "Meta" kameos (Jax and Sektor) and the characters I play with them aren't as good on paper compared to the "top" kameos for those characters. I play Nitara Sektor, Geras Sektor, Baraka Jax, and Kung Lao Jax.

      They need to be reworked. So that they add a little something but main roster should do the HEAVY lifting. They need to be buffed. A LOT.

      @@deadliftdevotion15 they wouldn’t be the same bc some kameos launchers work differently. Some let you jump cancel and some don’t which it turns gives diff combo routes. Several kameos rn don’t even have launchers so it wouldn’t make them the same lol

      @@DrewDaJuiceman there’s practically like 3 options you’re suggesting. Ambush combo extender, summon launcher on ground or summon launcher that you can jump cancel. Then the other kameo moves would be just a negative summon. So there would only be 3 types of kameos and they all just add some combo damage so they’re all practically the same besides meterless launcher exists

    I love the kameo system. They give combo variety to the game. But assist games are hard to balance because if a team is broken, do you nerf the kameo or the base character?

      Make the kameo cool down more even balanced between the kameos or make it a meter where you have to build it up. I feel a timer is what throws a lot of players off and is out of control of the players when they can decide what will happen at a specific time but they can control what they do themselves

    I love videos like this. Instead of just bashing and attacking the game. You're giving ideas that can have a productive change that can impact the game in a better direction. I love mk1 but these changes would really help spice the game up. Less nerfs to the main characters and just buff the characters that struggle. And not the baby stuff but like you said " go hammmm." Sub has been melting since day one... He needs BUFFS. So does scorpion, Havik and many more... I want all the characters to shine. More modes would really help it out. I want the tag back. I would love itttt ❤️❤️❤️. Thank you tweedy

    buff ideas, spread the word
    Havoc: He needs at least five new attack strings, he needs his legacy move that titan havoc has were he takes off his head and rolls it but its a mid, has the same affect as reptiles acid ball, and also hits mid exploding on contact. he also needs another one of his legacy moves that again titan havoc has where he bends his hole body for a low projectile and the amp of that can be a knock down allowing for combo extentions for cameos like scorpion
    Sub-zero: he needs his attack strings made slightly faster except for his overhead, he also needs 1 or 2 new attack string launchers, both his regular and amp iceball needs to be faster to not only be able to combo with it off of normal attack strings but in juggle combos too. He should have the ability to throw his ice clone, i also think he should have his ice burst special back with the same proporties as mkx to compliment his ice clone(but just does not send you that far away). lastly he needs some of his damage scailing off ground freeze.
    Scorpion: should be buffed by making his amp ground tp a launcher again and make the cancel built in to both his regular and amp tp. buff the amp hellfire move by removing the damage over time and making it function like how it does in mkx allowing him to combo after hitting it. he needs new strings some mix ups(i personally want his mkx overhead back). some moves need to be sped up
    Quan shi: needs his mind control move from mkx back, and make half his attack strings faster. and finally his low tentacle needs to be one bar
    Raiden: change raiden's b2 back to the mkx launcher but make it as slow as sub'z b2. give him back his vicinity blast move back with the same properties as mkx. Give him back his mkx amp lightning projectile back for combo extentions but have his regular fully charged move have the same proportys as the amp. he also needs to be buffed by making his amp electrocute special launch no matter how many bars he uses
    liu kang: for starters nerf his f4 one button pressure but give him his 113 mkx launcher back along with maybe 2 or 3 more new attack strings to make up for his pressure and to make it less braindead. make his low fireball slightly faster, change his air fireball to the mkx fireball and the amp the one we have now. give him back his mk 11 dragon parry, and finally make his fatal blow start up 2 hits but the first one restands
    kung lao: nerf tf out of his wake up special by making it unsafe af on block. give him back his mkx or 9 spin back but have it have work the same as mk11 so he can use it more than two times in a combo. swap his dive kick now for a mix between his mkx or 9 dive kick. he needs his mkx tp, and his low hat back, but nerf his mix up buttion's he has now by making the overhead follow up slightly slower. give him his mk11 21212 attack string and his mkx 44 launcher attack string back. and also he needs his hat spin.
    Nitara: buff her by making her command dash like homelander so for instance all of her normal attack strings that leaves her in the air cost no bar anymore to command dash and it cost no bar when she is in the air command dashing for combos but the next one after that does. and also make fer overhead that leaver her in the air slightly faster. she should also be able plus after hitting her bf2 special allowing her to cameo combo after it. lastly give her back her legacy projectile move back.
    Reiko: give him his invasion boss special move, the one is like jades dead butterfly move from mk11 but it launches and he uses his spear(this is already in the game files btw). give this guy at least 1 more special move that involes his knife that's on his person but he never uses for some reason. he needs like 5 new normal attack stings involving his knife and his spear, maybe 2 of them be launchers.
    smoke: give him his smoke cloud move back from mk9, along having it hit low but have the same start up as the one he got now. make his command dash special cancelable anywhere instead of just near yr opponent. also another command dash sending him backwards but the max distance is half screen but he can cancel it at any time during that animation too. and lastly make it easyer to do ground combos after his amp db 4 special.
    Reptile: give him his acid pool amp special move back but make the amp the special and make the amp of that last longer along with his claw swipe move from mk x. give him 3 to 4 attack stings and have at least one be a launcher and at least 2 be for mixup followups. and lastly allow him to move after doing his forceball just a tad bit more almost like how mkx was but just not as broken
    Li mei: 4 or 5 new attack strings, 2 a launchers 1 plus frame one, the rest strings into lows. she needs a new special that let's you command detonate her lantern with one fast motion, fast enuf to do it mid combo. change her base air overhead special hit reaction on airborne opponents, instead of a knockdown it leaves li mei grounded and the opponent in the air allowing for combos like how she could in 3d mk games. also give her back her overhead command special and the amp allow for ground combos. and lastly allow her to be able to combo with one amp projectile grounded and in the air.
    y'all stay tune i got more heat for every character

    Kameos can work just fine, but they need tutorials for every single character. Maybe the tutorials can even include two or three suggestions for each characters best cameos

      I actually thought of the special cancel into special before they did it for Johnny and I never said a word because I thought it was way too strong but it's here so after that I think anything can happen at this point. I mean, they already did Time travel and we're still getting different ideas and strategies for the game. I'm starting to think their willingness to try new things is wide open right now

    I'm a casual player and I like the Kameo system. Much more than the variation system (which is what it is). Kameo's allow for variety of gameplay while letting characters keep a majority of their signature moves instead of being a MK repeat.

    I wish the story was more original and grounded focusing on Raiden and Kung Lao instead of becoming the whole multiverse thing. Especially now that Onaga was rumored but became a prefight line for Reiko, I would've preferred him be a main villain over "original timeline Shang Tsung"

    Yo Tweedy, I agree with a lot of what you say. For me as a casual player, cameos has ruined mk1. I also think the character designs were far better in mk11.
    It's because of the cameos, I gave up playing mk1.

    Im not a casual and I honestly hope kameos don’t return for MK2, I like the idea of trying something new and expanding the roster in different ways, but I feel like they can have too much of a say in certain matchups and it takes away from the playable characters. That, or just nerf them hard for the next game.

    Imo the biggest issue with kameos is the unsafe into ambush shit. That's the type of stuff that makes kameos unappealing to casuals because to them it's too frustrating to deal with, especially when you get into the frame data/jailing shit

      Yes being aggressive during your opponents cooldowns is way too daunting imo. Remove kameos so you can lose neutral and change what you complain about tbh

The problem is that CASUAL players dont want to worry about managing not only their super and kameo meters, but also their oponents super and kameo meters. People forget that most tweedy (and most other mk creators) viewers arent casual players. We might not be pros in the competetive scene, but were clearly more into the game than the average player.

    As a kasual player i agree 100%. The one thing that killed the game for me are the stupid ambush kameos such as goro up punch, kano knives, stryker grenades etc. So much block pressure is just stupid imo. The only ambushes that should excist are ofcourse the combo extensions and the setup ones such as sareena meter drain or ice armor.
    And then ofcourse the cast should be buffed. We even have less strings than we did in mk11 which is just crazy. Give more tools to all the characters so you can actually see different playstyles on the same character.

    I pretty much agree with everything here. The only thing I disagree with is the tag aspect.
    People are looking for couch co-op experiences now more than ever and MK1 has a great foundation to provide that. Imagine a co-op story mode? Or co-op towers? 2 v 2 pvp? People want to play MK with their partners, friends, family etc. Assists just feel like blue balls for a tag game mode, and it’s arguably less appealing. Having 2 v 2 as an option would bring players back imo even if it’s somewhat busted at a competitive level it’s just fun and people want fun.
    Even competitively Imagine Honeybee and Biohazard teaming up to take on the Chilean twins? People would watch just because of the potential storylines. Imagine how many more playable characters you might see on screen at a time?

    GIVE SMOKE A DAM MID, HIS SMOKE BOMBS BACK, MAKE 1,2, 3+1 a COMMAND GRAB, OR keep him
    ow he is but let me spend meter to make the cancels plus AND/OR just make vicious vapors minus 5-7 range so i dont get full comboed for lag or miss inputs also sometimes i get clipped by projectiles that are obviously behind me

      True kameos seem strong. I think if they had a more balanced cool down players would appreciate it, it would allow them time to use their playable character more effectively and planned out. Or maybe make it have to build up like a meter

    I don’t think they even have to nerf kameos so much. If they added a game mode where you play without kameos a lot of people would be happy. I love kameos but for people who haven’t played or don’t like team fighters I get how it would be annoying.

    I always said they need a mode that alternates special types of games every week like a no cameo mode one week or 50 second rounds or a beginning character mode where you have to have no games played up to 100 or fight those creative mix characters on very hard and out skins in the mode every week

    Maybe make MK1 be the trilogy and Armageddon of the reboot era. Have every character and guest from MK9-MK11 in MK1. Even the stages, costumes, etc. and add an arcade mode similar to Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition in MK1. And bring back friendships, babalities, animalities, brutalities, and hara-kiris. And maybe add mini-games like Puzzle Kombat, motor kombat, and chess kombat.

    This game is so unfinished. I play very competitively in Kl and half the base cast doesn't need a kameo and the rest depend on them entirely. They can't even balance characters (ex. Peacemaker, Homelander) I never thought I would see such laziness of NRS and cash grab. Get rid of Boon he doesn't even care about his own game. Your are 100% right on your take about saving this game. Great vid man 👍.

    Best ideas yet. Kameos making weak characters good will never be more appealing than characters being good by themselves n the kameos being like a plus 1. Definitely think they should make rank ft3 with no character lock, because online kasual matches literally be lasting for like 1 or 2 matches before someone leave.

    Tweedy apply for a lead design coordinator position at NRS because I think your ideas are at least 10 times better than when I’ve seen NRS doing…
    Llike this recent patch to debuff top 2 but result is making the number two player in the game like bottom 20 and making the number one player in the game maybe number three or four OK makes sense😂 and like these little buffs/debuffs to the same character over and over or several months often not changing the characters ranking much at all are kind of getting annoying shouldn’t take more than two (over buff/debuff, correct if needed).

    At this point nobody is not going to be happy with no MK games. People complain to much about it. NRS try to do something new Something different people complain. The games does feel incomplete. I wish there was more for us to do. But I love playing this game and love the kameos. People can Either deal with it or you don't.

    Tweedy, I'm a hella casual, and I like the kameo system. However, I do agree with you about the Kano knives, Goro up-punch, etc. Basically, nothing is ever punishable with those moves.

    Personally i feel like people just got upset over a bunch of small issues. The core gameplay is pretty fun, and even when you lost, typically it doesnt sting so bad. Iunno, maybe this game is just my cup of tea

      I feel like it’s a lot of small issues though. It feels like there’s a lot of content missing, even the core gameplay to me it feels like characters should have more moves, idk. I kind of liked MK11 though, not saying MK1 is bad per se but it could definitely be a lot more fun if NRS cared to add some more GOOD updates (stop nerfing characters and make more characters powerful and fun)

    The 6 perfect kameos in this game is Sonya, Mavado, Darrius, Tremor, Janet and Cyrax
    Every kameo should be like them
    Combo extenders
    Setups tools
    Stuff being safe very expensive and not easy to put off
    The rest is buffings the characters to Johnny’s level
    Give faster mids to everyone (9f, 10f and 11f)
    Strong Gimmicks
    Great pressure tools
    A real good zonning tool to zonners

    Legacy is what MK needs.
    Between mk9-mk1, sub zero has had 16 different special moves, and non of them (outside iceball and slide) make into the next game.
    *Klone survived 1 game before it disappeared in mk11, and ground ice made it into mk11, but was banned*

    Completely agree with you Tweedy. A great example is Sonya. She's been buffed and she's very fun to fight or fight against. She has good moves but it's not like there's nothing to do against her. It opens up so many layers for both players. The way to go is buff the summons and nerf the ambush meta. It's more fun to play and more fun to watch.

    I would say im a kasual player but i find it annoying sektor and cyrax are going to base characters now but female. Wheres cetrion, jade, scarlet.
    In mk 7 i think i learnt how to do the combos in order to pass through to the single player mission mode, it was frustrating but at least im learning to become a better player. Also sometimes doing the special moves like blade spark with baraka and rain geyser i cant seem to perform the moves and i tried two different controls.
    Also allow easy brutalities instead of easy fatalities

    Fatal 8 was amazing. As someone who had never played an mk before, I remember I thought mkx looked kinda interesting maybe when I saw the e3 trailer but that was it and completely forgot about it shortly after. Then I happened to stumble on fatal 8 on youtube and then I was like 'oh i gotta get this game!'

    Life long MK player...I hate the cameo system. It is not 1v1, 2v2, or 3v3. It's just a meter bar disguised as a character.

    NRS needs to work on making a good neutral. MK11 had the right idea by trying to make a neutral focused MK game, but it was slow and boring.
    MK1’s neutral suffers from the same problems as MK11, they need to speed up the neutral to make the game funner to watch.

    Idk if it’s true that most casuals dislike kameos. Maybe the vocal ones on Reddit, but they have complained throughout the life cycle of every nrs game. They hated mk11 so much but now they post like everyday saying how good it was 💀 after this game’s life cycle is done, they’re gonna talk about how great it was

    This game was fun when it came out now that every kameo got nerfed the game got staler every time . Making characters weaker instead of good buffs is what ruined the game since we have basically no offline experience the online needs to be very versatile and broke . Not to were you’re limited to pick a good pair of characters but just have fun with every kameo like it should be with everything being viable
