Takeda's gameplan is 100% revolved around wiff punishing.
And grab/shimmys
Takeda is the reason I'm getting back into this game but I struggle with him online compared to characters such as Reiko and Scorpion.
He serms hard to use.

28% off a grab is nutty because that wasn’t even optimal.
I feel like Takeda is one of those characters that's going to require a lot of time to figure out how to play him optimally. Similar to how Fujin was in MK11
Same with Ermac in this game
Fujin wasn’t so bad but Mustard said mastering his wavedash was really crucial, and that was the hardest part for me 😵😢

@@dejavu8632for sure. With ermac it may have been difficult to master because of how quick his float is unlike sindels float. Also his bf1 cancels but honestly not as hard as controlling homelander.

Theres a reason why nobody played lasher in MKX. They wanted him to be Spencer/ Omega Red so bad but you may as well just never use his tendrils. Also, he has no wakeup. Everyone can just press 4 on his armored wakeup and knock him out. You will have to be reeeealy smart playing him. But i see most people going back to Johnny and Sindel in tournaments. Takeda didnt get the DLC privledge like PM and HL did.
How I remember kunai is back=retreat so it stays for later and forward=aggressive so explodes on hit

Maybe it’s mostly cos he’s a new character to learn but he has SO MANY specials and most have a cancel or range-varying option so it’s a lot to remember 😝 At least this seems to mean he has a lot of combo routes but I’m not sure how many yield optimals. He was weird like that in MKX too 😂
His standing kick can be comboed into his swinging kick that can be enhanced to keep it going. I’ve been experimenting in invasions and level the character up
the way ive been playing him is using s4 to go into grapple on block, and mixup with that. if they anti air i do ex shuriken, if they upblock i go for a grab, or you can even do his little spin attack in the air
Nice jax pairing. Can you make a video about your most memorable matches in tournaments? Like the "pick someone else" moment vs Sonicfox, switching characters vs Dr. Gross, The Kolosseum S5 vs TheMightyUnjust, etc?
With high damage, being able to convert any hit into something launching, amazing range, combo of throws, setups and pressure with ninja stars, a decent projectile and air projectile, good damage. And that's before you add any Kameos to improve any part of that you want.

Nah fujin was brain dead bro had a low that low profile mid projectiles he had some of the best zoning as well he had the best get out of jail free card with air walk

Takeda is so fun but not easy to use strong, but has to know what your doing love it
The damage difference between bf2 and bf3 routes is a lot its a must to learn the hard routes.
A lot of people don’t seem to realize that you can choose which side to go to with EX spear. A lot of times you could’ve kept the corner but didn’t. Sick gameplay regardless though.
Instead of ending Jax combos with b2,1 bf2 you can do j2,4 db2 to get more damage. But I think u have to do close Jax
Can confirm I use close Jax then j24, db2 for meterless version. You can do j24, db2*, j24, db2* j24, db2, close Jax, j24, db2. If I remember right it’s about 52%
If his tendrils were harder to jump over i feel like hed be a lot stronger. But unfortunately i think the lack of a decent up close mid, upblockable strings and slow frame data clocks him at mid tier for me cuz he still has good damage and decent neutral
I use takeda jannet she basically does the same thing as jax but at the end instead of doing back 2 1 I get to do jump 2 4 with air grapple it's does like 10% more damage
Takeda gameplay so much fun to watch and watching the match up against scorpion feels like watching a movie😁

Man yall need to utilize the new uppercut jump buff, literally turns any fatal blow combo into 50 percent that they can’t break.
I had been using the uppercut jump cancel since the game came out almost every match and now it almost feels cheap,like I get so excited when they won’t stop their pressure and they have less than half life cause I know what I’m finna do to them,uppercut is really easy to land

You can do forward 1 3 into Jax and forward 1 2 2+3 into Jax and amplified spear to extend

hey btw i watched your takeda jax combos and i found out instead of the b21 you can do the air 24 and db2 again when jax is holding them and it gives better damage (like 2%-3%)and the option to spend meter for even more damage

I'm pretty sure his 12 string is an auto-shimmy so maybe you should grab more frequently to get people trying to tech so you can open them for big damage. Also you can grab out of his f4 overhead just like you can with rain's.

He seems pretty low tier. I've been spanking Takeda's all day, and I did NOT have that same luck with Homelander. With Homelander I was losing to people who just picked him up and the camera was super janky. I quickly knew he was gonna be pay to win. Takeda feels very subpar. I know how to block and punish him. Didn't know what to do about Homelander.
My problem is I’ve been excited for Takeda since he was announced and he was my first main in X. Unfortunately, I’m a Kung Lao main and Takeda is the EXACT opposite of Lao. I just don’t know if he’s a good fit for me

I think if one of his wrecka hits was safe on block it would change him a lot, the fact they’re all punishable is hard, I think if you put it in non stop there shouldn’t be poke gaps because then being slow and highs kind of ruins the whole point of it. Like Tanya’s Kobo variation in X had ways to keep it safe so there was more of a mind game to it. At the very least the first wrecka hit should be a mid.
Been waiting for the online games! Iv been online a couple times but I still need to practice a lot more. And records don’t mean anything, you’re learning a new character whether your better than average or not it still takes time to learn.

His wavedash is pretty fast and easier to do than most imo but not sure if he’ll rely on it, ironically.
I think he's kind of like you know Sub-Zero like he doesn't have crazy crazy damage but he's very tricky and he has a lot of like options
Tweedy you're a far better player then me maybe you can get this to work. Takada has a lot of strings and moves that result in him being airborne that keep him safe from jax's overhead. One of his standing buttons I think can even be canceled into the swing for instant overheads while Jax is ground pounding. His armored move's alt version where takada does the overhead kick has the ability to avoid jaxs unblocakble yet you can lock the openent in place forcing them to block and get hit by the unblockable. This leads to a full combo
Summon Jax takada's weird tripple hitting jab canceled into back forward 3 back seems like a good setup

I wouldn't say he is bottom tier, but he is low tier as a character, too much gaps, too slow, range doesn't help when almost everything you do can be just armored through or ambushed, he is so stupidly reliant on timing, why would i ever go play takeda when i can play other characters that do what he does better, and easier. He is flashy and fun to watch but it ends there, disappointed was willing to main him but not until he gets some changes.

Also tremors metallic variation gives plus frames if y’know how to use him correctly

Low tier if you don’t hit confirm that’s about it just don’t be dumb mix in his stars he even have delay mixups I use Darrius for meter drain and decent damage combos
