It was driving me nuts trying to figure out how to do that on my Mackie ProFX10v3. Thank you! I wish you were in charge of labels for the mixer!
I have a mixer just like that, and I can't hear the playback and record a voice separately
Finally someone who made some sense on this issue. Kudos! Subbed!
BEST VIDEO OF THIS MIXER ON RUclips! THANK YOU SIR!
Thanks for sharing this video ... Do you have a video on how you hook up the laptop to record and playback?
Great video but is it possible to send the sound to the main output instead of the phones?
Man, I’ve been slamming my head through the wall over this. I knew it was possible haha!
It looks like the "to phones/CR" button is pre fader? How do you monitor and adjust volume of the channels when doing a mix minus over usb for a livestream or podcast? Do you have to monitor the CR for the mix minus and mains for the actual mix? Any tips or tricks on how to do that as a one man shop?
I've had mine for about a year and LOVE IT!
Just bought this mixer, excellent product. Your video was really helpful to understand the USB/Blend controls.......... thank you!
I've subscribed.
You sir have done a great deed! Thank you for this extremely helpful video.
I use Chromebook for everything. Is there a way to use the USB out?
Does the USB input kill 2 usable chanels in the 1-2 mode or do I have still 10 usable chanels?
I have a Yamaha MG10XUF right now and I can't use chanel 9/10 since they are used as USB input ones since i need this as output from my PC. So basically it's a 8 chanel mixer for me
Hi, you talk about doing a video for a 2 channel mix minus if you don't have a V3. I have a Behringer XR16 and a Mackie Profx12v2. I'm thinking about using the 12v2 as the interface to the recording software. How do I set up the mix minus in the 12V2 without having the mix minus button? Can you point me to the other video you talk about? Thank you!
Hello,
Is this a good choice for a rehearsal room with two loudspeakers behringer eurolive vp 2520.
Mostly for singing.
Hi. Excellent demo. Question…How many xlr microphones can the fx12 take? I have 8 Shure sm7b and 2 Ev20’s. Can I use this mixer and get left and right sound?
Which preamp best? Yamaha or mackie? Please sir
Incredibly helpful. Thank you.
So what if I want to play a backing track from my computer, sing to it,and then capture the mix (voice + backing track) from my mixer, so I can stream it for a live show? I am using an audible cable L-R plugged into the headphone jack of my computer and into line 4/5.
On the ProFX10 you could accomplish this by loading your backing track into its own track in your DAW, (I use the free Pro Tools that came with the Mackie). Then plug headphones into your mixer 'phones out' and play the backing track in the DAW, hear it in the phones and adjust the volume. Now, create a new track in the DAW and arm it to record. Plug your mic into the mic input on the mixer. Hit Play in the DAW, hear the back track, sing and adjust your gain to not saturate the main meters. Then stop, make sure the DAW is idling at the beginning of the tracks, hit Record in the DAW and sing/record your vocals singing to the back track. Finish and save it. Then export a mix of the 2 tracks, i.e. bounce a mix.wav or mix.mp3.
Hope it works for you, there are other ways to do it, but this way you can adjust the vocals independent of the backing track before bouncing. Peace!
so this should work with Streamyard and bringing guests to the podcast where using other mixer I couldn't hear them but with this one I should be able to hear them and they should be able to hear me as well as the guests will be able to hear both of us... right???? Awesome video! thanks!!!
Yes but remember you need to have your guests be set up with a mix-minus so they hear everyone else but not there own voice.
I’ve been trying to get this to work with OBS, I basically added a second audio interface to do some vocal sidechaining, but perhaps with this, I can remove that second audio interface and go back to the original plan which was to run everything through the mackie mixer and let one channel side chain the second channel 🤔….
Hi,
I can't find this settings in Reaper and have exactly the same problem here. Do you (or anyone reading this) know how to fix it there? Thank you!
Sir have you tried this to zoom? Evrerytimr im using my profxv3 and talking thru my mic, in hearing myself to thru the monitors.
Still can’t get it to play thru monitors without recording playback on recording track.
Most important question:
What outputs go to Studio monitor speakers ?
I just bought a new laptop my old laptop worked good the problem im having is I do online bass lessons and with my old laptop I was able to send a bass signal thru my Mackie profx12v3 mixer and still be able to use my laptop mic to talk with my new Acer nitro V 15 if I use my mixer my laptop mic does not work
i have this mixer but I cannot get my usb audio to come through the main channel, only when I press the phones/control room button. Any idea how to fix this?
Will the USB interface works on Android phone via a cable USB B-C?
In fact, I want to use it to connect to an Android phone for ZOOM meetings or voice calls. So can I adjust the BLEND knob to hear the other party's voice?
Thank you !
Great video!!
Can you bypass the Onyx preamps on Mackie profx10v3?
Hey there, What if you want those tracks to go out into monitors not headphones, but to not record what's being *played* in Logic and only what you are playing? Is that possible?
How do I hear the playback in Audcity and at the same time record vocals on a separate channel in this mixer
Maybe I took the short bus to school, but how do I get a USB signal from the computer to the main outs for a hybrid Teams meeting (main outs go to a powered PA in the meeting room) without getting the echo feedback loop? If I select USB 3/4 and the signal goes to the mains into the PA so people in the room can hear the online people, doesn't it also go back through the USB back to the computer causing the feedback loop?
Plug the PA system in to the Monitor output of the Mixer then us channel 3/4 on the PC audio to the Mixer then on the Mixer on turn up the Monitor level on 9/10 for the USB audio. set the levels of the meet room to the broadcast.
Well that would have been nice to know I have owned this device for quite some time and I have it set up with a mix minus setup; going to try this out now ….
Hi. I have a Profx10v3 but am only familiar with recording via an M-Audio Fast Track Ultra. When I record with the M-Audio, I first launch its "virtual mixer." Before I even start Cakewalk, I verify the instrument signal in my speakers (or mic signal in my phones with the speakers powered off). Next I pull the virtual faders ALL the way down. This is how I ensure I will ONLY hear the mic/instrument during recording IF real-time monitoring is on (Cakewalk calls this "Input Echo"). Essentially, I ONLY want to hear what the computer hears during recording (like you said). Should I have the speakers plugged into the "Main" or the "Control Room" outputs to do this with the Mackie? No matter what I try, when using the Mackie I hear the signal even if real-time monitoring (input echo) is off. Thanks!
Send the audio from the Software back to the mixer via CH1 & CH2, turn the blend knob to ch1/2 push in the button under the blend (TO PHONES/CR) plug your monitors into the control room outputs or use your headphones. You are now lessening to the audio from the PC.
@@expertisland thanks!
@@porknbeans7420 How does the audio quality and latency compare with the M-Audio? I found the Fastrack Ultra to have very low latency and decent sound quality, not quite as good as Roland but still good. The only issue I had with the FT was the blue screen issues with Windows due to unsupported driver but apart from that it was excellent.
I have a mixer just like that, and I can't hear the playback and record a voice separately
So if I am feeding audio from my computer, through the mixer, and out to PA speakers, is there any advantage to using the USB vs the 3.5 input from the laptops sound card? Which is best?
There is a very basic integrated audio in your Laptop not even a sound card so the DA converter in a Profx Much better Can run at a high bit rates of 24bit/192kHz
@@expertisland Thank you!
Really a great vid!
Been trying to get this to work for my iMac but I just can't figure it out, regardless of what I do it seems to just record what's going in regardless of what I do.
Hi . Can i use Alto Ts-308 as home theater center speaker ! Thanks.
Can you try the things that same thing the Maki version 2 and Tascam interphase
is this work with logic pro x ???
On pro tools it keeps putting the drum beats into everything I do as part of the next multi track. It’s super frustrating and I can’t figure it out
My usb works but the connection to the laptop won’t stay connected. Any ideas why?
I check 3 things usd port on the computer then cable last google usd com port conflict
Check if your usb ports are USB 2.0 or 3.0, match it with the supported USB type listed on the vendor website / product specification , if you have more USB port of the same supported type try to change it. Check that all the drivers and required software are installed. Maybe you have a damaged cable and changing it will fix the issue. if you can see any error messages try to google them, if none of the above works you could try to contact customer support either directly or contacting the third party vendor you bought the device from
Is there a way to do this without wearing the headphones to layer tracks?
Yes the monitors in place of the headphones
Can you record in Mono as well as Stereo?
if you're recording vocals then it's best to record in Mono
Can someone explain to me what the point of having 10 channels is, if you can only record one channel at a time. No multi track function, am I missing something?
It's a full 2 track interface with the benefits of 8ch mixer.
Left ch1 right ch2
I cant record on Pro Tools First without pressing the L/R button on my Fx12V3. The sound seems echoed in the headphones even with the reverb FX muted, the playback is normal but while recording it sounds bad.
Did you managed to solve this? I´m trying to record bass lines with Audacity´s built in metronome but that "echoe" persists and makes recording imposible!
@@fitoelbajista reinstall
Happy New Year! I am having an issue with my JBL MKii 305p monitors and I'm hoping you can help me resolve it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for my audio interface (mackie profx6v3) several times so I don't think this is the source of the problem. I have my interface selected as my playback device and I have the Mackie ASIO Driver selected for input/output in FL Studio. I also have selected the audio interface as the output target on the master channel in FL.
If I route the audio to my headphones from my interface I get a signal and can hear the audio playing, however there is no signal on the main meters and no sound whatsoever when I try to route the audio to my main outs. I have balanced XLR male to female cables connected from my left and right main outs to my left and right studio monitors respectively. I have switched the input sensitivity to +4dBu since both my speakers and interface support it and my cables are balanced. Everything is brand new and I am running out of solutions to try. Please Help!
Check that you're sending the audio to ch3&4 back to your mixer from your pc, not ch1&2 is just for monitoring to control room or headphones not main out
Thank you !
How to record on audacity from Yamaha mg12-xu
