    Hello! I'm just a Mom in the States looking to get back into the hobby, I've been doing my research and found Nick's KFS channel. After watching his recent video I wanted to come over, like, subscribe, binge your videos and say thank you. Seeing you and Adrian share your knowledge and be such incredible mentors to those amazing kids really warms my heart and gives me hope for the future. Thank you! (Edit I have to add I have always wanted to visit Australia since I was a little girl so to watch your videos will be such a treat!)

      Thank You for your kind words Kerry! we have some beautiful places here in our country as do you in yours, I also love seeing some of your native habitat, we live in a beautiful world I hope we don't destroy it, it's important to pass on the knowledge to the younger generations and I loved seeing how much they enjoyed it, we had a great time, I hope you enjoy my relaxing videos, there is a lot of miles in them but worth every minute of filming just to show people what can be found out there and hopefully bring awareness to protect it. 🙂

      Thank you, your welcome, yes it used to be pretty boring around here to when I was younger, there were a few good ones around but they seem to be popping up everywhere now, the hobby is getting much more popular now for sure, maybe it's the sub tropical weather we have and it is pretty much central to the north and the south so it makes for a good spot to be.

      @@australianbiotopes4563 i would do it too... Not related to the video, do you know how to get Aponogeton vanbruggenii from Australia? Cant find anywhere in EU... Same for Eleocharis dulcis

    • @australianbiotopes4563
      @australianbiotopes4563  2 года назад

      @@bolsa3136 It is almost imposable to export from here, I know Aquagreen from the Northern Territory has done it before with special licensing but he said it was such a hard process it made the plants very expensive, if you are trying to replicate an Australian Biotope I can suggest using Aponogeton crispus, it is much more obtainable in the hobby and would make a good substitute, for the Eleocharis you could probably use some other type of sedge as well that looks similar, I hope this helps.

    • @bolsa3136
      @bolsa3136 2 года назад +1

      @@australianbiotopes4563 Thanks for the advise. Great as usual! I e-mailed aquagreen 2 days ago, they got back to me and answered it was difficult to export to EU. I asked if "difficult" means "impossible". Possible difficult is idiomatic for "impossible" in Australia, but as euro I fail to grasp that subtilty. Waiting for the answer.

      @@bolsa3136 our laws here are so stupid, I can understand import laws because they are worried about what could come in, but going out they are just as bad, I'm surprised our country functions, there is so much to go through with every little thing and the government is never in a hurry so most people give up.

    • @australianbiotopes4563
      @australianbiotopes4563  2 года назад +1

      Yes I agree Malcolm I'd love to have a biotope at this size with this equipment as well, but not everyone is into the biotope idea and are happy just to have a natural looking tank, I have seen a lot of biotopes going around that are totally wrong as well and this tank isn't claimed to be a biotope but still is more impressive then some so called biotopes 🙂

    there not even anything in the video no info no talking thought i would find value in the video somewhere but nope there was nothing in it of any value at all looks vary nice but some info about what we are looking at would be nice

      @australianbiotopes4563  2 года назад

      Look at 0:31 of the video it has the information on it if you're interested in the gear that was used, the fish species are named after that, I'm sorry I can't do much better for you, I don't have a sound recorder yet, it has cost me a lot of money to get the gear I have, in time I will hopefully have better videos, in the video it self the sound is very loud from the water flow and the customers in the shop in some of it, I'm happy to answer any questions you might have though.

      @Australian Biotopes I am just learning about tanks and fish keeping and was browsing for more info nothing wrong with your video at all it's vary pretty it's great quality I was just hoping for Info as the video was playing I guess like when it zooms into some of the plants and fish even things like the fish and if they have names some of the story behind the build plants used and why how many different fish are there just any cool info as the video was playing to let me know more about it but it was a vary pretty video to watch sorry if I sounded awful in my comment by value I mean info I take away from watching the video and what I learn. I could of said it better. It's a very pretty video. You take vary nice recordings, and it's put together well keep up the great work I would like to see just a bit more information as the video is playing but that's just a personal problem don't listen to me

      @@ZNsolo101 I originally started this channel more to show off native fish in the wild and I do biotope aquariums as well but I have noticed the how to videos are very popular so stay tuned I will be doing one in the next few weeks and it will be explained as well, it will also be filmed step by step, in the new year I will be doing a lot more of them as well, I do understand that some people are just learning something that I have been doing for years and it is now second nature to me, when I setup now most times I don't even think about it, the last video I was just showcasing for a friend and I didn't get to see the build it self but the next one should be pretty cool without me giving to much away 🙂

    He’s tried to replicate the PantaRhei style of aquarium but doesn’t have the right design or HP to pull it off… Still looks good though.

    • @australianbiotopes4563
      @australianbiotopes4563  2 года назад +2

      Yes we discussed that when he first did it, the PantaRhei tank is beautiful and we all love it, it has given us all some inspiration for this style of tank, he wasn't trying to copy it a 100%, it actually has different areas of habitat were it starts of fast at the top end and gets deeper with a lesser flow towards the end, I actually think he has pulled it off really well for what he wanted and when it does grow in properly it will look really good, it isn't really finished I was told a chiller will probably be added and maybe a misting system over the top, ether way I will follow it's progress and maybe film some more on it in the future.

    • @MrCites1
      @MrCites1 2 года назад +1

      @@australianbiotopes4563 Yes, it still looks good. To make these systems work more efficiently you really need a false bottom and huge water flow… In Oz it’s hard to replicate for a reasonable price. It would be a great design for Euastacus with a chiller.
