Great to hear, I have had a couple a goes at the guitar too. On previous attempts I started being able to play a few riffs with single strings but always came crashing down with chords - especially C. I feel like I have fat fingers (but that doesn't seem to stop many famous guitarists it seems) and so far a few weeks with a couple of sessions a day has not been enough to get a consistent C Chord but this time I'm determined to get it! Thanks for the tips Nate!

I know im pretty late to this video, but I have just started guitar lessons, I have to admit this chord was causing me a lot of problems as my third finger kept killing the string below. My guitar teacher recomended pushing the string up slightly so that you only just touch the thickest string. This kills the sound of the thickest string incase you accidently strum it and also lifts your finger that little bit heigher so you no longer touch the string below. I hope it helps someone :)

I've tried to learn the guitar back and forth over the years and picked it up again this year but was thinking that it was probably the fact I just couldn't get my hand to do the C chord that made me not pursue it further - time and again! And now, having watched this video (not even all of it!), suddenly I can do the C chord! Brilliant tips, thank you so much! (Index will slightly touch high E) I had to learnt to adjust my strum angle to miss the big string. It can be done. Also recommend playing the G chord with middle, ring and pinky fingers, when learning. It make the G-C switch much easier.

Thanks for the refresher. I had to take a year off after shoulder surgery, and I had just played a few chords prior. The 1-2-3 or 3-2-1 placement will be helpful. Back to practice!

LOS4WORLD when I first started learning how to play guitar my hands used to really hurt I would shake my hands for a few minutes but the one thing that really helped me was using the grip master fitness gear ball messenger that really made a difference in trying to play the cords
