I have REALLY thick calluses, especially the ring finger. You're right about pushing too hard. The callus will bleed into the other strings, open D chord for example. As soon as I lighten up my touch, it makes all the difference.
Nice Lesson, well timed. My G-shape is muffling the 5th string. I find this Very practical and applicable advice. Great Value$ at SongNotes thanks David
Just re-watched this. Just want to say, David's PDF's are incredibly helpful. Nobody else provides fingering, beat and notes all in one place. The annual subscription is a bargain!
To develop callouses, do NOT put moisturizer on the tips of your fingers. That will keep callouses from developing. You NEED callouses to play guitar. Figure out how to apply moisturizer without using your fingertips. Great video!
Another good tutorial. I have been working on cleaning up my sound. Biggest tip for me was getting close to the fret. Also, I know I press too hard, especially when just learning a new chord shape.
if u could teach me that would be great, tbh i bought a guitr but none of these videos online work n i dont wanna take classes bc i dont wanna waste my time and money. i dont know why when i play and press down i get little to no sound but everyone else acts like its normal. i cant get any sound bc im pressing on the string, even when my finger is on the fret i get no sound so either im a a dumbass or everyone is lying n i doubt that so yeah. this sucks, i suck

You read my mind, I was wondering on tips to avoid muting or not hearing clean sounds, thanks
Great Information for sure! Just what I needed. Thanks!
You've got a fine teaching skill.
Thanks.

Came back to watch.
Thanks again.
If my fingers were long enough I’d have the curl - problem is that I can’t come straight down on them as I would like - frustrating
thanks David. Nice lesson
Thanks!
First thing I am gonna watch playing guitar tomorrow :)

The calluses really do help but they really screw up my typing.😅
I have that problem i guess you can call it lazy finger syndrome
His looong fingers even have a headroom when he curls them.
I don't find none of these tutorials to avoid muting strings useful. They simply say don't touch it. How the fuck though??
lol 😅 i’ve only been playing an hour and i’m about to quit
@@visible7044😂 me right now.
This is idiotic
You are idiotic
Thanks!
