CQBR + Infinite Ammo = Highest damage output outside of Rocket Launcher. If evennhalf the shots hit a weak point, that thing can absolutely delete any enemy
There should be an option to switch between semi-auto and full-auto. Semi-auto for distance combat and full-auto for close-quarters. Though for me personally, I'd keep it at semi-auto regardless whether I'm close or at a distance. Primarily to conserve ammunition.
As someone who's been playing new game plus, it's insane how long it can take to find ammo for the rifle. Even if crafting ammunition were factored in, it could be easily burnt through in a single boss through.
The CQBR is great when it comes to damage output at a fast rate of fire. The draw back is that it uses Rifle Ammo, a resource that most of the time you’ll be crafting for yourself as it doesn’t always drop as an item from enemies. Though in my opinion it is more forgiving for people who can’t really hit their shots.
The AR is crazy, it's the highest dps weapons in the game. But it really only shines with cat ears other wise you'll never have ammo for it lol it was definitely the biggest surprise when it came to brand new weapons
I always went with the Stingray. But lately I've been trying to use the bolt action. One advantage not mentioned is how little space it takes up. The Stingray takes up a ton of storage space in comparison.
@spooderderg4077 The CQBR is incredible if you have unlimited ammo, otherwise it simply burns through too much ammo. I don't use any rifle but the bolt action anymore.
I think the biggest reason I always choose the stingray over the bolt is speed. Most enemies will die with a single shot so you will kill much faster, assuming your aim is good. Also not zooming out for bolt is good to kill enemies in quick succession without adjusting aim. Boss fights where each bullet counts bolt is king where as the majority of the game with swarms of enemies stingray will clear a room in seconds. AR is good with cat ears but it eats bullets so it’s not a viable weapon for your first couple of runs. For me Sting < Bolt < AR With cat ears Sting < AR < Bolt. All good guns overall but DPS is always key for me so Stingray wins imo.
@@crazydud3380Blud who’s gonna use their rifle for mobs? That’s a shotgun and sub machine gun job, rifles are for long distance snipes on annoying enemies and to kill bosses And like u both said the Bolt does it best
For me, from the knives to the rifles. It all comes down to your own choice. You can put the whoop'n on all these goons no matter your setup. Awesome video,
Cbqr ends up being stronger than stingray and faster as well so stingray is just inferior unless you’re really bad and just go full auto with it all the time. The only time you go full auto is on bosses with a big weak spot you can constantly hit. Regardless starter rifle is best per ammo and space efficiency and I will always go with it.
I wish you could fire the CQBR with the normal crosshair like every other gun, don’t like the idea of a scope on a automatic and iron sights just don’t feel to good in this game lol
For me the best option is stingray. Good mag, damage and pinpoint accuracy. Fire rate without compromising accuracy is great M1903 is overkill in 90% of the game, really good for boss battles and consume 50% of the inventory, (compared with the CQB and the stingray) my second option CQB is the last one, waste to much ammo, kicks like a mule, and the space in the inventory is the same (is good with cat ears)
The iron sights is good for close quarter combat though, especially the cabin or the rock throwing gigante section lol. You can aim for their heads without overzooming and wasting time to adjust while the ganado slaps your nuts.
I used the all three when they became available but only really maxed out the CQBR. Since it basically does the same thing as the stingray only better. Only problem I have with it is the penitration isn't as good as the bolt or stingray and i Youll have to be quick at the trigger to not spend extra ammo. But basically typewriter with infinite ammo.
Best rifle I think is either stingray or CQBR depending if ypu have cat ears on or not basically. Stingray is great when you want a rifle that doesn't take time between shots but you have only so much Ammo. CQBR is great when you have unlimited Ammo as you can tear things up especially the regeneraders. In fact you don't even need the bioscope sensor. I mean it's nice to have but just aiming at the center mass without it does the job. Honestly I would prefer that over the sweeper if it had infinite ammo like the sweeper meaning never needing to reload because it has better accuracy. And using the bioscope sensor at night or dark areas is very nice especially if you use type A as it gives an heat sensor look but still looking like it's at night since surrounding stuff is blue and not like green or pink.
CQBR is godly with unlimited ammo and becomes the best gun in the game. Without it though it burns through rifle ammunition too quickly so you probably are going to just use the initial 20 rounds it has in the chamber already and then store it or sell it. A criteria I think you should've discussed too is inventory space. The bolt action is much smaller than the Stingray, so if you're running a stuffed inventory with a lot of other guns the bolt action's smaller size can make the difference between carrying enough ammunition for every weapon or one (or more) having too little.
Yea the one thing you forgot to mention is ammo availability, most people and most playthroughs aren’t gonna get the AR until the castle then it can drain ammo and especially on professional mode it doesn’t one shot enemies in the head until it’s power is fully upgraded, for the most part. Even on new game plus runs if you don’t have infinite ammo, rifle ammo is scarce.. that being said I prefer to run the AR because of the reasons you stated and it can still be used as a typical long range weapon, it’s fairly easy to shoot one shot. And I like to run with it because I love ARs in real life and own one so I just gotta keep the respect w it lol
I want to like the AR but without infinite ammo, it's almost unjustifiable to use. On top of the full-auto fire mode on default, I want there to be an option to use either full-auto or semi-auto. Personally I'd keep it on semi-auto mostly to conserve ammo which is in line with a realistic kind of gameplay.
CQBR is by far the best rifle just takes displine. It does 5.6 on crit and does 16.8 on crit making it hit as hard a shot gun but with zero spread and great range. Factor in the dps and you can melt everything in the game. Just be calm and control the triger.
I'd go with the Stingray because that's what I used in the OG but the Bolt rifle is insane. The CQBR is a meme weapon without Cat Ears and probably wont be used on NG playthroughs.
I use the stingray now but my aim has improved and now I just want something that can kill bosses and one shot things The bolt action does it better than the stingray, so I know what I’m doing (Stingray however does do better for regenerators)
M1903 must buy as soon as the shop sells it, upgrade power, rof, and capacity about 3 times and it will act as a magnum and carry you nicely until mid game. Then one should upgrade to the Stingray to permanently keep and max it out until end of the game. The CQBR is not really usable in a normal playthrough, you really need the cat ears for it and at that point who cares which one is better? All weapons are God tier with cat ears. I'd rank Stingray in 1st place, M1903 2nd, CQBR participation award.
I think M1903 is for first play through , it's ammo can be used in order to save/hoard up magnum rounds to prepare for Big boss. That's what I did for OG.
CQBR is actually the best rifle in the game and one of the best weapons in the game. But you have to understand the weapon first, otherwise you will call it gimmick, meme, ammohungry etc. Understanding the weapon is the hard part. Even the game tries really hard to misguide you how to use the weapon. For example it’s called close quarter battle rifle. You can’t use it as a CQBR. You have to use it like a single shot sniper rifle. You have to train your finger. And use it like you use stringray. It has more damage per bullet than stringray. Not just dps. So people calling it impractical or ammo inefficient is really just bad at math or haven’t figured how to single shot a fully automatic weapon. You can and really really should use one bullet on normal enemies head. It is just flat out better than stringray in every situation imaginable. And the problem with M 1903 is overkill damage. One shot with other rifles will also kill regular enemies. So the double damage per shot is not really helping and the slow rate of fire is really hurting. And against bosses you can afford to use 5-10 extra bullets to end the fight fast before taking unnecessary damage.
@Xavier Martinez everything the stingray has to offer the AR can do it better. Damage, ROF, times 3 on weak points, ammo capacity, and reload speed are identical. I think they should change weakpoints to times 2.
I use the bolt over either of them.. its dirt cheap to fully upgrade. At max reload speed, the bolt isnt a problem. Its 3x against the weak point, so I use it over the knife attack. Plus I like to start upgrading my final weapons as soon as possible. By like what? Chapter 4 I think? I can have my red9, riot gun, bolt action. And maybe tmp if I'm feeling saucy
@@juanmelendez3144 the AR is too much of an ammo expense for me and it is not reliable from far distances which is where you are gonna be shooting from a lot of the time, but I play on console maybe it is easier to aim on PC. My thoughts exactly! Bolt best for bosses, otherwise Stingray. With enemy swarms, the bolt's power is not enough to compensate for the slow fire rate.

Bolt action: damage all the way.
Stingray: very little recoil + decent fire rate.
CQBR: a lot of recoil + fast fire rate.
