In the original RE4, the First Shotgun you get (W-870) had a nifty little secret if you maxed it out which made it the most Overpowered shotgun in the game. You see, all of the shotguns have a spread-shot to them, and likewise the overall possible damage was divided per pellet, making it so up close enemies taking multiple pellets recieved more damage, but further away enemies taking only 1 or 2 pellets took far less damage. However, when you fully upgraded the W-870 in the original RE4, it made it so that the maximum damage the gun could do applied to every single pellet! That's right, if 1 pellet from the your shot hit an enemy at long range, it would've been as if they had taken all of them up close and in your face! People who sold that gun early in favor of getting another one completely missed out on one of the most overpowered weapons in the game. I was hoping that little secret would've transferred over to the remake, but it doesn't look like it.
Very true, however... on NG you generally couldn't upgrade any weapon to max because everything had a use in specific situations so you had to spread out your upgrades ... Red9 mostly, then only power for shotgun, only power for the rifle, only power on the magnum. Talking strictly about combat performance, the Riot Gun performs the best out of all shotguns in the game, not only due to its tighter spread pattern that in practice works best for the role you want to use it for, but it actually has a hidden ability which makes it so you can aim it faster compared to both the standard Shotgun and the Striker (Wii version motion control aiming notwithstading). The Striker has even more firepower than the Riot Gun, but it's got the worst spread out of all three Shotguns, but it more than makes up for it with its reduced space and increased ammo capacity, making it the most reliable 'get off me' tool you can get in the whole game, and this isn't even factoring in the Ditman glitch.
Using the Skull Shaker for my first playthrough, I don't usually use shotguns but for special occasions. So, having the extra storage space is definitely a huge boon to the gun. Missing out on a couple of points of damnage is pretty negligible for when it's needed.
The Skull Shaker was great in the 1st half of the game. Just enough capacity and damage to get by until the case expansions are bought. After that, capacity really is king in the castle area.

The Riot Gun in my opinion is the better shotgun of the bunch. It has the best precision of any shotgun in the game, meaning you don’t need to be up close to deal with enemies. Another perk to it is that it deals the second highest amount of damage for any shotgun in the game. At base damage and max stat, it deals out 12.8x but the perk it has the damage multiplier x1.5 makes it deal out around 19.5 damage. To put this into perspective, the Striker deals out 16.2 damage at max stats and doesn’t have a damage multiplier perk. The W-870 base highest damage output is 10.1 but its perk increases that to around 20. The Riot Gun has the best precision and it’s not a pump action, as in you don’t need to eject and load in another round of buck shot with each shot you make. Yes the striker has the highest ammo capacity so if you save up your shells, you can just unload 48 shells into a boss. The drawback here is that you need to save up your shells so have fun using this gun without infinite ammo on. The ammo capacity perk for the Striker in my opinion is really nothing special, you still really need to be up close if you want to make the most out of its damage output and aside from that the other two shotguns apart from the Riot Gun have either poor damage or just are not as fast as the Riot Gun. Bottom line, in terms of stats and personal preference, the Riot Gun for me is the way to go.
Its tough, I like the striker/skull shaker as my room clearing gun, because the wide spread catches everyone in front of me. But the riot gun has a tight spread and better range for bosses. That's the trade off imo.
My tier list if not using infinite ammo is 4)Striker - With limited Ammo, the wide spread can be a bit detrimental, and you want more damage 3)W780 - Really high power. Not much else to be said 2) Skull Shaker - About the same power as the w780, but takes up less space. 1) Riot Gun - The tight spray helps to ensure more pellets hit the target and thus less potential damage is wasted
W780 is the highest damage shotgun Riot do more damage because it has good focus and accuracy Striker has low power but can carry lot ammo and has rapid fire
The riot gun kills plagas with one shot even at base specs, extremely useful with the worm looking ones that eat your head. The skull shaker never tried it because I didn’t pay for it. The one that’s in the village I always sold it as soon as I could.
Also the skull shaker is good for conserving space since it takes up significantly less space than all the shotguns. With that said I still stand by my riot I love it
Benelli M3 (Riot gun) is my favorite just because it's powerful, accurate and semi-auto. (Remington) 870 is a close second, I love it's damage but I find that the M3 gets me out of more sticky situations than the pump action because of its rate of fire. Skull Shaker (Winchester 1887) is iconic but the flip reload is actually really dangerous irl, but what do you expect from over the top Leon? It's not as good as the first two shotguns in certain categories but it wins in terms of taking up the least amount of space for sure and a good all around option. Armsel striker is by far the best for capacity but it's my least favorite because I never need that much capacity in this game. Riot gun loads 6 shells at a time when maxed out, that's plenty for me. I've heard of twin and quad loads but six? I wish they would've given Leon a syringe loader when reload speed is maxed out and have Leon load the tube Jerry Miculek style. That would've been badass.
870 has always been my favorite in 4! Used it on my first playthrough on hard and it just puts everyone done with a single shot. But skull shaker being so similar plus the cool animation might take 1st for me!
I think the only reason to use the Skull Shaker is because of the cool animation and the fact that it takes up very little space in your inventory. My personal go-to is the Riot Gun.
My favorite too is also the skull shaker. Only 2 problems are that you gotta get close to 1 shot enemies and it’s kind of a bad weapon to start off with if you’re doing a fresh play through especially on professional due to its low ammo capacity. But it becomes better as you upgrade and I really like how little space it takes up in your inventory.
For a new game run or first run it’s the Riot Shotgun. But for new game with Cat Ears or NG+ it’s the Striker for me. Striker readies up so quickly and gets enemies out of the way. It also has amazing Rate of Fire and huge ammo capacity which is big.
Skullshaker was actually in the original resi 3 and Jill reloaded it the same way. Capcom just giving back a little of what they took away in the resi 3 remake.
In my case it is definitely a riot shotgun, better damage than the first one from the village and much better accuracy than striker (which is basically only great at short distance) Riot shotgun, definitely the best solution for short to mid range situations.
I really enjoyed the damage and the range of the Riot Gun, but there's one thing in particular which drives me nuts, and it's the fact that Leon ALWAYS racks the slide no matter if it was already loaded. So he just always "ejects" 1 round (i mean he would've if it was real life) unless the gun was empty beforehand. What is really weird for me is why this happens in the first place considering that the devs figured it out perfectly for the W-870, Leon only pumps it only if it was empty before loading, if it has some ammo already, he only puts in the ammo and the animation stops. What stopped the developers from doing the same for the Riot Gun if they already did it for W-870? I don't get it. Yes it's not gameplay related, but i just can't stop paying attention to it. I'm also pretty annoyed at the fact that the deluxe weapons are locked behind a paywall. They are both really nice additions to the game and it's a shame to rob people who can't afford deluxe of them. If they were part of the base game they could've been fitted more properly into the progression, rather than just being there.
How come the handguns can have full mag +1 bullet chambered but the other weapons that have mags can't. I find that really strange. It's like a half implemented mechanic lol
@@iviesdomain6434 the inconsistent implementation of realistic firearm features is a thing i noticed in RE8 as well, like they'd have Ethan do a quick mag swap using a proper method that could be done IRL, but then he still proceeds to rack the slide needlessly. Or when Chris would move an assault rifle quickly to the right with the intention of quickly ejecting the mag with inertia, but the mag doesn't fall out and he proceeds to remove it by hand, he does it every time you press R!... It's like they picked up some cool things they saw in a modern action movie, but still didn't do a 15 minute research to find out what all that stuff actually does and how a gun actually operates. Hell, in RE4 Leon even does some ambient animations where he rechecks whether the gun has a round chambered, just as a habit of precaution. There's a cutscene where a pistol gets jammed and Leon does the correct technique of clearing the jam. I just don't get how can there be so many correct details but still some little fuck ups like this. It wouldn't be half as jarring if the game just didn't have any gun realism whatsoever like old RE games. But since it does, you can't help but question it. Oh well, maybe they'll finally figure it out in the next game or two, lol.
Great video dude. I'm glad you pointed out the awesome "flip" animation with the Skullshaker, I see a lot of people sleeping on that haha. I agree that all the shotguns seem viable. Unlike OG RE4 where there was a fairly clear winner in every gun category, this game seems to be a bit more balanced in the stats department, meaning you have to base your decision on other factors. Unfortunately that means some of my favorite guns got nerfed to hell (looking at you, TMP and Blacktail), but it is interesting having to re-evaluate everything I thought I knew about RE4 guns. Most of the chatter I hear is people preferring the Riot Gun over the Striker now, but I suspect that's mostly because people are pissed that you don't get the free ammo for upgrading the capacity anymore. Any way you slice it, getting 100 free rounds for upgrading the Striker in the OG was just massive. It would basically last you the rest of the game. For my money, in the remake, I think I still prefer the Striker though. It just suits how I tend to use shotguns in my playstyle. The Riot Gun is still great, don't get me wrong, but I dislike how much space it takes up in the inventory now (more than it used to). The Striker is smaller and has a better spread, which is more important to me with shotguns. I don't care about the range or accuracy because I use my shotguns for crowd control. If I need range or accuracy, I'm not using a shotgun in the first place, I'm using a pistol or rifle. So for me, it comes down to the Striker or Skullshaker. Haven't really made a decision between them yet, but Skullshaker has an early lead, I think. You can't just beat the space savings, plus the dope animation and having it available right away. It would feel weird to do an entire playthrough and never change my shotgun, but, hey, new game, new rules.
The W870 is definitely the best simply because it's the most well rounded, but the Skull Shaker is my favorite because it saves so much space. It's basically a mini W870, the only real problem is that it's really bad until you upgrade the ammo capacity.
Haven't tried the base Shotgun yet but with maxed out riotgun, I one cycled salazar on hardcore on my first playthrough. The tight spread makes it VERY effective against weak points to where it rivals even the magnums.
I like the W870 myself, I'm the type to be really ammo conscious, so I always try to go with best damage per shot, rather than per second. Same with the Rifle and the Magnums. With Pistols I prefer the Blacktail since it's great at everything rather than being fantastic in one thing while being only okay at everything else, like the Red 9.
The striker was awesome in OG because your ammo was refilled when you upgraded the capacity, so you got a TON of ammo for pumping money into it. In the remake I would be surprised if I ever managed to fill it up without cat ears for the infinite ammo.
@@notjohn100 striker is underrated. It holds 48 rounds and has the highest AoE and DPS.Its capacity not only allows you to save up space in your inventory it also seems to have some secret buff that increases drop rate of shotgun shells. He said he wouldnt be able to fill it up without cat ears.Wrong.As long as your spare shotgun ammo is "0" the shells will almost instantly drop. Striker is still awesome. You just need some exclusive upgrade for it to make it really shine.
@@DetrasDeTiImbecil I never thought about how the fact you constantly have no in inventory shotgun rounds would cause more to spawn, that with it's size is actually pretty rad
@@notjohn100 I was also very sceptical about it when I read it on reddit.Checked it myself and it really works. It doesnt seem to work as well with other shotguns though.Even when I have about 40-45 shells (sometimes even 48) and then I break a box or barrel there is like 50% chance I'll get some shotgun ammo.Seems unbelievable, I know, but it actually works.Dont know how , but it works. Basically you have yourself an infinite ammo shotgun without cat ears 😃 Edit: damn I said "works" way too much...
My favorite shotgun in the RE 4 remake is the skull shaker. It's lightweight, fires fairly fast, reloads fast, and it takes up very little space. But all the shotguns in the RE 4 remake are great. There is no wrong shotgun to choose, whichever shotgun you use will pretty much get the job done
ive filled the striker easily on pro, keep loading it and the game thinks you dont have any ammo for it wont be long before its full. however it isnt really worth the money. Striker with just firepower upgrades is still amazing
@@xarachne8473 Ain’t that the truth. Despite the damage technically being higher than the riot gun, the spread is so fricking wide, that unless you’re literally point blank, most pellets aren’t going to even hit the enemy. I fired like 9 shots into a brute and it didn’t fricking die. I was on normal by the way.
Riot gun is by far and away the best shotgun. It's dps is ridiculous not to mention it does 19.4 compared to the 20.2 of W870, but then factor in the fact the riot gun has max damage at nearly double the range and it's no contest. Only gun superior to the riot gun is the killer 7 which is by far the best gun in the whole game.
striker used to be my favorite in the original game since there's a bug that if you upgrade the ammo capacity, your magazine also gets refilled for free and the old version had a huge mag capacity compared to the remake. you could get over a hundred free shells if every time you upgrade the capacity, your mag is empty but now the bug doesn't work so i'm just sticking with the default shotgun in the remake since it's the fastest and cheapest to upgrade.
I watched this, then the handgun video. The one I used in my first playthroughs was the riot gun whilst in the og I used the striker. I would love to see you make more videos about rhis game and ( I really want more categorized weapon comparisons like this video) You seem like you're enjoying the game and I very much am and probably more than the og even though I grew up playing the og
I was disappointed that the Striker went from a 100 round capacity all the way down to 48 but I found that shotgun ammo doesn’t really spawn a lot. Even with crafting I found it difficult to max out its capacity. The original on the other hand it seemed fairly easy to stock up on ammo.
Been using the W870 for two playthroughs. Only really use it at point blank or at mid range to hit a mob. It does so much damage. Takes out the entire mob except ganado in the back. Put a tiny bit of distance between you and a mob and it’s devastating. Don’t really use it otherwise at mid range. At that point I pull out a smg or a pistol. I’ve heard the striker is really good on the island
I’ve never played the original game but I really want too, over all I think all the shotguns are pretty balanced, but those prices to upgrade be having me broke🤣
I mean, probably the Riot Gun, although it really depends on how you use your shotgun, are you holding onto it for tough enemies, or using it do deal with swarms. If you are dealing with swarms, probably the W, if for tough enemies, then the riot gun. Striker is more of a NG+ weapon so that you have the shotgun ammo necessary to utilize its advantage. Skullshaker is probably only best for non-merchant NG plays to conserve inventory.
Yeah I am in the process of of rebuying weapons I sold during my 1st playthrough. I would say the skullshaker is basically the striker only smaller. It has basically the same spread. It does fire faster. But it's so much fun. And once you get used to the extra space in inventory it shard to switch back to anything else. The riot guns focus cone definitely helps with range , but like red 9 and even blacktail it feels nerfed from the original game. Striker as well even the spread just doesn't feel as wide. I hate aiming in this game . I know it's more "realistic" but Ina. Game you can suplex in. Come on. I'm going the rebuy and try out the original shotty next and see how I like it it seems to be the most balanced between the riot guns sniper like distance and skull strikers spread.
I say the striker primarily because if you fully upgrade the ammo quantity it goes up to FORTY TWO shells in a chamber. Ammo is scarce, so is resource and gun powder. But most importantly space is needed. If you don’t have the cat ears I say get this gun and max it out as it’s high ammo quantity and compact design is a must
Mechanics wise, the Riot Gun is arguably the most accurate to real-life shotguns. It works well in moderate to long-ranges due to its precision. I can attest, I tried it with my grandpa who was 35 yards away.
I’m going with the riot gun. I loved the striker in the og, but in this one, you have to literally be as close as possible to the enemy to get max damage, and I found that the riot gun kills things faster at close range.
Two best would be Ada's sawed off W-870 (way better than OG Separate Ways) or the Riot Gun which despite it's great distance shooting lacks the width/spread of the prior. Striker has great width but once again lacks the distance & power of the sawed off W-870.
I’d say it depends on whether or not you have infinite ammo. I don’t have the striker but it looks like you’d blow through ammo with that, just like an smg
Honestly, its going to come down to the Riot gun and the Striker, you can't go wrong with either. Riot gun is just a straight up upgrade from the W-870 in every way. The skull shaker is nice but it really only shines in the reload speed dept. Outside of that it's just beat by W-870 and Riot gun in terms of power, ammo capacity, and precision.
The striker's biggest strength is also its biggest weakness. That much ammo depleting that fast is usually bad. With infinite ammo on then yeah, its by far the best. Otherwise i gotta go with the riot gun because of its amazing range, insane dmg and good fire rate, such a versatile powerhouse.
"If this guy takes any more abuse, he's going to have to go on the lifetime channel." 😂 Anyway, the Riot shotgun is my favorite because it looks cool and has better range while also being semi-automatic.
The Riot Gun is the best overall. Even by some speed runners and so on. It deals high damage, has high accuracy and has the longest right (and still is accurate). It’s the most versatile shotgun in the game.
Stryker and it ain’t even close unless the Hydra from 5 becomes available. Skullcrusher should just be called “Gnasher” hopefully somebody makes a Marcus Fenix mod for Leon.
Anybody have the doom music playing in their heads when they do a shotgun only playthrough, i always have Eternals soundtrack playing in the back ground just because how significant the shotgun was in that franchise
best is the riot shotgun, worst is the stryker, no arguing possible. with cat ears or on lower difficulties, there's no point comparing, it just come down to personal preference because you'll just steamroll the game no matter what.
I think imo Striker is the best It has the widest spread at the cost of range, the highest damage, and it saves up a bit of inventory space by storing all your shotgun shells in the chamber when you max it out Second best would probably be the riot gun to make up for that range I have found tho early game on a new game run it’s somewhat beneficial to run both the skullshaker and default shotgun and it especially helps for dealing with Salvador as if you run out of ammo in the chamber you can quickly swap over and fire an extra couple of shots before needing to reload But yaknow the skullshaker is a deluxe item and something you can’t use for unlockables so keep that in mind
Riot Gun has always been my favorite, I just appreciate that it has the least spread. Striker is my least favorite for the opposite reason, too much spread makes it feel awkward to aim for me.
i played with all shotguns . best of the best is skull shaker .what makes it worst is its capacity .if u can deal with it then go for it . it gives free stun for every enemy ,and has almost maximum damage ,slightly less than riot but free stun makes it better . only it has less capacity of ammo. but u can manage it upon situation , obviously u would have other shotgun as well along with skull shaker . so for precise and compact aimed on enemies skull shaker is best along with rushed enemies better have striker .moreover both guns striker and skull shaker takes same place of inventory as shotgun w870 and riot . but if u have w870 or riot ,then no need to waste inventory for 2 types of shot guns.
Well with Cat ears i would say the striker but on a normal non new game plus run I choose the skullshaker. It dont take much space and power is also very ok
Striker for crowd control is the best. no point to use shotgun to kill enemies when you have killer7 (cat ear) But for the first time game experiences, riot is better
The tighter spread means you get the full and consistent damage, plus better firing and reload speed. So the damage per second and per shot will always be better, as well as the bigger capacity. Whereas the 870, (don't get me wrong, it's satisfying and better looking) the damage is inconsistent unless you're much closer which can compromise you, the rate of fire and reload is slower, there is damage drop off as not all pellets will hit, and a lower capacity. But they're both great guns, each to their own playstyle and approach!
I'll save you 10min: Riot Gun. It's tight spread makes it FAR superior to the rest. Striker is god awful. The 870 spread is a tad too much. Skull Shaker spread is INSANE but great for crowd control. Riot Gun mows down bosses the fastest
the only problem with the skull shaker is its damage scaling doesnt keep up with late game, i just got out of a standard on by the last 4 chapters i had to put two rounds into people to kill them, the health bar mod shows that they have like 10 health after the first shot, The riot gun shoots super fast and hits really hard. my playstyle is low ammo max dps.
The striker is the best. Why, because using the shotgun up close is the only time i use it, so the spread dont matter and i can fire as many shots as i need without reloding
I think the most important part about later enemies is being able to hit the crit spots as that will give you a lot more chance to down the enemies to get them stun locked. The ganados were always the same to me not unless they had the shield or armor but it wouldn't slow me for long.
In RE4 remake, the striker shotgun High capacity perk is basically useless. You get like 50 shotgun bullets for the whole game. At least in the original game you had the high capacity and the bullets included.

My tier list if not using infinite ammo is
4)Striker - With limited Ammo, the wide spread can be a bit detrimental, and you want more damage
3)W780 - Really high power. Not much else to be said
2) Skull Shaker - About the same power as the w780, but takes up less space.
1) Riot Gun - The tight spray helps to ensure more pellets hit the target and thus less potential damage is wasted
W780 is the highest damage shotgun
Riot do more damage because it has good focus and accuracy
Striker has low power but can carry lot ammo and has rapid fire
Not to be an asshole but I’m pretty sure it’s W870
@@vincentsgames9876 *shrugs* You still knew what I meant, so does it really matter?
Love how you use the weapons' real-life counterpart names.
870 has always been my favorite in 4! Used it on my first playthrough on hard and it just puts everyone done with a single shot. But skull shaker being so similar plus the cool animation might take 1st for me!
the skull shaker is definitely a nod to terminator 2 motorcycle chase scene... badass!
I think the only reason to use the Skull Shaker is because of the cool animation and the fact that it takes up very little space in your inventory. My personal go-to is the Riot Gun.
The animation is off Terminator 2. Doesn't get any better
Riot Gun for me. I love the tight spread on it
Very nice video! Straight to the point and gave good insights about each gun
For a new game run or first run it’s the Riot Shotgun. But for new game with Cat Ears or NG+ it’s the Striker for me. Striker readies up so quickly and gets enemies out of the way. It also has amazing Rate of Fire and huge ammo capacity which is big.
Thanks for breaking this down! Really opened my eyes to different use cases.
W870 first shotgun, can upgrade a lot earlier. The exclusive gives it the highest damage. also the pump action makes you feel like a badass
Skull Shaker: "So anyway I started blastin"
Riot gun for me. Perfect blend between rate of fire, power, and range.
Riot gun for sure. Tight spread, high power, fast firing rate and decent capacity
The striker was awesome in OG because your ammo was refilled when you upgraded the capacity, so you got a TON of ammo for pumping money into it. In the remake I would be surprised if I ever managed to fill it up without cat ears for the infinite ammo.
"If you're nothing without free 100 shells and ditman, then you shouldnt have it"
@@DetrasDeTiImbecil the guy just said thats why it was awesome, never that he needed it.
Basically you have yourself an infinite ammo shotgun without cat ears 😃
Edit: damn I said "works" way too much...
I have the Skull Shaker but haven't beaten professional yet, working on it.Thanks for the video The W870 surprised me.
That's called flip cocking with the skull shaker, it's really cool and tgat means you can actually one hand it irl
Unless you're using cheat items or you're on low difficulties, you won't ever have enough ammo to fill the Striker. This potentially saves case space.
Unfortunately the striker does about as much damage as a water gun
They did the striker dirty
ive filled the striker easily on pro, keep loading it and the game thinks you dont have any ammo for it wont be long before its full. however it isnt really worth the money.
I like the riot gun a lot purely for its range and damage
Didn't know Steve Brule did video game commentary. Sweet
1:52 Poor old guy. doing a hard days work. puts his bucket down and goes "oh hello there, youngster. how can I help y-..."
erza: BAM
😂
If you don’t have the cat ears I say get this gun and max it out as it’s high ammo quantity and compact design is a must
It’s actually “48” shells in a chamber, instead of 42, so even better! Less inventory space by far.
6:12 These villagers got combos now? Hit you with that wombo combo!
They got tired of my shit.
Mechanics wise, the Riot Gun is arguably the most accurate to real-life shotguns. It works well in moderate to long-ranges due to its precision. I can attest, I tried it with my grandpa who was 35 yards away.
I’m going with the riot gun. I loved the striker in the og, but in this one, you have to literally be as close as possible to the enemy to get max damage, and I found that the riot gun kills things faster at close range.
the riot gun kills things fast at any range. You see something, bam, it's dead.
Two best would be Ada's sawed off W-870 (way better than OG Separate Ways) or the Riot Gun which despite it's great distance shooting lacks the width/spread of the prior. Striker has great width but once again lacks the distance & power of the sawed off W-870.
Most community think riot is best and i agree but i was suprised how many ppl say skull crusher is bad its not really but they shot from half room😂
I usually always go with the 8-70 or the Riot Gun
For the Pro run, I always use the Riot gun. The Striker is not bad, but its damage is too weak. For the standard, hardcore run I use the W-870
Binge watching your videos like crazy ! Thank you undercover Gamingdunkey
Skull shaker is the best value weapon. 870 is my second place. Nothing beats the five finger discount.
Since I only use shotgun to stun or crowd control skull shaker easily does both and takes up the least space
best is the riot shotgun, worst is the stryker, no arguing possible. with cat ears or on lower difficulties, there's no point comparing, it just come down to personal preference because you'll just steamroll the game no matter what.
I think imo
Striker is the best
It has the widest spread at the cost of range, the highest damage, and it saves up a bit of inventory space by storing all your shotgun shells in the chamber when you max it out
Second best would probably be the riot gun to make up for that range
I have found tho early game on a new game run it’s somewhat beneficial to run both the skullshaker and default shotgun and it especially helps for dealing with Salvador as if you run out of ammo in the chamber you can quickly swap over and fire an extra couple of shots before needing to reload
But yaknow the skullshaker is a deluxe item and something you can’t use for unlockables so keep that in mind
It's (SS) not counted as a bonus weapon that prevents unlocks, afaik
Riot Gun has always been my favorite, I just appreciate that it has the least spread. Striker is my least favorite for the opposite reason, too much spread makes it feel awkward to aim for me.
i played with all shotguns .
best of the best is skull shaker .what makes it worst is its capacity .if u can deal with it then go for it .
it gives free stun for every enemy ,and has almost maximum damage ,slightly less than riot but free stun makes it better .
only it has less capacity of ammo. but u can manage it upon situation , obviously u would have other shotgun as well along with skull shaker .
so for precise and compact aimed on enemies skull shaker is best along with rushed enemies better have striker .moreover both guns striker and skull shaker takes same place of inventory as shotgun w870
and riot .
but if u have w870 or riot ,then no need to waste inventory for 2 types of shot guns.
Well with Cat ears i would say the striker but on a normal non new game plus run I choose the skullshaker. It dont take much space and power is also very ok
W870 hands down strongest and most reliable for close encounters
I highly recommend Riot Gun! Fully upgraded and thank me later.
Skull shaker has high stun possibility and barely takes up space
Dude great review!
W-8 for power
Riot for range
Striker for crowd control
Skull for style points
I for one prefer tge riot because of it looks and rate of fire.
The riot shotgun is the one I found using the most
I wiped the floor with Crouser in my first playthrough with the striker.
I prefer the RIOT because of its looks and how it feels. The SS is cool but the ammo capacity blows.
Enjoyed the video thanks for it
Glad to hear it!
Riot is the best. Skull shaker is for tight inventory and style points. Not a big fan of the other 2.
Striker for completing first playthrough is just to good but skullshaker is the coolest for fun
I would say the riot gun is the best. It's got more of a punch when fully upgraded in power.
Striker for crowd control is the best.
no point to use shotgun to kill enemies when you have killer7 (cat ear)
But for the first time game experiences, riot is better
Dude telling us that having 1 point less damage on Riot Gun not as powerful as 870. Seriously 19.2 vs 20.2.
Hey it's close but like Borderlands taught me damage is everything.
@@erzatitaniawins bro, don't worry, nothing against you, just pointing something that is little bit of.
Riot my ❤
We need the AA 12 shotgun
The striker is the best. Why, because using the shotgun up close is the only time i use it, so the spread dont matter and i can fire as many shots as i need without reloding
Why is Leon so twitchy when racking the pump on the W-870
well a shotgun is a shotgun it's only for crowd control you dont want to use it for kiting as thier ammo is scarce in game
I've never seen that merchant he went to at the beginning
Yeah he is only there on a new game plus.
Did you feel a noticeable difference for later enemies garradors the island ganados etc?
I think the most important part about later enemies is being able to hit the crit spots as that will give you a lot more chance to down the enemies to get them stun locked. The ganados were always the same to me not unless they had the shield or armor but it wouldn't slow me for long.
W870 fully upgraded and cat ears
i like the w870
In RE4 remake, the striker shotgun High capacity perk is basically useless. You get like 50 shotgun bullets for the whole game. At least in the original game you had the high capacity and the bullets included.
The riot gun is the best...hands down!
The riot gun. How is this even a question lol?
skullshaker have small capacity and its so good to get all weapons
They are all good except the Striker.
Yeah the striker is absolute ass
The best shotgun is the one you (anyone) use. Just like real life 👍🏻
Bottom line is none of the weapons in this game is nearly as powerful as the weapons in the original RE4.
