I've been all over, and Detroit's food scene is incredibly deep and diverse
As a Michigan resident (a suburb just north of Detroit), I have to thank you for portraying such a good picture of Detroit! It gets such a bad reputation, but there truly are some great spots and it's come a long way over the years. Glad you had such a great time! 🙌

i thank you guys so much for showing my city in such a positive light! i grew up in Detroit and went to high school (Cass Tech) literally about 5 minutes from downtown. it's 1 thing when locals speak up about how great Detroit is. but it means something different when visitors come to Detroit and can see the beauty that we see in our city. thanks again! you should come back and check out more food, and more stuff in general!

Awww my first time here on your channel, but glad you enjoyed my City. Cool and you are eating Buddys. This is their 77th year . Starting in July they were taking $7.70 off to commemorate ..I have to try the Dime Store. And definitely Love love love the Riverwalk. I go there alot...

If you come back try the original pancake house in birmingham MI it’s about 25 min away from downtown! Soooo good a classic for us ❤
I’ve traveled all over the country and I can’t find a breakfast spot that’s better than that place. Whenever we have visitors from out of town, we take them there and they are blown away by how good it is.

I live not far from Detroit and I’m glad you went to Buddys-my favorite pizza place. (I didn’t even know there is a location downtown!) But you missed something great-you have to go to the RenCen and go to the restaurant on the top floor-the ride up in the elevator has an amazing view-and you’re in a totally glassed in elevator and you feel like you could fall in the water. It’s definitely something to see if you ever come back. Glad you had a positive visit!!

I'm from The D and Buddy's is no joke. Making my mouth water!!!
The biggest difference is the crust when it comes to Detroit style pizza. Originally workers from automotive factories would discard metal pans and workers would take them instead of throwing them out. After being thoroughly cleaned pizza would be made in them. People found out the cheese would melt over crust and caramelize giving it a unique crispy chewy crust.

I think you should've gone to some of the places on the outskirts of Detroit. So many good soul food restaurants and BBQ places. They are rougher areas but the rougher looking the place, the better the food. Overall great video!

Great, BUT The Original Buddy's Pizza is at Dequindre & Conant in the neighborhood - not Downtown.
Detroit is a city full of foodies, we have so much more to see hopefully you both come back soon.
Highly underrated downtown. My hometown gets a bad rap too often. Lot of outsiders focus on the news feeds rather than actually coming here to see it for themselves. Not saying my city is perfect but one is mistaken if they don't think Detroit doesn't have many cool things to offer when one visits. Don't judge a book by its cover. Instead, read it for yourself

I live outside Detroit, but I work in the city every day. You guys did a decent job, but you kinda did a disservice to all the spots outside downtown. Some of the best food in Detroit is out in the rougher areas behind bulletproof glass. Smaller restaurants in the neighborhoods of the city AND inside gas stations get overlooked a lot whenever people review food spots in Detroit.
