- After the warm reception of our how to build a Dragon Ball villain, it's time to expand our thought experiemnt to that of another DBZ trope - minions! Let's discuss, analyse and create our own minions based on past minions such as the Red Ribbon Army, the Ginyu Force and even the Pride Troopers!

I would hella watch that. I assume it would be chronologically set before they were ever on Namek (that would really be the only way it makes sense).
Possibly showcasing a previous form of Ginyu's or his original body, and based off of his purple appearance looking like a mutated frieza race member (if we assume Cold and first form frieza are indicative of what their race generally looks like) then his purple body could be an abnormally strong frieza clan member (maybe even make that body the former body of a much weaker previously unknown brother of Frieza's who was a sub-commander that failed the Empire one too many times that was given to Ginyu).

A solid team you got there, MasakoX. I'm sure with proper writing and good chemistry, they'd definitely cement themselves in the hearts of fans everywhere. Although, I should avoid making concrete statements like that lest my credibility sink like a stone.

When I first thought about it, I kinda shrugged it off, then I started thinking more and more about it.
They would have shot him, gotten scared, than ran away or stole the dragon ball. Goku would give chase, and then the whole Pilaf arc would be about Goku (by himself) chasing down the Pilaf Gang to get back the 4 Star Dragon Ball.
Yeah, that would be the more likely scenario, but what I was thinking was more of the Pilaf Gang having to 'compromise' with Goku by allowing him to come with them because he won't let them take the dragon ball, and at this point they don't have the Pilaf Machines, and Goku is too strong for them so what other choice do they have than to take the freakish munchkin with them until they get Pilaf's wish granted?
Plus Goku traveling with the Pilaf Gang? Could you imagine the hi-jinks that could ensue?
Bitty Bears Pilaf and his gang would be the Z-Fighters with Goku lol and Goku bangs Mai so Gohan will still exist :p
Dragon Ball Super is really an oddball in this department. Every villain in DBZ had minions, but that wasn't the case for Beerus, Hit, Goku Black or Jiren.

The pride troopers don't feel like minions because they don't even interact with jiren, they just hyped him up when he was basicly just sitting doing nothing. Mediatating is not itimmidating, he could been sleeping it wouldnt of made a difference.

My boyfriend and I did something like this a while back where we created a squadron based around insects. It led to some pretty fun designs.
The leader was a stag beetle, second in command was a moth, the freaky powered one was a mosquito, the muscle was a mantis, and the speedy one was actually a Namekian, because slugs and irony, and then they had an army of low-tier bees and ants.

Imagine pargette picking on and degrading caulifla as they fight and she defeats caulifla. And as caulifla is trying to get up, pargette starts degrading her more. But Kale hears all of the things pargette says. And as a result she goes ssj berserk 2 and just wrecks her.
Really well thought out. I like the fact that the Warlord seems like a neutral evil kind of guy, a jerk but also doesn't want power getting out of hand just in case it is used on him.
It definitely a baddie not really seen that often in dragon ball.
I like the idea that you demonstrate that even Konkruit is weary of Ziment, but he is standing off not saying much of anything, then when one of those other troopers falls in battle he steps in front of the person who is about to fight next, stating "for once, this is a worthy foe" and shocks the rest of his team. Definitely a prolific shounen trope, but one that could be well used here, I think.

I love this concept so I'm by no means saying I have a "better" idea, but I ALSO have an idea; theming villains around stage performance.
Main Villain: Torrecdi (pun on "Director") who's looking to add one of the last remaining saiyans to his collection of "unique elements" in the universe. His curiosity was peeked during the fight in Future Trunks' timeline against Goku Black, as until then he believed saiyans were extinct in his timeline and only the half-breed Trunks remain.
2nd in command: Sertcas (pun on "Actress") who also happens to be Torrecdi's daughter and intends to use her father's collection to take over the multiverse rather than just see it rot in a pocket dimension.
Minions:
-Namstrong (pun on "Strongman") who is the silent muscle of the group. He is smarter than the others give him credit for though his constant silence leads the others to believe he is simple-minded.
-Emim (pun on "Mime") who is the twin sister of Namstrong and follows his silent character archetype, but fights using more magical means, particularly invisible objects she seems to conjure through her actions in a form of non-verbal magic.
-Resnad (pun on "Dancer") who is the "pretty one" in the group and uses an "elegant" style of combat, seeming to dance nonstop even as he takes hits, appearing to never truly be injured and merely incorporating the impacts into his performance, using the momentum of his opponent's attacks against them by focusing on rotation, elaborate dodging, and parrying. Though at first overwhelming, he ends up being taken down first when Vegeta loses his patience and starts attacking in a chaotic manner of which Resnad cannot work out the pattern and tempo.
-Rewollaws (pun on "(sword) swallower") who is the "weird" one and, akin to Yakkon, Buu, and androids 19 and 20, Rewollaws' fighting style largely relies on absorbing the energy and attacks of her opponents before retaliating using their own power against them. Her name pun becomes particularly blatant when she swallows Trunks' sword.
This is actually pretty clever and a very insightful 'tutorial' you're making her, Masako :>

These two build a baddie videos has gotten me excited to see what Dragon ball can come up with in the future
Ziment's physical appearance, based on his traits makes me think of the Undertaker in his prime. Just watch a match, where he dives from off the top rope into the enemy, who's outside the ring. The man can fly.
So Freezer kept all those Fruits and Vegetables preserved under his care until he decided he didn't like Vegetables any more? Deep.
I know this out of nowhere, but this has been bugging me for the past few days. When Gero basically stabs Yamcha through the chest with his hand, how does he manage to survive? The body would obviously go into shock. But that's not the big problem. The thing that confuses me is how he was able to swallow a senzu bean and have the ENTIRE hole in his chest be back to normal.
It throws me off because one: Just what properties of a senzu bean makes it so that people are healed entirely (fixes broken bones and grows back vital parts). Two: When does the effect itself takes place? Like does it work as soon as it goes down your throat? Because a good point would be that Goku could technically have survived the special beam cannon/mankankosappo (from the beginning of the series of Z) if they had a senzu bean right then and there. I mean, if it worked for Yamcha, then same should apply to Goku. (Of course, I know that the writing for Dragon Ball has a lot of inconsitencies, but still). I just think it would be an interesting topic that should be explored and I would love for this to be explained so that my mind would be at ease.
Benji Barrett Yamcha, being a Z fighter is far more durable then your average human, and senzu beans do require ingestion in order to work, but they are mystic items, boosting your body energy wize to if it had a “full days worth of eating.” That much material could boost healing some how. On the ingestion direction, a throat technically can digest some of what you eat, but in Yamcha’s case I’m pretty sure he was stabbed of center of his sternum, so her could still swallow.
Well, of course, I know he is obviously much stronger than an ordinary human. But just one question (not trying to be rude or anything). Could "full days worth of eating" fix bones or create new matter within one's body?

1st Lt. Breeck, the Undermining: "Wha-? Oh, well bless your heart Ziment. But why though?"

Konkruit: "This is ridiculous! I'll have you all be maggot-fodder before I take orders from the likes of you, Ziment!"
Breeck: "Dun worry, boss! I'll have the entire planet six feet under in a matter of seconds!"
General Styro, The Underhanded: "OH MY NINE GODS! HURRY UP AND KILL THIS PLANET!"

Styro: "... ... meanwhile, I shall find this infinite power and use it to amplify my own strength, and take over the entire universe... but first... To deal with the rodents beneath my feet... hm, hm, hm..."

Lord Zaidon, the Uncontrolled: "... ... ... Once I find the source of infinite energy, I shall destroy it. No one should have that power... It is only natural that those who stand in the way of nature are to be ripped apart by the storm..." *Sees the saiyans fighting back, and losing except for Cabba and co.* "Hmm... General. Prepare to summon D O Z A."
Okay, so this is what I’ve done with the minions and villain in this.
Lord Zaidan: A geomaster warlord who wants to do something involving Planet Sadala. (it would be reveled by in a later episode along with his backstory)
Konkruit: A warrior who serves Lord Zaidan with dignity and loyalty yet trains his soldiers intensely. His has the power to turn his arms into a shield and a sword.
Ziment: A speed demon powerhouse who isn’t really that bright. He might be offed early if Vegeta goes a bit nuts or maybe Hit.
Pargette: Lord Zaidans sister who has various light based powers and cannot be eliminated be Zaidan but would be offed early.
Breeck: A young rookie who would be offed early by training to impress Zaidan but is eliminated by him.
Styro: A traitorous wizard who turns good when he needs to and is the brains of the group.
Doza: A timid, young girl who turns into a raging ice-bug-demon thing. She would turn good.
edit: Zaidan would turn good as well
Not bad. I can honestly see those characters in a Dragonball mini arc, or a Movie. Good work Masakox. You have impressed me again.
All of the pride troopers are named after things found in a kitchen. Not just some of them.
Jiren -> Renji -> Range
Toppo -> Potto -> Pot
Dyspo -> Disposal
Kahseral -> Casserole
Cocotte -> Dutch Oven (French term for it)
Vuon -> Oven
Tupper -> Tupperware
Zoiray -> Reizou -> Reizouko -> Japanese word for Refridgerator
Kettol -> Kettle
Kunshi -> Shinku -> Sink
Here's an idea: Pargette would be Zaidan's daughter, having a similar dynamic to Ox-King and Chi-Chi in _Dragon Ball,_ where he would do anything in his power to keep her safe and happy.
Over the course of the arc, the heroes would seriously injure Pargette, thus causing Zaidan to descend onto the battlefield to exact his vengeance on the people who would dare hurt his little princess.
Then they finally reach the energy core, Styro gains the power and transforms, and begins his coup against Zaidan. His first victim: Daddy's little girl.

3:54 Masako I completely agree. I'm writing a book and my inspiration comes in strange places. A future villain I plan on writing, I thought of them right before I went to sleep and wasn't able to get to my computer. Luckly I remembered, so I agree writing not easy.

one of the huge issues with dragon ball now is that transforming is kinda over used. "oh you seem stronger than me, let me just power up even further, oh wait still not enough? okay even FUUUUUUUUUUUUURTHEEEEEEEEEER!!!!!!!, okay that still didnt do it, now for my 100% ultimate power!" it just seems pointless because if you get the crap kicked out of you then wouldn't your powered up state be weakened also? so i think just giving the main bad guy and maybe one other (like the betraying 2nd in command) would be quite fitting. although it depends on how cool doza would look and if his power would actually justify the power up. like maybe doza gets nearly killed but styro stabs a crystal made from the unlimited power source into doza nearly healing him 100% meaning he could use his transformation without the loss of power or bang for his buck. that would be very interesting because as far as the series is concerned, senzu beans are the only other method of instant healing besides a wish on the DB's. this would give us a cool transformation seeing as how he learned his base power isnt enough and his transformation would be justified. though i might just be crazy about that.

I like the idea of Vegeta, Gohan and them showing up to see Goku's hair sticking out of the concrete.
Check this out: there is a cold, inflexible material that's the backbone of heavy construction. It keeps the concrete, mortar, and cement in place and standing whether it wants to or not. Like them, but not of a kind with them. That ingredient is called "rebar". Give it Japanese-like pronunciation, "ribaru", then shuffle the syllables, and we get "Barui". It's doubly punny because "warui", as I understand it, means "evil" or "bad"... the perfect nickname troops might give an unpopular commander.

I really like your ideas for bad guys and minions!
I see your Warlock henchmen being some form of Shapeshifter's, keeps with the "magic" theme, maybe have them be a different element, Earth or concrete, Fire, ice etc

Please write an arc for this, it honestly has the potential to be better and more nostalgic than any if the super arcs!
With the sheer amount of powerful characters we are introduced to in Dragon Ball Super, you could make multiple spinoffs for every universe, including the erased universes. That is not even to mention how many Frieza Force history spinoffs you could make (plus King Cold).
I would've named them Durir (Drill), Hamar (Hammer), Scuru (Screw), Rencha (Wrench), and Broto (Bolt)
Durir would specialize in drilling beams akin to special beam cannon, Hamar would be the heavy physical fighter, Scuru would be the fast and cocky fighter, Rencha would be the girl who has an odd power to reassign the functions of your nerves if she gives you a kiss on your skin, and Broto would be the small weird one with the power to rip off and blow up his body parts as well as regenerate them.
Maybe your squad you made could be like the Ginyu Force, while this one is a lesser squadron. Or maybe they're a team owned by a movie villain that span off from your hypothetical arc.

This sounds like an awesome villain team
Yes, a villain that's on his/her own is impressive- however, the truly memorable ones have one minion, a group, a last line guardians of defense and specialized group under them that have unique personalities that bounce off the hero, the villain and each other with varied appearances/abilities as well.
Ginyu Force, any of the One Piece villain's main group of minions, Anten Seven, Gung-Ho Guns, etc.
They either act as the generals, a special group to deal with each specific hero or guardians. However, they all hopefully will bring forth something memorable for the hero they face.
Here’s an idea, the rookie could show its power by making a monster AFTER Doza by melding the ground around him to become massively powerful and his body could be like a muddy variant of Spider-Man’s Sandman. How he’s ultimately taken out could be a distructo disk cutting the rookie after the kamehameha fails to do anything but make a big mess.
