I don't know whether it is correct but according to my assumption If a positive charge is kept in an electric field of positive source charge it faces repulsion.its potential increases as it move towards the positive source charge and face high repulsion so it moves from high potential to low potential.if the source charge is negative positive charge moves towards negative source charge because of attraction.as we know potential towards the negative charge is negative (low potential).so positive charge moves from high potential to low potential
