I like San Pellegrino if I am dining. The smaller bubbles is just enough to clear the palate, but not belch. I like big, burpy bubbles if casually drinking a seltzer or eating a sandwich.
San Pellgrino has this perfect calcium flavor. Love it.

the glass bottle ones for sure, I bought a 1 liter plastic bottle one and it had barely any carbonation, wtf
I saw someone purchase that at Whole Foods. Everyone is raging about it in the comments. I will try it out.
I only buy sparkling water that's been carbonated by mermaids living in the Aquitaine region of France. I find it has the perfect balance of bubbles (just enough to refreshingly tingle the tongue but not enough for us to belch like sailors), mineral content, and just a dash of saltiness I'm told is from their own tears.
It's expensive, but my goodness it's worth it!
The secret to the carbonation and slight Sulphur taste is Mermaid farts.... thats how they do it..

I love Topo Chico! It doesn't go flat before I can finish it.
I left it uncapped in the fridge for like 3 days and it still had plenty of bubbles! It’s THE BEST!

I love Topo Chico because of the carbonation, I have left an open bottle out overnight and it’s still carbonated in the morning.
Why wasn’t Gerolsteiner included in this testing? It has the best flavor profile of natural mineral waters.
Have you tried Naleczowianka from Poland? I tried waters all across Europe, and this was my fave.

I live in Mexico and I drink Topo Chico everyday. It’s my favorite.
I had a sparkling water ADDICTION for years, it was so bad that I couldn’t tolerate still water. After months of effort I was able to break my habit, only to tune-in to ATK to see all of my previous bubbly drugs of choice on display. FML!!!
To be fair, there are exponentially worse things to be hooked on than water.
I too am addicted to sparkling water. I like my bubbles intense and that initial sip is like a serious high. I’ll wake up in the middle of the night and pop a can open for a sip, then go back to bed. It’s a real problem and I wish I could stop.

Hahahaha thats so funny, I think I'm addicted. I started them to quit Monster energy drinks and now I drink the sparkly water way more than still water.
I even make sure to look up that I wasn't replacing one possible cancer causing drink with another

I grew up in Germany where we have a multitude of sparkling waters, all from different springs. They are unflavored and all taste different. Over here I get Gerolsteiner when I can get it. The best! High in calcium. San Pellegrino is ok.
I just had a gerolsteiner for the second time recently, I swear I enjoy it more when the water is room temperature. I actually like San Pellegrino best after doing yard work and making it cold in the fridge.
I am going to have to try and track some Gerolsteiner down. I live in a small western colorado town so finding it might be a trek but I would love to have some.

San Pellegrino and Topo Chico are my favs. Interesting. I also like the PurAqua Belle Vie( Aldi brand) which are unbelievably cheap at about 25 cents usd each.
In the UK Lidl have a sparkling mineral water (Saskia) which is really good and it's only £1.49 for 6x2 litre bottles.
My husband and I drink the Aldi regularly. It’s pretty great and cheap.
So glad to hear Polar won. Ever since visiting Boston, it’s been a fave and now I’m able to get it in California. Win, win!
Topo Chico! Missed it when we moved to TN from TX. At last, it’s here now! The bubbles last!
I’ve found it in the ast few months at Kroger in Mississippi so maybe it’s up there somewhere.
My favorite was ALWAYS San Pellegrino, until I was introduced to Topo Chico. Now, I get it because it's less expensive and packs a punch! 💥

Why was Perrier excluded from the test ? You definitely Had the can sitting there on display. However comparing should be all bottles, or all cans. Cans change flavor of water.

@@jessicamarie8299 Only temporarily, since the water you drink stays in the body for a while. And the CO2 gas can make you feel bloated. But unless it has additives like sugar it doesn’t lead to weight gain.
@@MoreUngaMoreBunga Idk because I gained some weight and although the bloating went down I still have some bloating. I had to stop drinking them.
I'd love to see an ATK review of carbonation systems like soda stream and soda sense.
Drinkmate too, we love ours and by using filtered water you'd likely avoid Boston's finest tasting notes.

They did, and published the review less than a week ago. The top 3 machines are by SodaStream and the winning one is their Fizzi model.

Drinking lime flavored Perrier as I watch this. Meanwhile, I KNEW that lightly carbonated one was Pellegrino. Nice!!
It seems pretty silly if not lazy to compare seltzer water (only carbonation) with Sparkling water (added minerals for taste).
They are two separate products that have been around for centuries.
You could have easily found a dozen different brands of seltzer water AND sparkling water at a well-stocked grocery store or beverage outlet.
Topo Chico by far is the best tasting and most refreshing but I’ve never tried Polar.
I got hooked on Topo Chico a few years ago and now I use it where I used to use club soda or tonic as a mixer, especially with vodka or bourbon.

I would mix carbonated water with concentrated juice and you get fresh soda without the sugar.

I like the texture of smaller bubbles so my favorite is Badoit in the green (not red) bottle. San Pellegrino is pretty good too.
I have never seen Topo Chico at the stores here in CT but I want to try it! I love a sparkling water that is extra fizzy!

I agree! It's our sparkling water of choice and is very popular in Canada. So strange that it's on the counter but not in the test!
Salty Seltzer water always reminds me of beer with no hops. If that makes sense 🤦♀️
On occasion when we overeat and open a nice cold bottle of topo chico and the bubbles are so darn nice that even your next door neighbor hears your loud burb, only then do you appreciate how good Topo Chico is!

I did a taste test a few months ago with my wife. The Italian sparkling water from Costco was far better than San Pel.
Costco's Kirkland brand is my house favorite.. I refer to it as "Faux-le-grino"

Here in Chicagoland, a sparkling water from Poland- Naleczowianka is a runaway hit product carried in most grocery stores. The flavor profile is heavy, dry, and slightly salty. It beats any of these off-the-shelf brands I've tried, plus every water I tried on my trips to Europe.

I lived in Germany for 8 years, that's when my sparkling water love really took off! They have 3 levels of bubbles/fizziness. They are normally colour coded but 0= no fizz, plain H20, 1= low fizz, 2= mid range fizz and 3= all the fizz! I started on number 2, mid fizz, but I'm 100% a 3, full fizz/super bubbles for me please.

I spend summers in Germany , prior to the pandemic and I didn't know that .
Dave Arnold has a whole thing on making your own carbonated tap system. Super important to do a filtration step beforehand, since chlorine and sulfur are things you want to try and filter out. Once you do that you're good to go! Using boiled water is also a good solution for small batch people who are using a bottle carbonation rig rather than an in-line unit.
Finally someone that understands that mineral waters DO NOT taste all the same! Some are tarty, some have a sweet note, some are disgusting. I prefer san pellegrino bcs comes from my country. I like bubbles but not too much tht make your body inflate

As soon as they mentioned "eggy" I thought "sulfur." I grew up in an area where abandoned coal mines were draining sulfur and iron contaminated water into the creeks and rivers, and it smelled like rotting eggs.
Some of my family lives in an area that has sulfur water. It’s really unpleasant to drink. And it stains your bathroom fixtures also!
Luckily, I grew up where we had well water! It was delicious! When our family came to visit, they would bring empty bottles and fill them with our water to bring home!
San Pellegrino is very nice but I like carbonating my own filtered water. I use Soda Stream. It’s economical, more eco-friendly, & allows some adjusting for how bubbly it is. Nice segment!

In Turkey sparkling water is generally spring water, no extra carbonation, just as it left the ground. In turkish the name is “maden suyu” which translates literally to mine water/water that comes from the mines. There are many brands from around the country, but my favourite one is Beypazarı. If anyone sticks around, you might want to try it. There is also Kızılay which is worthwhile, they have two springs from Afyon and Erzincan, Afyon being my recommendation.
I really like Polar orange-vanilla seltzer water, but it's difficult to find.

I’m a total water snob but for bubble watering LOOOVE the generic Safeway & Albertsons brand cans…so crisp and refreshing
San Pellegrino is certainly my favourite of the one I have tried. I guess we have a rather different selection available in the UK. I am pretty sure that seltzers are not available at all.

I like the San Pellegrino flavored waters. Lemon, Blood Orange and Black Raspberry, Black Cherry Pomegranate. I've only seen these flavors at the Grocery Outlet

I drink perrier everyday, it's so refreshing and satisfying, Pellegrino seems like your drinking a flat soda water which is not what I want as I want carbonation when drinking a carbonated water lol have a great day everyone

I drank water for a tapped water well in Zankythos , it was mountain side “ laperda” i think the place was called. It definitely had a sulfur taste not bubbly
I like Ice Mountain and store brands, but I'm budget conscious.
I agree with Julia, and have been drinking Pellegrino over the past 2 decades. I enjoy the minerals and only buy it only in the large glass bottles.

I like Topo Chico (very strong flavor profile and lots of bubbles), but my all time favorite is Kiseljak, from Bosnia. We love Radenska from Slovenia in our family, but I like the harder stuff.

I am always so fascinated in other region's tap water. Supposedly New York has some world renowned stuff, and I've always drank tap here in Orange County, CA. Boston is bad though?
I only drink sparkling water and tried many and I found that Aldi brand lemon lime is the BEST and it cost 50 cents a bottle next is the original plain sparkling water is Lidal store brand at 55 cents a bottle ! Very good and effervescent!!
I normally buy San Pellegrino and prefer it.

I'll have to try Polar, but I really like Gerolsteiner. La Croix is my everyday drink. I like most of their flavors, but the Pure is especially nice at times.

Gerolsteiner all day. Balanced mineral taste and carbonation is strong lasting a long time.
San Pellegrino is a close second next to Perrier and only in glass bottles.
Some may not like the mineral taste but it’s better for your hydration. Plain purified water dilutes your body of its minerals and actually makes you more thirsty = consuming more.
I love san pelegrino de level of bublbles will dependent on how cold it is, if it’s not very cold you feel a lot of bubble chill it too much and you fill tiny bubble… as it’s supposed naturally carbonated although I bet they add some too… so the content of CO2 is not too high, when water gets cold it compresses de CO2 so you fill less bubble because the get smaller… I rather smaller one so a pelegrino with some drop of ice it’s perfect for lunch or dinner… it’s good also before you sleep as it has a lot minerals (I thing it’s the one with the highest content of the brands they tested) and it’s good for digestion… and if you are on a diet and can’t take alcohol, pelegrino, ice, lime a drop of Tabasco and a olive and you will not feel the difference from a martini
Yup..Topo Chico is my second favorite because it has a lot of bubbles...but my number one favorite comes from Thailand and it's called Singha soda water,the best in my opinion,,same makers as Singha Beer ..
Topo Gigio is by far the best. Loved the way Ed Sullivan used to say the name.
How about mentioning that buying an under sink water filter system and making your own soda water is the best route. Instead of buying overpriced water in bottles.
Some people just don’t want to do that or they don’t drink enough to justify getting one putting in. There’s more work involved in that than you might think.
@@samdajellybeenie14 No there isn't. I have one myself and it took me a whole 1hour max installing it all in since I had no idea wtf I was doing with limited tools.
Buying a 2-3 stage filter also doesn't cost much, you can find a good set for about $300. and the on-going costs of filters is almost nothing after that per year.
They did mention that in the video. That was literally one of the 4 options.

Actually, they didn't test my favorite sparkling water, which is Gerolsteiner. That's the best, imo, and I prefer the glass bottle over the plastic.

Waterloo is my favorite brand of flavored sparkling water.
I only drink unflavored Carbonated Water . Because I like big bubbles - so lots of carbonation I drink VERY COLD Club Soda and prefer the store brand Signature Select which has the added benefit of being dirt cheap.
