Made this for my mother who wanted it for a cruise. I used fingering weight black yarn and coupled it with a silver sequin thread. Very nice and sparkley ..... she received so many compliments on the cruise and she was so proud to say, "My daughter made this for me"....Came out so beautiful - cant wait to make one for myself :)
Your garments are always so beautiful. I really love the styles and patterns you choose to make. The idea to put the last chain on the back of the hook to keep the starting chain straight is genius, and so simple.
I have to share this! I have made x 4 of these ponchos now! I LOVE your yarn that you recommended, but also made a couple out of silk yarn - OH MY x they are gorgeous to give for gifts.... for evening wear x Expensive yarn... BUT you don't need too much of it. xxx Thank you, lovely Anya x
Stop adding to my crochet list!! (Of course I don't mean that...Your work is wonderful...I can't wait to make this shawl. And even though summer is almost over (and there's no beach near me anyway), I like to wear things like this over a plain shirt in the fall to kinda jazz it up a bit and give me a comfy layer as the weather changes)
Absolutely beautiful poncho - top. I have just made one for myself. I am now making Christmas presents for friends. With your recommended yarn (cotton with acrylic), it is so wonderful for any season. Even winter - worn crossways. Pattern also so rhythmic that it is great to catch up on Netflix xxx Thank you, again, Anya, for a beautiful piece and fab video for anyone who would be new to crochet. xxx
What a lovely light summer wearable! Great tutorial and lovely location too. I'll certainly have a go at making this one. Thank you Anja!! More lovely crochet projects to enjoy!! xxx
This is so wonderful! I just love your smile and how you show how the poncho looks and moves! Not a lot of pattern videos do that. I’m making this right now with a mixed black and white yarn in 100% wool. It’s coming out great, thank you for the awesome pattern!
Great tutorial for a beautiful poncho and one that looks lovely on you!! I started one yesterday and making it for my 6 year old granddaughter, see how it turns out then onto adult sizes!!
Love this and have to make one. I recently found your channel and making a list of all the pretty things I want to make now. Thank you for a lovely pattern.
I'm sure it would be very easy to make Becki, but I prefer my ponchos with just the back and front points. Have fun with your crochet! Thank you, Anja x
Nice summery poncho, and great tip! I was wondering why my ponchos twist. I've hesitated tearing them out because I didn't know how to fix the problem. Thank you!
I have several ponchos in the granny stitch on my channel, if you go to the search bar and put in granny poncho they will come up and you can click on the one you like, thank you Sianchino5262, Anja x
Thank you for the pattern, and useful típus. I've been crocheting for a long Time, but I've never known this kind of beginning where you push the first stitch back onto the needle só IT doesn't twist. Thanks.
I am making the neck shorter...I chained 120 and then once connected took the 4 clusters off, 2 on each side, and I still had too many chains left over at the end. Help!
Dear Anya, I love your summer poncho, and as I live in Singapore, I’d have year-round use for it! So, naturally, I’m eager to start on making it. But before I do, I’d like to ask you if you could provide a suggestion for a modification: I’d like the back not to dip, like the front, but come up along my nape, all the way to my hairline. I currently have very short hair, almost a buzz cut, and this style would be more flattering, and also warmer. I’d be very grateful for a suggestion how to go about it. (Written instructions, or a diagram will be fine.) Many thanks in advance!
Sorry for the late reply, I do have a tutorial on how to make reduce the neck opening on another poncho, it’s different to this poncho but the principle is still the same. ruclips.net/video/2RXtVRN9pSg/видео.htmlsi=20-2jaB9zgtIbkPP Or failing that you could make a small triangle and add it to the back. Good luck! Anja x
Lookbooks are lovely BUT I do wish you would do one still close-up to help the viewer with understanding. For example, on this poncho I suspect I will need to reduce the neck opening but need to study a photo to decide.. / Great tip to prevent chain twist at beginning!
Lookbooks are not tutorials! That is what tutorials are for! Just enjoy the lookbook and watch the tutorial when you want to make it …. It tells you everything!!!
Holy guacamole your beach got rocks! Where’s all the sand? How you walk over those rocks? Is that normal to have rocks instead of sand? I’m in Australia and I’ve never seen anything like that. Sorry, nothing to do with the amazing pattern but I’m surprised is all 😂🤦🏻♀️
Yes in some parts of the U.K. there are shingle beaches with a bit of sand, I live by the Jurassic coast. But further along there are all sand beaches. Anja x
PS big big THANKS for the written pattern. I get too distracted (and frustrated) following along to a video. I prefer to read the pattern, listen to the video and then go back to key parts if I need extra help.

Would it be difficult to make this beautiful poncho with 4 points? Stunning and so simple. Will definitely be making this for my nieces.
I'm sure it would be very easy to make Becki, but I prefer my ponchos with just the back and front points. Have fun with your crochet! Thank you, Anja x

Thank you for the pattern, and useful típus. I've been crocheting for a long Time, but I've never known this kind of beginning where you push the first stitch back onto the needle só IT doesn't twist. Thanks.
So glad it is useful to you, thank you Margrit, Anja x
Love this but holes are big, can I chain 2 instead??
If you only chain 2 but skip 3 stitches it may pull in, but you could try to see how it lays after a few rows, Anja x
I am making the neck shorter...I chained 120 and then once connected took the 4 clusters off, 2 on each side, and I still had too many chains left over at the end. Help!
Hi Gwen, try this video, it should help you, thank you for watching, Anja x

I’d like to make this for a large person. Your website is only allowing me 3 balls of yarn.
What yarn and colour are you trying to order? It might be that there is only 3 balls in stock?

Thank you for purchasing the pdf Tammy, and I'm sure it will look great in any season! Anja x
Me too. :)
I would like a smaller neck line, but not sure how to go about it. Like some where between 80 to 100 chains to start with.
Hi Charleen, just make sure the number of chains you start with works with the stitch multiple and you're good to go, thank you Anja x
😍😍😍👍👍👍🙋♀️🇩🇿😘😘😘
