I just found your channel on a day I truly needed and welcomed some light in the world. What a beautiful, magical, unexpected gift it was to find your world. Thank you for sharing - I’ve instantly subscribed.
Hello, my name is Kate and I'm a native Shetlander. Oh, how I enjoyed your video and I subscribed right away. This was just what I needed today and I will no doubt get the benefit of your videos whenever I watch them. Peace, wonderful peace.
This was such a beautiful and lovely Episode. A pleasure to watch and listen to. You made it happen, to keep the loud world outside. Just for a wonderful Moment. Thank you very much. ❤
Approaching my 70th birthday, retired from the workforce, living with heart disease, and yet I am grateful. I have made quilts for many years and I cross stitch, unusual for an American man. Your video reminds me how fortunate I am to live a slow thoughtful life. Here in the middle of America we don’t have shorelines or mountains, but we have beautiful forests and hills. Mother nature gives us four beautiful seasons. I feel as if we are neighbors sharing many similarities. Thank you for your beautiful and well considered videos. I hope you will make more videos as they are very peaceful and calming.
“We are content with the simple relief that Winter brings….” …such beautiful words spoken while showing us such stunning footage… Thank you, again….for taking us along. Your stories as well as the moving music slow down our world today…🌟
Thank you for such an extensive comment! We really appreciate it. It is no problem to write in German as we understand perfectly what you are saying. We just can't write it as well as you! We are so glad it brought you some peace and joy today. Hope to see you again next time!
This is such a beautiful video and it came to me as a surprise when I saw Dennis’s lovely face! It’s been so long since I have seen him on RUclips and I often wondered what had happened to him.
A gift from You Tube - sending this channel to me! How beautiful and also meaningful as my Great grandmother emigrated from Gotland . I visited Gotland in 2017 and actually met some distant cousins. What a privilege as there was no going back for her. Love your knitting plans!
Wow how special! Thank you for sharing that with us. What were your favourite places on Gotland? Hope to see you again next time. warm regards from us! 🫶🏻
Thank you so much for this wonderful video and your recipe of Kanelbullar. I enjoyed every moment with you in such a quietness. I am from Germany and it is very hektic where i live. Greetings, Iris.😘
So happy this came up on my RUclips recommendations - and also to see Dennis again, and to witness the beautiful life you have found together. Thank you for such amazing, professional, atmospheric videos, and I love all of the content. Happy 2025 to you both, from the UK.
Hello from England - new subscriber. I found you very late in the night of the darkest of days, looking for some respite from the awfulness that is going on in the world, but today, especially even where we least expect it. Knitting is such a solace. I am “going round” two shawls and two cropped sweaters. Which is more than I ought to have on the go. But I’m getting there slowly , and planning in my head for another knitting project. Staying sane. Staying positive.
What a lovely podcast! Found you quite by accident, but was absolutely enthralled by the lovely scenery, soft music and your quiet, calming voice. I am watching from the hot, steamy tropics of Northern Australia while we wait for our monsoon to break, and although I knew snow as a child in England, I cannot ever imagine living in such a cold place again. Even so, I love my Icelandic knitting and continue to make my sweaters while sitting in the air conditioning … 😊 Those of us living in these climes find our "dry" season very cold, (even though visitors swelter), so I do actually get to wear them. Look forward to the next episode … subscribed … hugs from Down Under … 🥰🌴🌴🌴
Hello from New Zealand. I enjoyed your video. I didn't realize Dennis had heart failure . I was diagnosed with heart failure 3 months ago. My Lord, Yeshua sustains me. Thank you for what you shared.
Oh my, so sorry to read you have been diagnosed with heart failure as well. Hope you will find stability in your health. Warm regards and well wishes from us 🫶🏻
@ I’m sure there was a mountain of work that went into this video. I appreciate all of the talent and effort that you invested into it. And thank you for sharing this work of art. This transcends almost any of the content that I consume. I hope that I get to experience more and that you receive a return on your investment💗💗
That was so beautiful in every way. I'm so happy that you're back with us. And not just on instagram, though that did tide over for a while. Sending so much love to you both.
Good evening from the heart of England! I've been making those cinnamon buns all my life after my grandmother taught me. Now I know the proper name for them; thank you! I do not make mine in bun cases but just put them a distance apart on the baking sheet so that they almost join together when they prove. Is that traditional and acceptable? Two things we have in common as well as the love of cinnamon buns with coffee are the liking for 'Wilderness Knits' I think I am on my 7th project from this book; another Foyja sweater for a friend. It ALWAYS gets comments and admiration when I and my husband wear ours. He knits too but prefers cablework. The other thing is..... can you guess? We both have greyhounds! I have two boys although I often foster for my local greyhound rescue organisation. We had a foster boy until last week when he went to his new home. His new daddy contacted me yesterday and said he is so calm, so settled and so happy. I am looking forward to catching up with your previous vids and seeing the seasons unfold in your beautiful homeland. I have heard of the kladdkaka and it would be wonderful if you could share your recipe with us. Until next time....
I just came upon your podcast by accident -such a lovely podcast. I think people have to get into this slower paced pod cast. I hope you both have many pod casts ahead of you, that I will watch everyone of them - beautiful cinematography carol Australaia
Thank you Carol, what a kind thing to say. We have many plans for the future, but need to pace ourselves with our health. We are so glad you enjoyed it. Love from Gotland ❤️
Bonjour Louise and Dennis ~ what a spectacular video!! Great knitting and peaceful, organic atmosphere . We do have a similar recipe like the kanelbullar, we call them in french “ nun’s farts” being a french canadian recipe. I was intrigued by the name Eydis…now i know what it means and understand the choice for it. I am a knitter as well, now working on the Polina sweater and love islandic patterns and colorwork. Happy winter and all the best , greetings from Atlantic Canada. ~Ginette
Ha! Nuns Farts! We take they taste better than the name🤭 The Polina is a pattern we will need to look up. Is it also with colour work? warm winter regards from up north 🫶🏻
@ yes the Polina pullover is colorwork, lots of floats as the motif is quite large but not islandic style. Its by creator Teti Lutsak. Thanks for the reply…heading for a knitting night as we are having temps of -30 ish for tonight….even for us canadian its darn cold ahah! Cosy evening to you ~
Lovely video! The photo is stunning and your voice is so lovely! I have to check out the pattern for your grey sweater (I don't mind knitting in the flat and sew the pieces together) Thank you for sharing🥰
Thank you for sharing a day in January. My first time to your channel. Are the patterns available in English and where could I purchase them? Thank you
Just found your video and thoroughly enjoyed it! My mother was a prolific knitter. Unfortunately I have not followed in her footsteps. Maybe it’s not too late.🧶
