Currently recovering from bilateral rupture of the quadriceps from jumping on a trampoline. I’m 29 years old and am in good physical condition. Every doctor I’ve spoken with is amazed that I managed to rupture both. I really hope I can recover my range of motion and strength as I love playing sports and doing outdoor activities. Thanks for the informative video!
I can see this is a 1 year old post. Can I ask how satisfied you are with the recovery? where you are up to? I'm currently sitting on ,my couch, leg splinted, and in pain. I'm 43, and I bilateral ruptured the quad tendon on a....... wait for it.......... TRAMPOLINE!!! Snap! (sorry for the pun) I'm a very healthy physical person with an extensive background in elite gymnastics and a acrobatic career including working with Cirque du Soleil. I have never even had my knee in a brace before and the thing I was doing on the trampoline wasn't exactly what I would call high impact so the whole thing is a massive shock. This video has been helpful- I can send it to friends and relatives to explain the deal. I hope your recover has gone well.
sorry to hear about your injury. how was your recovery? do you have normal motion on your leg now? I just had my operation 2 days ago. it's was a really bad rupture further up the leg, the worst the doctor had ever seen. I'm 59 so I'm not Sure if I'm going too have a full recovery to normal motion again
Same for me. Jumped a few inches off the ground 5 minutes into playing basketball with the kids. Came crashing down like a house of cards. Almost complete tear of both quad tendons is what the MRI said. Opted not to have surgery instead had 2 rounds of stem cell injections into both knees. Today left knee is worse than right. Decline slopes and stairs are still tricky but I can go uphill fine and some doctors I’ve seen are surprised by my range of motion and strength. I’m back to squatting but I keep the weight moderate. Not able to jog however. Occasionally the left knee will buckle. Usually after a long day when the fatigue sets in.
Had a full tear on my right quad tendon from running down stairs. I'm 57 yrs old. Going into 6 weeks in a brace. You sure loose your strength in the muscle and not to mention definition. I have some range of motion in the knee but not pushing it. I don't want to much tension on the tendon while healing. 2 more weeks for an assessment and hoping to loose the brace.
I'm pretty sure I have a front quad tendon partial tear, It gives me pain at certain bending motions just above the knee, but yet with gradual heavier weights, and warming it up, I can load it quite heavy and do front lunges with dumbels and it feels great. with no soreness at all later,.
in april i fell, rupturing my quad tendon, i had surgery, but from day 2 i knew something was wrong, it was inflamed, kept getting worse, pain was extreme, and they messed up my checkup/staple removal date, and made it 22 days post op, but in that time i went to my gp doctor, who said the surgeons dont like us interfering, and you dont have a fever, the leg was discharging fluid, this would of been around day 14, i arrived at hospital, the surgeon said why werent you here 10 days ago, i said the appointment was for today, he immediately said that should be healed, put a pico dressing and, booked me in for a debridement next day..., i got surgery two days later, leg was not inflamed like before, and pain was a 1/10 but its taken 7 weeks, and 5 plaster casts because the wound so large and wide, i had staph aureus infection in it, so they took out the sutures and whatever else they used to repair it, went back in and used poly tape, yesterday i finally got a brace, the leg is a mess, the scar, muscle loss, tightness, indentations, and it is not very flexible at all, this is almost 12 weeks post injury, just letting people know what can happen, and do not listen to 'the experts' its fine, all i heard, will i get rom back, ive tried bending it about 10 degrees and sharp pains in my knee, the tendon above the knee, is so tight, from obviously being cut twice
How are you know? I don't exactly what I have, but I am feeling better. It's been 10 months, I can walk with some pain. Experts told to get injections but I refused. I will heal naturally with help of God 🙏
Thanks so much for uploading this video. My elderly mother suffered a fall and I think the quad muscles or tendons were injured. I hope I am wrong, so she doesn't have to undergo surgery. :(
I have a partial rupture, but surgery is out of the question because I can’t afford to be able to work any length of time. It seems I can function. I can walk, but I wouldn’t be able to run.
Total rupture of quad tendon and Medialis and Lateralis inside and outside tendons also. 6 weeks out of surgery and frustrated that I'm not being asked to do more. I am supposed to keep it locked but i can do stairs with brace unlocked but they still want me to keep it straight for weeks. Very frustrating to go so slow when I feel I can do much more safely.
I’m 18 and I’ve been exercising for 1 month now and I believe I have Quadricep rupture to some extent. For me, everyday is leg day and I work my legs everyday for an hour my exercises consist a lot of squares and lunges, it’s gotten pretty bad that I get strong aching from the top of my knee
Hit my knee on an edge a few days ago, now I can't extend it without lifting it, it's too painful. If I'm laying on my back and my knee is bent, I can't straighten it without assistance. Drs are too expensive, guess I'm just handicapped now?
Hi Sir. U r explanation and dealing the problem is very efficient .I am a patient suffering with knee stiffness. Due to accident femur ,patella, tibia are fractured.please guide me in medical treatment kindly provide u r e-mail. I will put x-ray images

@@blathy2 So the doctor didn’t recommend an MRI/surgery right away?
I’d recommend stem cell injections if you can swing it.
