I thought Carl won. And by the time Holmes fought Michael Spinks he barely had anything left when it came to fighting at a higher level. He should have quit right after this fight, the hell with trying to break Marciano's undefeated record.
Marciano wouldn’t have been undefeated had he fought the first 49 guys Holmes fought. -Norton -Shavers -Cooney -Snipes -Witherspoon -Bonecrusher -C.Williams -M.Spinks
Williams wins.....no doubt of that.....I think this was umpires match.....they might have betted heavily on Holmes and would have been on the road.....had the decision gone to Williams.
Based on Highlights the Truth won but that Holmes looked good for a 10 year age gap. People underestimate the stamina, strength and mental state of mind differences!
@@cristianorosero3348 Difference is Holmes fought undefeated champions and Tyson fought people that had already lost a lot of momentum in their careers
@@cristianorosero3348 Also Holmes reigned over the heavyweight division for over twice as long as Tyson (7 yrs and some months reign Vs only a 3 yr reign).
Holmes Won watch the whole fight watch the missed by Williams and how many times he was hurt against a aging Champion ,and they did ask WILLIAMS after the fight “ So you think Larry Won “:WILLIAMS said yes !
I met Carl Williams after the Tyson-Stewart bout in A.C. He was a gentleman and a pleasure to talk and have dinner with. When I told him I thought he had been robbed, he smiled and said "Hey, the judges score it how they see it. I needed to at least knock Holmes down to have a chance. So yeah, he won the fight". Carl Williams is a class act, and I hope he is alive and well. I also think he was very wary of Tyson's KO power. Stewart was terrified of Tyson. Rd. 1 KO.
Holmes appeared heavier than His normal weight. Carl laid off of Holmes in the closing rounds and eased off the pedal. Never understood this. It was a draw in my opinion and a rematch would have been a dandy payday for both.
Williams won, he messed up Holmes'face like nobody else did before, but at this match , he is an inexperienced novice, who Holmes mistakenly thought would be no problem for him. Holmes had a record of NEVER giving rematches to dangerous opponents who he luckily escaped with a controversial/debatable decision, who he knows can beat him in a rematch. In this case, he would rather fight Michael Spinks next, who is a bigger more marketable name, but a lightheavyweight who can weigh-in as low as 170 pounds for his fights, and thought(wrongly) that he will be easier to beat than Williams
Tyson didn't ko him. They stopped the fight because Williams was easily outboxing Tyson and they realized Tyson would be outboxed. So when Tyson got a knock down they immediately stopped it without giving Williams a chance. He was up and ready to continue.
Watched the entire fight many times, Williams won no doubt, and he messed up Holmes face too.
Holmes was 35 and past his best and still whooped an undefeated champ in carl Williams. Just shows how great Holmes really was.
@@makaveli3189 I that you Mr Magoo?
Carl won this fight....rest in peace Williams
Holmes had trouble against Williams cause they had the same style.
I watched the whole fight. Williams won by at least two rounds.
Holmes at this point was a shot fighter. The loss to Spinks in his next fight was inevitable.
William wasn't fighting to win but to impress the audience

Judging by this highlight Williams definitely won the fight.
Not just by Judging the highlights. If you watch the whole fight, Williams definitely won.
143-142 Larry Holmes win

The Truth is Williams won that fight. He was robbed.
Carl won
CARL WON..

Bro Holmes barely won this match but it was really controversial while we see Tyson take this Williams dude out in one round😭.
I remember watching this live. Holmes, if he won, he just barely did.

Robbery!
Carl should win in thid match !!
I think Larry was outpointed in this fight. This was the start of his decline. Stll a close fight tho.
Williame won this cheating game

@Урош Раца what did he think of ali
@@57curtnevan Carl Williams was a good out boxer with very good jab, huge reach but he couldn't block left hook. Tyson punished that mistake.
Yep, it was close, but Holmes deservedly got the nod!
Williams got robbed. Just like Witherspoon

unbelievably biased commentary and judging, absolutely disgusting.
I remember this fight I still feel Larry Holmes lost this Fight. a draw at the most Carl Williams also beat George Foreman
I don’t think he ever fought Foreman.
Cark Williams never fought George Foreman.
Holmes from 78 to 82 would of outboxed this kid by a lot
But he lost this fight instead

Somewhere between the 9th and 12th round Holmes hit Williams with a body shot that changed the fight.
He should have stick to his game plan till the end. Larry won in my opinion
holmes won
It was a close fight. 143-142 either way is fair.
It was close, but Larry rightfully got the nod because he did a little more than Williams.
