I think I never thought "Oh, Otis can exist in both worlds!" at all, ever. I just thought it was great singing and such of great songs and his acting was good, and, that's what made him the best part(s) of the movie.
@@nancywood9531 i saw him and his band perform at a place called the kingsman pub in Bridgeport Connecticut in 1980 and he was not very good At the time I had no clue that another singer actually did the song The first time I ever saw Dewayne Jessie in a movie was in bingo longs traveling all Stars and motor kings with Billie dee Williams and James earl Jones around 75 or 76 Hes a good actor but not a very good singer
I live in Dexter Oregon next to Dexter lake and this has never been a place where black people were killed and thrown into the lake. In fact there was a black woman in the early part of the 1900’s in the town of Lowell on the other side of the lake who was loved and respected. I still love Otis Day very much and I go to the Dexter Lake club every week and sometimes I sing shout at the karaoke. My brothers and dad watch the filming of the movie. This is a very loving community and we are not hateful at all.
Lloyd G Williams was the man from Earth Wind And Fire and Temptations who recorded the songs for the movie.. Animal House. this actor was Lip syncing in the movie.. they dubbed Lloyd's recordings into the movie.. ...this actor turned down the part because he couldn't sing.. he was cast because he was so goofy looking, big mouth and stupid wig. Lloyd was too handsome. After the movie was such a sucesd he changed his name to Otis Day legally so he could claim the fame and royalties ( millions) from recordings.. The record lable stated song was by Otis Day. LLOYD WILLIAMS got NO FAME OR ROYALTIES OR EVEN MOVIE CREDIT. He was cheated out of millions by a fake hoax. Look Lloyd G William's up on you tube.
@@jimmylipsjaymo Looked it up and you're as right as rain. Even found photos of him. What a voice! He deserves public recognition - and compensation. Thanks, bro'...
No. No. No. He never sang one note. He lied when he said he didn't know why he turned t h e part d own. It was because he could not sing. They told him they would dub the singing then. So he took roll. He lied.
Definately two of the best scenes in the movie...and of course, the music was stellar.
Thank you Otis, I can only imagine how many times of watched it and listened on the radio. Pure joy.Great actor but an incredible singer.
His performance was great!

He's a fake. He never sang a note in the movie. Lloyd G William's sang the songs. They dubbed him in and actor lip synced. Fake.

they weren't a gleam in their daddy's eye when that movie came out...why not find relevant age demographic to interview?
Animal House is timeless and what they ate talking about is extremely relevant today
Otis Day played at the Lone Star in NYC.
they were there studying, according to the movie, primitive cultures
Otis, my man!
