I used to make vaults. That vault sealant/glue is some crazy sticky stuff. You have to put the can of sealant on a burner, just to heat it up so you can pour it in the groove.
Half the time the sealant that I see used is just tar strips the seal is a interesting choice I think as well because water and dirt still get in the vault

Its actually smart to have a vault for a body. When the zombie apocalypse happens, there is one less you need to deal with. Remember that Mayor West made it mandatory for concrete to be poured over every casket.
Sorry for the lose btw.
I dont know why we try to preserve ourselves in such things. Pine box and let me be asorbed by the earth
Yessss exactly
I would wish my family and friends to fill the hole...dump truck feels wrong to me.
When you seal the vault the body decomposes faster
having worked for a vault company and most states require them. it is to preserve the ones in them. I never used the bench. two straps work as good.
@@cletisellis2735 you decompose slower in a sealed environment
I used to make vaults. That vault sealant/glue is some crazy sticky stuff. You have to put the can of sealant on a burner, just to heat it up so you can pour it in the groove.
Half the time the sealant that I see used is just tar strips the seal is a interesting choice I think as well because water and dirt still get in the vault
@@kylerporter9544 We never used tar, but I can definitely see that working pretty good. Idk what the actual name of the stuff we used was called. It's kinda a Yellow/Amber color. It's also extremely thick and sticky. It's so thick that it's impossible to pour it in the groove of the lid without first heating it.
Thank you for sharing this. It's something most will never see or care about. I've officiated a number of these final services.
Thank you for what you do!
Once your grandchildren passes, you'll be forgotten, as if you were never here. There will be no on alive to remember you. Or, at least care enough to say your name.
yap so why not let the earth reclaim the body
Maybe once. Not anymore. Technology especially digital photos and social media will allow generations to connect to their past like no time before.
Vaults are usually on using a hiljoy. Pipes for rollers its rolled on squared up and once the cable are done. You are able to pull out your rollers and middle planks. This creates the opening for the vault and preps it for base lid separation.
82 is a good number.
R.I.P Dorothy🙏🏼
I disagree. The closer I get to 80, the younger 80 feels.
My own mother left us at 92 and she was still so sharp and wonderful - her mind was young. Her body gave in to the disease. She was still too young. I say this in seriousness …. Life is too short
@@rschoof1 some don't make it pass 10.
Beautiful. Thank you for your work.
Appreciate all you do!!!❤❤🎉🎉
rest in peace to that person...
My dad had a similar vault lid for his burial. That surprised us, the funeral home said was thier gift to us from them.
Shocked at the fact the funeral home gave it to your family as a gift. Doesn't sound like most funeral places to me.
@@joekev27I'm sure the price of the vault was buried in the invoice somewhere.
My grandparents are buried in a vault like this. We didn't hang around to watch it happen with my grandfather but we did with my grandmother. It's good to know they are taken care of even at the end
Oh my that is such a beautifyl. Top. So expensive for it all. Thank you for sharing. Wish my son could have had that.
Wow nice to see how this is done!!!
I love the top of the vault cover with her picture on it -thats really nice ❤
What's the point though when it's being covered with dirt to never be seen again??
@@lisao7600that's what they thought about king tuts grave too. 😅 It's for the archaeologists.
@@smallbeginning2 yeah, that's a king. Do you think future archeologists are going to be digging up marked graves of average people?
@@lisao7600 for sure. If they find it in 5000-50000 years. Yes. We already do. Eg bog man. You'll be just as interesting to them as bog man is to us.
@@lisao7600Look up Victorian era mummy unwrapping parties, it wasn’t all royalty being disturbed.
It's important to get that Tupperware seal, so the contents don't spoil for a good 1000 years.
I also thought that casket isn't supposed to go underground

People commenting this is a waste of money are the same times to argue why they should have 1000$ sneakers
Like they will be using this for far longer than they used them sneakers
Yeah no.
I guarantee that most likely no one here is spending a grand on sneakers. those people are few a far between.
@@TippyIsCool u would be surprised I promise, if they are far and few between companies wouldn't be so big lmao. People who have money spend that money. But let's use something. Else.

Very professional service. Great job.
A road for everyone bless you for doing such a good job
I worked for Arnold Vault Co. for 6 years in the 70s. I installed several SSTs. One of the best jobs I ever had. Wilbert brand is still #1 in my book!!
I work in the funeral service, I’ve never seen one of your occupation in slacks and a tie. It adds a bit of class I’m sure is appreciated. Good work.
I used to work at a cemetery alot respect for the vault guys they worked their asses off out there
Going to my great-grandmother’s funeral tomorrow and this is just beautiful
Beautiful! My family cemetery does not have this kind of equipment, instead many buff men & older tools
My father was a “jack of all trades” in the funeral business (worked for a family business , helped the family out and got a job there when he left his old job at the time) gotta say the more I see, the more I realise how much of a beautiful role he played in after life care, when he was working there he’d come home in the afternoons and tell me about his day and what he did (even told me about body prep for caskets and for the crem, and when he’d pick up passed ones from houses…who already had their will and funeral pre planed with morleys funerals) mind you I was 14-16 when he worked there. I already had huge respect to those who passionately worked in the funeral industry, but these vids on yt got me giving my heart to y’all.
Am I the only one that find the music and his voice was very touching and emotional despite all of the other comments on the dirt and the expensive casket that has to be sealed from possible undead?
I never seen vault man in shirt and tie you did excellent job 👍
Thank u for your Service Sir....
Thank you for these videos
One of the saddest days of our lives but something we all have in common
I always wondered why funeral homes make everyone leave before the casket is lowered… I’m glad you allow the families more time to see their family members one last time..
I worked for Woodlawn Cemetery in Dayton Ohio and I must say, that was extremely professional, impressive 👍
That dump truck took me out 😂😂😂 cant take shit seriously no more 😂
It has been 30 years since i lost my mom and this brought tears 😭
That’s one of the most beautiful caskets I ever ever seen🥹❤️
Such a nice setup for the liner! A lot smaller and probably easier to use, worked at a fairly large cemetery and we would use tractors to lower the liner lid.
You look great, btw. Respect for the occasion. Class.
Awesome job sir
Awesome work!!! Use to do this for a living. But we had buggies with a boom lift that we could drive into the cemetery. Made it a lot easier. But this job can be very stressful at times. Worry about the weather if the hole is on the hill. And hole cave ins were the worst!!! And trying to do it in front of the family was very nerve racking and stressful.
