Oh man, that Mustang is already a gem. Looks and runs excellent. But most of all, this was one of the car presentation vids I watched on youtube. Good music choice and not disturbing while 289 starts singing, outboard filming suddenly turns to inboard and driver and car seems to be pleased by each other. Sooooo satisfactory. Joined your channel without any vacillation.
Ernie P why can't you drive it everyday? If you put modern tech in it? I have one in my area for a great price if I pull the trigger and buy it I'll make it my daily. Are you saying it's can't daily because it's "old"
Thank you very much Sam, we sincerely appreciate that! Anybody reading this comment should go check out Sam's channel...he does some truly impressive work!
Beautiful Mustang! My grandpa had a 65’ fastback that he restored in the 80’s black on black 289 4 speed. Wish he still had it but he’s got a 5.0 now which is fun too, but not as much of a raw experience as this! Nice job!
Nice Car !!! 💓my aunt who is over 80 now had this car and a 66 fastback !!! .my Father had a bad ass 56/57 Ford that he'd drag race. Alot of people did that in mid 50's through the 60's . I bet my aunt scored a lot of wins with her fastback s 289 🔥
They came with an inline 6, a 289 V8 with a 2 barrel carb, a 289 V8 with a 4 barrel carb, and a special K-code engine the 271 horse, 289 High Performance V8. Solid lifters.
@@RamblinAround interesting mustang story. I am an 80s baby and was seeking out a Fox body a few years ago. I actually stumbled across a terrible quality photo posting on Craigslist for a 66 mustang. Despite the photos, the blue and white pony interior (I knew nothing about prior) stood out to me. Feeling discouraged from having test drove a pristine fox body and feeling unimpressed of the performance (due to today’s spoiled standards which replaced my childhood experience in a fox body my friends brother had) I felt compelled to check out the 66. Though I didn’t have much money. I went with a friend of mine to a huge tire distribution shop in Arizona. The car was there. It was amazing. The interior was brand new and it was in such good shape inside and out for not being restored. I fell in love. I quickly forgot about the fox body I wanted originally. Then I heard that the old man’s son owned the car and he had passed away. The old man didn’t want to look at the car anymore. I was afraid of how much he would take for the car and told his assistant I didn’t have a lot of money. The assistant smiled and said, “make him an offer and he will take it”. I made my offer of under $7500 and it was mine. I am so lucky to have it. It brings my wife and our dog a lot of joy driving it around. I get thumbs up everywhere I go and it really is so much fun just to slow down and cruise. It’s a sprint 200 and not worth a fortune, but we love it and it’s so fun to cruise around. It’s what cars are all about. We since moved to North Carolina and cause trouble driving it around here now.
i like what shelby did to it with the longer hood and the more aggressive look (not the eleanor but just the regular shelbys) and the inboard headlights on the 67
Great video of a wonderful Mustang version. But I did notice that the driver was hanging on the shift lever often. I have read that this practice is very hard on the transmission. Watch race driver videos, they don't do it. Two hands on the wheel is a good idea also.
My daddy had a 65 fastback 4 on the floor and one day my mama was driving and she choked it down on a hill daddy looked over at her and said bitch if you can't drive get out! She fired it up and stomped the gas to the floor and my daddy was wearing his onion rings and ketchup 😂😂😂 Those two loved each other for over 40 years. I miss both of them.
Thank you for watching, we do have a couple interesting builds coming up. Right now, we have a Sunbeam Tiger almost ready for paint and it's going to powered by a healthy 289. We're also supposed to be restoring another 65 Fastback, but that hasn't begun yet.
Have one the these in my garage. 65 fastback A code 4 speed factory disc Georgia car. 289 Hi-Po cam, electronic ignition, F4B intake,4100 Autolite, scattershield and headers. Probably not as fast as the one in the video but a kick to drive.
No Wonder smokey could not catch this baby holy Moses she is fast 🦇 batmobile from the batcave thanks jeff and Jordan for this video i enjoy every moment ✌️ ✌️ ☀️ 🤩
Nice car. My first car at sixteen was a 66 Mustang GT 289 K Code coupe. Springtime yellow with black GT stripes. Styled steel wheels, fogs, 8 grand ralley pak, black deluxe interior w front bench seat w fold down arm rest, AM 8 track, trumpets. Great car.

This is the car I had back in the day. Same color, same interior. Wish I had it today.
That's cool that you had one Jim, it's definitely one of my favorite cars. Thanks for taking a look at this one!
you got rid of it fit a reason, don't forget is still am old car that needs maintenance often and can't drive everyday
searching all 1949s fords

Huge hp from just 289 cubes. Gotta give ford props
Thanks for making this video! The sound and camera work/ locations are excellent!
back when cars were beautiful. cars these days are made of plastic and computers, i wish i lived in the 50-60s..
Daniel Fite if you don’t like modern cars just buy an old car.. nobody’s stopping you
one of my classmate's in my school has a lamborghini i don't know what type of lambo because i am not a fan of modern cars.

Every gear head should have access to a two lane road like that one. Especially with a beauty like this.
In the day had a 65 stang 289 4 speed 4 barrel . Beat it up street racing and it never let me down ! Wasn't the quickest but it sure was fun.
The best car that i have ever seen in Hold my life

My Father & I have a 66 in progress Automatic. Beautiful tho....nice 65!
Like the lines on the 65 Fastbacks the best. Beautiful car. Sounds great.
Man that 289 roars!!
man, that must have been a crazy car brand new back in the day, especially considering the bias ply tires and brakes. what a beauty!

Your best video. Watching it every now and then
Should've never, ever, ever change the original design of this beauty. Could've stayed unchanged like the original VW Beetle.
